Reform UK thank residents for their support

Aldridge and Brownhills Reform UK's Graham Eardley has said that they expect a 'very good' result in their area.

00:00Yes, we're here with a former UK candidate, Graham Edley, fantastic, so how's the day been today for you?

00:06It's been a bit hectic, going out with the loud hailer, the megaphone, shouting at people to get out and vote,

00:12and mainly just trying to get the vote out today.

00:15Absolutely, yeah, so what's it been like, obviously, going around and talking to residents, beating the polls?

00:20Very positive. I was surprised how many people are switching from Conservative to Reform,

00:27and also I found one or two people from Labour switching to Reform,

00:30so I think it's going to be a very good night for us here in Aldridge Brownhills.

00:34Absolutely fantastic, it's been a pretty good response on the streets then?

00:37Extremely, people might, I mean Tony will tell you as well, you know, it's excellent.

00:43I've just been having a look round the baskets and what have you, it's going quite well, it's going quite well.

00:51Fantastic, yeah, so what was your initial reaction to the exit poll, if you don't mind me asking?

00:56Well, I thought 13 might even be too low, I mean, Nigel, since he's taken over the leadership,

01:02our vote in the opinion poll has been going up, I mean, some have put us over 20% and above the Conservatives,

01:08so to see 13 seats, I thought that may be very Conservative, if you pardon the pun, a figure of 13.

01:17So, let's say it goes in your favour today, what's the next step after that?

01:23Well, the next step after that is obviously to secure accommodation in Westminster, find an office, get staff,

01:32but before then, I hope to be going to Pelsall Carnival, which is taking place this Saturday,

01:40seeing all the stalwarts, meeting the people, and also on Saturday, Walsall Wood Church,

01:45St John's Church in Walsall Wood have their summer fair, so I'll be popping over there as well,

01:51and definitely trying to get the England match in as well.

01:54Somewhere in there, yeah, so pretty much the immediate actions afterwards is getting into the residence, getting into the locals.

02:02Yeah, and relying on this chap telling me what to do.

02:04Well, it's a pretty exciting day, can we sort of know the prediction, can we know your predictions at all?

02:09I'm very confident seeing the votes there, and I am very humbled and very thankful to the people that have come out and supported me.
