16:18Yeah, and you even have that moment where he shuts off the comms and all that stuff
16:21It's like you get it
16:23But outside of that like this I thought this episode was pretty good
16:26It felt kind of like what you typically would see like, okay
16:29The first thing I think it was like Empire Strikes Back with Luke Skywalker and Yoda and that whole training and stuff like that
16:35There's a lot of it's very dialogue
16:36It's like kind of guiding him through mentally and spiritually to becoming a Jedi, right?
16:41And you had a similar ish scene or or sets of scenes in last Jedi
16:46with again Luke, but with Ray Skywalker, whatever the heck her name is and
16:52Yeah, it's like there's a lot of like understanding philosophically, you know this path
16:57and so I actually thought that stuff was good in terms of the acting in terms of the lead-up in terms of you know,
17:02kind of bringing
17:05Osha from I guess one kind of thinking to the other, you know what I mean?
17:09Yeah, he was leading her towards something that she probably already was inside, right?
17:14You know, yeah, I mean cuz we all have those feelings right? I think the whole idea is it's balance, right?
17:20So it's like choosing more one or the other choosing which side to embrace. But yeah, I'm finding him
17:27the Sith Manny Jacinto's character to be the most
17:32Compelling right now like and and he's doing such a great job with his delivery as well
17:38Like I have so much curiosity around him. I'm like wait, I don't care about anyone else right now
17:44I just want to know his backstory like what happened to him what led him to
17:49Give up being a Jedi and to choose this path instead and he's talking about. Oh, it happened a long long time ago

17:56But how long like I need to know like you're so fascinating to me right now like Osha and May
18:03Whatever. It's all about him. Well, I think you know a certain amount of things being cryptic is
18:09Just a component of Star Wars, right? Sure as you go along and I guess, you know, some things will get explained later
18:15But you don't need to know everything but the issue that happens with this show is it draws attention to itself?
18:21Like in previous episodes when Sol was not divulging information. It's like, okay
18:26You're it's very clear. There is a delay of information that is not yet divulged to the audience and it's like when you make it
18:33So obvious that's when it's frustrating
18:34it's when you slowly discover things as you go and the
18:38Picture broadens and as you as the audience and you get a bigger and bigger sense as to what's going on and there's this discovery
18:45That's fun. Yes, you know, it's not fun when you're like, okay. Well clearly this is not everything
18:51And and they keep they keep doing the thing where they're like I need to tell you something, yeah
18:55Oh crap, but not right now. I need to tell you something
18:59Yeah, or I've I've been working on this speech for the past 16 years and and you're gonna listen to it
19:05It's like oh, yeah, what choice does she have? You've literally tied her down. Of course. She's gonna have to listen to it

19:12like we're but we've all been waiting and it does feel like that like the show was like this was the coolest tidbit of story
19:18And we're just going to drag it out for as long as possible to keep people here
19:24Until the end of the series or at the end of the show because otherwise they would just well
19:29They're gonna have to deliver it next week. Yeah, I mean he's literally set up to be delivered next week, right?
19:36At least as far as this goes. Yeah, and so that's the frustrating part
19:40It just feels like blue balls on the same thing again and again and again. That's like just say it dude. Just yeah
19:46Different blue balls every week or you know tease portions of it until we get the whole picture

19:53I mean, I suppose there's an argument to be made that we they have teased portions of it indirectly

20:02We know that something went down and they've been keeping it secret this whole time
20:06But it's like what is that and I wonder as well if maybe there's some sort of connection to the Sith
20:13They are like, yeah, but it seems strange because it was all women there
20:17So like what would he have done but that would be cool. Yeah, the the show has definitely improved as it's gone along
20:24It's just that episode three and four were so rough
20:26You know one and two were promising three and four was like and then the last week was like really cool action
20:32Yeah, and this one really gave us that stuff that you know, it feels like master and Paduan, you know
20:39Yeah in the best of ways. Yeah, I think that it's just done effectively at least from his part
20:44I don't know how I don't I don't know if I'm a hundred percent on board with the the actress who's playing. Oh, sure
20:50She's got her moments. Yeah, right, but like there are some moments. I'm just like, okay, whatever. Let's just keep moving forward
20:56I mean, it's like I don't hate it. I don't love it. It's just like it just exists
21:00Whereas he is like he's giving a lot of stuff. There's like a lot of layers
21:04The Sith Lord, yeah, he's got a lot going on that's interesting whether he is playing like the you know, the goobery guy or
21:12you know revealing himself or he's or he's like
21:15Walking her through this stuff, you know making her his Paduan like that. It's it's he's got interesting layers to him
21:21That's fun to watch. Yeah, he's making the character just so cool because yeah
21:27Like you said he's he's using everything at his disposal and he's kind of drawing us the audience in
21:34With this sense of enigma and mystery. It's like who are you though?
21:39You're saying things that like makes sense
21:42It makes me feel like I would probably be drawn to the dark side. Yeah, you know like quite easily
21:48I think the biggest issue with the stuff with soul and and kind of prolonging this
21:55You know the delaying this information, I think the biggest issue with it is
21:59What could he possibly say that makes it satisfying to have waited six episodes or seven episodes to learn, right?
22:06You know, there was this okay
22:08I'm about to share something from Game of Thrones house of the dragon episode three
22:13I think is what we saw right right towards the end of the episode
22:15I won't be specific in case you haven't seen it. But towards the end of the episode there was this like
22:20Delay of information that was happening and I thought that they were just gonna cut off the episode before they actually gave it to us
22:26But they gave it to us and it was so satisfying
22:28But then what they did with the information on top of that made it even more
22:32Interesting and they took it further in a direction that I wasn't expecting which I should have because it's Game of Thrones
22:36But all that to say is they didn't make us wait several episodes to get that info, right?
22:40Right, it's like they gave it to us and they expanded on it from there to give us somewhere to go mentally emotionally
22:47Whatever to be excited for the next thing. Whereas it's like this
22:50It's like I don't think there's anything he could possibly say that makes it worth the weight of seven episodes, right?
22:54if you are gonna do that, it better be freaking mind-blowing like just

