00:00Are you having a nice first bath?
00:03Yeah, pretty skinny man.
00:05When we bathed him, I could feel every bone in his body.
00:09At first, he wasn't really eating.
00:14Hey, what are you doing?
00:17He was just sleeping all day long.
00:20I was like, okay, maybe he's just jet lagged. He's getting used to it.
00:23Hi, baby.
00:25But those concerns grew, like within a week.
00:30We took him to a vet. They tested him for things, and he came back negative for everything.
00:43He was still super lethargic.
00:47And then his first nosebleed happened.
00:52Shh, it's okay.
00:54We took him to another vet for some more testing, and they did a whole bunch of blood work.
00:59He was like, he tested positive for tick-borne disease, and we can treat it.
01:03And I was like, crying. I couldn't believe he was going to be okay.
01:08Literally, I haven't been able to get anybody to eat for like three days.
01:13And obviously, I'm super worried about him.
01:16And he just went over to his bowl and started eating on his own.
01:22Once he got better, it was like, oh, you have this whole personality that I didn't even know about.
01:26Woo!
01:29I didn't know what kind of dog Levi really was, aside from being like tired, sweet, and loving.
01:35He's also crazy and very high-energy.
01:41He loves to play with other dogs.
01:47Got your best friend. Okay, ready? Go say hi!
01:51Hi!
01:55Hi, Bubba.
01:57When his first snowfall hit, I have not seen him so frisky before in my life.
02:03We got to discover what snow was. That was his new favorite thing. I couldn't get him inside.
02:07Coming in? No, I'm not coming out.
02:11He could finally just like be this usky that he is and run through the snow, like full speed ahead, not being held back by being sick or tired.
02:22In the winter, I can just let him out the door and he'll come back in, you know, 30 minutes, an hour later.
02:29One day, Levi wouldn't come in, so I just, you know, post up where I can see him out the window.
02:33I just see him get up and his tail start wagging and I'm like, what? Like, what is going on?
02:37This little boy who lives upstairs, walk into our backyard and start like throwing snowballs for him and like laying down and getting kisses.
02:47Such like a wholesome, sweet Levi moment.
02:51Levi has been a ray of light for people. He can make anybody smile.
03:00Every time I spoil him, I almost feel like I'm trying to compensate for that terrible start that he had.
03:05I just want him to live the best life a dog can live.
03:21He's the best.
