01:44What's the matter, Keda? Why haven't you left yet?
01:47Master, we can't enter this village without food.
01:52Keda, you are now a wise man.
01:58A wise man must overcome all obstacles without holding back.
02:03In this life, what can be accepted and what cannot be accepted,
02:09even if they live in the middle of the forest,
02:11they are still calm and determined to accept everything that happens in life.
02:17But this is my past. This is where I left off.
02:21Keda, the past is over. Now you are a monk.
02:28You are a wise man. Be brave to face the past.
02:33Now this is the direction of your life.
02:38And Keda, the truth is not because you are hungry,
02:44but it is an opportunity to transform the souls of all beings.
02:50Let's go.
02:586 months later
03:15What's wrong, girl?
03:17Oh, my God!
03:21It's you! You're shameless and shameless!
03:26How dare you come here, Keda?
03:32How dare you come back to this village?
03:34Today I will kill you. Keda, I will kill you.
03:38What are you doing? He is a scoundrel.
03:41He is not a scoundrel. He is the son of my daughter.
03:45Last year, he married my daughter.
03:47Then he became a scoundrel. It's good that he became a scoundrel.
03:50But my daughter had to live in pain.
03:52His parents blamed my daughter.
03:55Then he brought my daughter back here.
03:57My daughter's life was ruined by him.
04:01If he wanted to be a scoundrel,
04:03why did he marry my daughter?
04:06Why did he marry my daughter?
04:08After I married her,
04:10I still didn't understand anything about liberation.
04:13I wanted to be liberated from the pain of life.
04:15I wanted to be at peace.
04:18By chance, I heard Buddha speak French.
04:21Then he told me to be a scoundrel.
04:25It's because he humiliated you.
04:28He led me astray.
04:30I won't listen to you.
04:32You borrowed a machine to hide your responsibility as a scoundrel.
04:35Because you felt that life was not easy,
04:37you ran away to be a scoundrel, didn't you?
04:39He gave up all the joys of this world.
04:43He gave up everything,
04:46but he still thought he was a scoundrel.
04:50Yes, he was a scoundrel.
04:52No, he was a brave man.
04:55He gave up everything to be liberated.
05:00This job requires courage,
05:03not what ordinary people can do.
05:06Please calm down.
05:09Think about it.
05:11If he had lived with your daughter,
05:14he wouldn't have brought her happiness.
05:19At least your daughter has escaped this suffering.
05:24You taught him all this nonsense.
05:27He can't escape.
05:29Hey, what are you doing?
05:31Hey, stop right there.
05:33He is Mongalana.
05:35He is the one who taught many people how to be liberated.
05:38Hurry up.
05:42He made my daughter suffer.
05:45I won't forgive him.
05:47I won't forgive him.
06:17I won't forgive him.
06:48Take this.
06:50Every day, you go out to eat.
06:53Every day, you preach to people.
06:56You are old.
06:59You shouldn't suffer like this.
07:03Or do you think that among the good teachers,
07:06who can shoulder this responsibility?
07:11Anang, I don't worry about these things.
07:15My feet have always been with me
07:19on this path of liberation.
07:23And those teachers will lead us forward.
07:30Those teachers are the first disciples
07:35who walk on my path of liberation.
07:40One of them is my general.
07:43He is Sariputta.
07:45The second one is Mongalana.
07:48Both of them are wise.
07:50And they are also generous.
07:54Sariputta is my right foot.
07:58And my left foot is Mongalana.
08:02Buddha.
08:08Be careful.
08:13Be careful.
08:21Sariputta, I love you.
08:26Mongalana has left.
08:44Mongalana has left.
08:57The funeral of Mongalana,
09:01I will attend.
09:14Mongalana has taken on the responsibility of the funeral.
09:19We should not neglect him.
09:23Mongalana is like this fire.
09:28Be brave and go forward.
09:31The life of Mongalana will bring you great prosperity.
09:37A wise person like Mongalana will live forever.
09:42He will always accompany us and be our source of energy.
09:51He will use his bones to help us.
09:55And his name will be passed on forever.
10:02The next day
10:11Buddha has come.
10:14We would like to eat your food.
10:17Please allow us to take a rest at that corner.
10:21Please allow us to take a rest.
10:24Bach Theton, please allow us to take a rest.
10:28I am very tired.
10:30Can you not speak French today?
10:32Hey, Anan,
10:34the immeasurable truth
10:37is not in the empty space,
10:40but in your heart.
10:49Have you all kept the Five Precepts?
10:53Yes, we have.
10:55Therefore, today, let us all make sure
11:00that for the children,
11:03we must love and protect them.
11:07And for the adults,
11:10we must love and take care of them.
11:13We must be empathetic
11:16to those who try.