23:01Yeah, I feel like yeah, it might not be and also like you say take it further like keep surprising the audience
23:10That's how you keep people coming back. Yeah, I'm guessing what we're gonna learn is that you know

23:21Yeah, I suppose the idea is that soul is like corrupted as well. He's a corrupted Jedi or something like that
23:27It's all about corruption. I mean, it's literally baked into the title
23:30Yeah, you know and so the question then becomes like who is actually the corrupt everybody corrupt. Everybody's corrupted. It's okay
23:37Nobody's perfect. You know what I mean? Anyway a fun episode
23:41Or at least like most of it was fun, I really wish they deleted that stuff with the Jedi's well, okay
23:47I understand that you enjoyed it. I'm glad you enjoyed it
23:49I I didn't enjoyed his funny little weird moments, but you're right
23:54It it could have been taken out and it wouldn't have changed the story at all
23:59I I don't know if they just decided they like this character or they like this actor and they wanted to give him a little
24:04Bit more screen time or if he's going to become a more important character
24:09I I just think about what is most effective with storytelling, right?
24:13If your first realization that the Jedi are following up on things is seeing Jackie's
24:18Jackie's head facing the camera and the Jedi behind her. That's a great shot. Like that was a great reveal
24:24It's like okay, that is where you start with these characters because that's the most interesting place to start, right?
24:30You know all this nonsense leading up to it's just like faffing and it's jokes that are not funny to me
24:36You know to me and maybe maybe there's a whole bunch of audience that is humored by it
24:40I just think it's a waste of time like the whole thing about her having nausea through space that didn't even come up and I'm
24:45Like, okay. Yeah, you're right. That's silly
24:47Yeah, unless it comes up like in a later episode or something and they're like she barfs while they're going through hyperspace
24:54It would be me
24:56It was played for laughs it amused the director or the writer or the showrunners and I'm like not necessary
25:02You needed to focus group this shit because it wasn't that funny in my opinion
25:06But like I'm not a comedy writer
25:07So maybe it was funny to the editors and to the producers and actors and they couldn't stop laughing on set
25:13You know, maybe it was funny to them. It didn't tickle me. So sure
25:17So for me, it just felt like wait two scenes wasted that could have been used for soul speech or something
25:23Yeah, or like more
25:26character building or relationship building between
25:29Osha and the set I've been like teetering on like which direction to go and I've been holding judgment
25:36But I'm not in love with the acting from the green Jedi lady. There's something about her acting
25:40I'm just like she's delivering the lines and then that's I don't know what to say about it. I just don't love the performance
25:46So here's what I'm wondering. I'm wondering if maybe that performance is kind of showing us the audience that there is
25:54Something else that she is hiding that's right. We've suspected. Yeah, that's that's that's kind of the sense that I've been getting
26:01it's like she's not completely like
26:03100% honest about anything and so I'm also wondering if we're gonna get some sort of reveal from her
26:11about stuff that went down and like maybe she's not as you know upfront and
26:17good as
26:19She ought to be as a Jedi. Yeah, and maybe that's kind of informing her acting choices. Yeah
26:25I don't know. Yeah, I won't know until the end
26:27This is this is repetitive at this point
26:29But I think that that scene covered a lot of what the previous two scenes were trying to do
26:32it's like they're investigating shit now and
26:35in that scene you hear like the echoes of what transpired and like
26:39Her kind of figuring it all out and what the scene tells you is they figured this shit out
26:43They got a lot of the data except they're not exactly sure what souls about, you know
26:47There was this sort of accusation that came up like maybe soul did this and that's like an interesting thought, you know, right?
26:54And so the questions that rose out of that scene were interesting stuff and then it leaves it's like yes
27:01That's a good scene
27:03For the most part like that was that was some decent scenes like in terms of the writing
27:08So again, I must emphasize what the why do they keep those two previous scenes?
27:13It's just a waste
27:15Anyway, I don't want to beat a dead horse. So you guys
27:20Yeah, I enjoyed this episode more and it has been improving thankfully because I was ready to like, you know for it to not
27:26But it's been getting better. And so I'm looking forward to seeing how you know, this program how many episodes we got left one two
