Tom's Guide test out the Dragonfly DFX Scooter, a four-wheel off-road electric scooter that can go almost anywhere. But is it wort the price-tag?
Transcript
00:00We're here along the East River Promenade to check out the Dragonfly DFX sports scooter.
00:08It's got four wheels, full suspension, and can go pretty much anywhere.
00:12This is literally one of the most badass scooters I've ever ridden.
00:25So right away, you can tell that the DFX is a lot different from most other scooters.
00:30For one, it's got four wheels instead of two, and that's because this is designed for real
00:36off-roading.
00:37It's got big, beefy four-inch tires as well, and full suspension, so you can really bounce
00:43on this thing and you can see how it can really respond easily to just about anything you
00:48drive over.
00:53Like most scooters, this one also can fold down, so when you want to store it.
00:59It's not exactly the most compact.
01:01It also weighs about 70 pounds, so it's going to be a little bit tough getting up your apartment.
01:11Another standout feature of the Dragonfly is that it has a pretty big display in the
01:14front here.
01:15Nice color screen.
01:17It shows you your speed, your distance, battery life, of course, if your lights are on, and
01:22a few other things like that.
01:23I also like that this one has turn signals, so you can see right here, and then in the
01:29back, it also shows there are three speed settings, D1 through D3.
01:34The lowest one, you'll go to a maximum of about five miles an hour.
01:38You crank it up to D3, and you're cruising along at 28.
01:41That's pretty fast.
01:42That sure beats looking at spreadsheets all day.
02:00The Dragonfly DFX is a hell of a lot of fun to ride.
02:04Is it $4,000 worth of fun?