11:20For the weak,
11:22no matter how wrong they are,
11:25we must treat them generously.
11:28We must remember that
11:30these opportunities
11:32are everywhere in our lives.
11:36Dear Buddha,
11:37sometimes we are afraid to do things that are wrong with the Dharma.
11:42If you feel guilty about these actions,
11:46then when you do wrong things,
11:49you must regularly change your behavior.
11:52Our thoughts
11:55have created our human beings.
11:58If our thoughts are not good,
12:01they will manifest through our actions.
12:04Suffering and pain also arise from that.
12:06It is like a wheel spinning in the direction of a person's foot.
12:10In our hearts,
12:11we always think of good things.
12:13Your doing is also a good deed.
12:17And that happiness
12:19will always be with you in this life.
12:25So what about other problems in life?
12:28Please teach me.
12:29In short,
12:30there are only three most important things.
12:33First,
12:35do we love sincerely?
12:39Second,
12:41do we live honestly?
12:46Third,
12:48can we let go of everything
12:50if we take one more step forward?
12:55Master,
12:57Master Thich Nhat Hanh
12:59has just arrived from Na La village
13:01and has brought us the news of Master Sariputra.
13:07The purpose of our life
13:10is to seek the meaning of life.
13:12When we sacrifice ourselves,
13:14when we sacrifice our heart and mind,
13:17that is when we can see the truth of life.
13:36What is the news of Master Sariputra and Master Chandra?
13:39Master Sariputra
13:41Master Sariputra has entered the nirvana, Master.
13:51Master, you have returned to Na La village.
13:55You spend most of the night with your father.
13:58But your mother has passed away.
14:02After that,
14:04Master also decided to enter the nirvana.
14:09Master has called you here
14:11and told you that after Master has entered the nirvana,
14:14you should bring the altar
14:17along with Master's body
14:20to give to Master.
14:30Master Sariputra also said
14:33that Master's wish
14:36is to leave before the Buddha.
14:50Master,
14:52I heard that Master Sariputra has entered the nirvana.
14:57I was very anxious.
15:00It was as if I had completely lost consciousness.
15:04There was only a blank void in my mind.
15:08I really didn't know what to do.
15:12Ananga,
15:15Master Sariputra has left.
15:19I have brought along my wish,
15:22my knowledge,
15:24my hearing,
15:26my meditation,
15:29my freedom,
15:32and everything else according to Master's will.
15:36No, Bach Thay Tung.
15:38No.
15:40When Master Sariputra was still alive,
15:43he was the one who always kept the precepts,
15:47passed on the wisdom to the masters,
15:50taught them,
15:52and encouraged them.
15:57According to the story of Master Moggallana
16:01and Master Sariputra,
16:05there is a blank void in my mind.
16:08I don't say it out loud, but I know it hurts.
16:11Have you forgotten, Ananga?
16:14Do you still remember?
16:16I once told you
16:19that life and death are like shadows.
16:23They come together,
16:25and then disperse.
16:28All the precepts are impermanent.
16:31You should not cling to them.
16:34Life and death.
16:37The sun is silent.
16:40The sun is bright.
16:43You need to get over those things.
16:47Master Sariputra is like a strong branch of a tree.
16:51He sacrifices his life
16:54to nurture the entire tree.
16:58But the branch
17:01is still inside the tree.
17:04That tree is the Sangha.
17:08It gathers according to the precepts.
17:12It is growing all over the world.
17:16Hey, Ananga.
17:19When you open your eyes, you will see
17:23Master Sariputra
17:26appearing in these branches,
17:29where the moon is,
17:32among the people he once taught,
17:36also in Tathagata,
17:39on the paths he once marked.
17:44Don't think that Master Sariputra has left us.
17:49He is always with us.
17:59Hey, my dear teachers.
18:04Master Sariputra has arrived in Japan.
18:08Today I want to remind you
18:12that you should make your own lamp.
18:15That victory only belongs to you.
18:20And remember that
18:23the victory of yourself is more important
18:26than the victory of others.
18:29No one will be able to take it away.
18:34Whether it is the Buddha
18:38or Atula,
18:41whether it is the sky
18:46or hell,
19:12I'm sorry I'm so late today.
19:20Ananga,
19:23today we are in the forest
19:27observing closely each branch.
19:41In each branch,
19:44we can see Master Sariputra.
20:12You shouldn't call me Siddhartha,
20:15you should call me Ananga.
20:41Siddhartha
21:11Ananga
21:14Ananga
21:39What are you looking at in the sky?
21:43I'm looking at the appearance of people
21:47who have left according to the laws of nature.
21:52They are no longer in this world.
21:58Ananga
22:12Ananga
22:15We will not stay here anymore.
22:20We will go to Vaisali.
22:24We will go to Velluvan.
22:40Even though you have lost your left and right feet,
22:44no one can be as fearless as you, Siddhartha.
22:50Before the departure of Master Moggallana and Master Sariputra,
22:55we can't help but feel sad.
22:58We have to observe more and more
23:01the departure of the self-righteous and selfless people.
23:20The scenery of Vaisali is so beautiful.
23:25Even the gods of the temple are shining brightly.
23:33Ananga
23:36We will rest in Jamba Temple for a while.
23:50Siddhartha, please rest here.
23:53I will go out for meditation.
24:19Vaisali
24:50Why is Vaisali so calm?
24:58Oh my god! What's going on?
25:01It's an earthquake!
25:02Run! Run!
25:03Vaisali, I hope you are okay.
25:04Hurry up! Hurry up!
25:07Run!
25:11Are you okay?
25:14Suddenly, Vaisali was silent.
25:17Then suddenly, the ground was shaking.
25:24Vaisali, this is a forecast of an accident.
25:32Ananga
25:36Come and sit with me for a while.
25:42Please teach me.
25:50Ananga
25:53I have decided.
25:58After three months
26:12Vaisali
26:24Vaisali
26:27What did you say?
26:31You must have heard it wrong.
26:34After three months
26:37I will go to Japan.
26:42Why did you make such a decision?
26:44What you said is not true.
26:46Are you testing me?
26:49Every human being
26:51has to die when he is born.
26:56Ananga, I am a strange creature.
27:00But my body
27:02has reached its limit.
27:05I am at the end of my life.
27:10For the past 80 years
27:15I have seen so many times
27:18the sky rising
27:20the moon setting
27:23birth and then death.
27:27I have realized
27:30that my life is not easy anymore.
27:33Have I ever been unkind to you?
27:37Have I ever been unkind to you?
27:41How could you leave this world?
27:45How could you leave your disciples?
27:51Please forgive us.
27:54Please forgive your disciples.
27:57Please.
28:03Ananga
28:06Look at me.
28:15Do you believe in your Tathagata?
28:20Then think about it.
28:23Is my decision reasonable?
28:30In three months
28:34I will let go of this body.
28:39Wipe away your tears, Ananga.
28:43Concentrate.
28:45Your responsibility is very heavy.
28:50Ananga
28:52Please collect all your talents
28:55and concentrate on the Tathagata path.
28:59I will tell you my last words there.
29:02I can't do it.
29:05My heart is so confused.
29:07I can't do it.
29:09The biggest failure in human life
29:12is to avoid our own abilities.
29:16I still don't know how much
29:18your patience will grow.
29:20Will you really leave us?
29:23Ananga
29:26If you want to walk on this path
29:31you have to become that path first.
29:57Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
30:01You don't want me to leave?
30:05Do you?
30:09Forbid me.
30:14You have brought the real suffering to others.
30:17Look at the young people.
30:21I'm full of my heart, Ananga.
30:23Master
30:26Tichel and Tichelni in the forest
30:28have combined the Tathagata path.
30:31It's time to go there now.
30:39How beautiful is Vaisali!
30:45This is the last time Tathagata looks at Vaisali.
30:50Hey Ananga
30:52Snakes can peel off old skin
30:56and become a new form.
30:58That's how it is.
31:00You should also let go of the past.
31:05Today, after the Dharma teaching
31:07we will go to the Three Jewels.
31:37The Three Jewels
31:44The Three Jewels
31:49Anyone who wants to hear the truth
31:52our doors are always open to welcome them.
31:57Not because of their vana nature
32:01but because of their distinction.
32:12I am like a small stream in the Chánh Pháp River.
32:18Now thousands of small streams
32:20are flowing into that river.
32:47Master
32:57Is it true that in three months
32:59Buddha will enter the Great Nirvana?
33:01I really can't believe it.
33:04That's right.
33:05You are really a wise man.
33:08You came here to tell us the Dharma
33:10for the last time.
33:13Every time I think of the day
33:15when I was about to enter the Great Nirvana
33:17I can't help but tremble.
33:21Today, I witnessed with my own eyes
33:26how each small stream
33:28merged into the Great Nirvana.
33:33There are three principles
33:36that anyone can follow.
33:41The first one is to have a big heart.
33:45The second one is to speak freely.
33:48The third one is to use one's personality
33:50to spread the Dharma throughout one's life.
33:54These three principles
33:57are the foundation
33:59to build one's personality
34:02and make one's life loving and friendly
34:07No matter how poor or rich one is
34:12life is full of suffering.
34:17The only difference is
34:19that each person's suffering is not the same.
34:25Up to this day,
34:27the wisdom that we pass on to our children
34:34is that they need to think carefully
34:37observe carefully
34:40and apply it in their practice.
34:43First, they need to learn and understand it
34:46so that they can share it with others.
34:50From this day on,
34:52they have to take on this heavy responsibility
34:56to spread the unsurpassed wisdom to all sentient beings.
35:02We should not believe in anything
35:04even if it is what we have said
35:07until our children learn and use their own wisdom.
35:13After that,
35:15they have to determine it completely
35:17and there is no doubt about it.
35:27All the Dharmas
35:31are impermanent.
35:33They are born and then die.
35:36They are born and then die.
35:39Children must always believe in them to be liberated.
35:44Three months from today,
35:47Tathagata will enter the Great Buddha Nibbana.
36:01The Great Buddha Nibbana
36:12Master Anuruddha,
36:14every time we go to the Buddha Nibbana,
36:16we hear the Buddha's words of opposition.
36:19The Buddha is like a big elephant with a high head.
36:23If he wants to destroy your image,
36:25he will only hurt himself with his words.
36:28Do you remember
36:29how the Buddha explained it in a simple way
36:31to Vaisali?
36:38The Buddha's words are completely opposite.
36:41He believes in the afterlife
36:43but he does not believe in the existence of the self.
36:46Without the self,
36:48how can there be an afterlife?
36:50You are right.
36:53But this is not a conflict.
36:56Without the self,
36:58how can there be an afterlife?
37:00What do you mean?
37:01Have you ever seen a mango tree?
37:04We take its seed, plant it in the ground,
37:06and it grows into a mango tree.
37:08Then it turns into a fruit.
37:11Could this be
37:13the afterlife of the mango tree?
37:18You are denying the truth.
37:20Dear sage,
37:21the first thing in the four precepts that you have given
37:24is that the world is suffering.
37:25The world is suffering.
37:26Life is suffering.
37:27Death is suffering.
37:28Life is full of suffering.
37:30Is this not a negative thought?
37:33You are not wrong.
37:35But why do I mention the first precept
37:37and then the second precept?
37:39That is the end of suffering.
37:41Speaking of the end of suffering,
37:44first of all,
37:45I explain
37:47what suffering is to everyone.
37:50I teach everyone
37:51how to overcome suffering.
37:53How can that be
37:55completely negative?
37:58You have come here
37:59to destroy this world
38:01so that all young people
38:02can go to work and earn money.
38:04I do not want to destroy the world.
38:06What I want
38:07is for everyone to give up
38:09the fake happiness
38:10that leads them to the abyss of life.
38:14To walk on this path,
38:15one must have courage.
38:17Only those who are brave
38:19can do it.
38:21In this vast world,
38:24everyone is calm.
38:27Every thought is focused on the mind.
38:30It is like walking on the tip of a knife.
38:34A young person who has not yet awakened
38:36can make his family
38:38become close to him.
38:41However,
38:42it is also possible
38:44that it will cause them
38:45great loss.
38:46In the same way,
38:48a person who has not yet awakened
38:50can make his family
38:51become close to him.
38:53A person who has not yet awakened
38:55can make his family
38:56become close to him.
38:58You are right.
38:59A person who has not yet awakened
39:00cannot be reborn.
39:02When all the soldiers
39:03become prisoners,
39:04they want to show their dignity,
39:06but they always feel guilty.
39:09You are right.
39:11However,
39:12not being reborn
39:13is a transgression.
39:15A person who has not yet awakened
39:16cannot be reborn.
39:19However,
39:20love can do this.
39:22This is the law of nature.
39:26Everyone is afraid of death.
39:29If you have the same thought
39:31when you have awakened,
39:34then you will be free
39:36from violence.
39:46If you have the same thought
39:48when you have awakened,
39:50then you will be free

40:31and brought it
40:32in front of the monks.

41:38There are things that can be described with words,
41:42but there are things that cannot be described with words.
41:46I have brought those words to Mahākāsabha.
41:51Ananda, if the wonder of the blooming flowers
41:56can be observed through the eyes of our guru,
42:01then your entire life will be completely changed.
42:06I would like to hear more, Venerable Thay.
42:09That white lotus flower,
42:12its life begins in the water.
42:19It blooms, grows, and then stands still in the water.
42:27It is the same.
42:30I will bring the truth of liberation
42:35to this world of reincarnation.
42:40Ananda, it is time for me to go to Bava.
42:46My disciple, Kunda, will accompany me to have lunch.
42:53Before I go to the altar, I want him to make a wish.
42:59There are three principles that anyone can practice.
43:04The first is to have a big heart.
43:06The second is to speak in a beautiful way.
43:08The third is to use your own words to spread them throughout your life.
43:13These three principles are the foundation for building human nature.
