00:00The Royals pick up play in the month of July at Kauffman
00:07Stadium hosting the Rays. KCA home favorite tonight against
00:11Tampa. Both of these clubs though, end of the month of
00:13June, better than it began. KC won its final two series
00:18including taking three of four from the Red Hot Guardians this
00:21weekend against Cleveland. They had dropped eleven of fourteen
00:26prior to their last two. They've now won five of seven.
00:29The Rays hovering around 500 again and even 42 and 42 mark
00:34entering July. What gives tonight in KC? Eighty-five
00:38degrees. Double digit wins blowing out the dead center
00:41field. That is going to help us. Now, hear me out on this
00:43because you do have a Tampa Bay Rays lineup that does
00:45project decently against right-handed pitchers but let's
00:48take a look at Brady Singer here and focus on the last 30
00:51days. It's been a little bit elevated for him. 119 batters
00:54he's faced. A 193 ISO which is high and a weighted on base
00:57percentage of 339 which is high. Left-handed batters doing
01:00all the damage against them. He's very good against
01:03right-handed batters. So, if we take a look at some of the
01:05lefties in the lineup, Brandon Lau, Josh Lowe. I always love
01:08that Lowe and Lau on the same team here. Both of those guys
01:10are elevated with legitimate chances but hear me out on this.
01:13This is where the game is going to be won. We know much of a
01:15pitching environment you get down in Tampa Bay. Granted, this
01:18game is in Kansas City. Look at Singer at home this season, Ben.
01:2154 and two-thirds innings pitch. How about a 280 ERA and
01:24a 3.05 X-fifth number? The reason I wanted to bring up
01:27that split is because now we can take a look on the opposite
01:30side with Littel on the mound and how he's been handling his
01:33situations outside of the friendly pitching confines.
01:36He's got a 513 ERA to 33 and a third innings pitched on the
01:39road and an X-fifth number of 4.29. Now, if we're taking a
01:43look at some of the batters in that lineup for Kansas City, we
01:45got good ones here. How about this? Seven of the nine batters
01:48today. All positives here with weighted on base percentage and
01:51ISO power numbers. Our guy Bobby Witt, 236 ISO, weighted on
01:55base percentage, 363. Vinny P, 213 ISO, 362 weighted on base
02:00percentage. My guy Michael Massey, even though it's only
02:0212 at-bats that he's had against right-handed pitching
02:04since coming back off of the IL, a 364 ISO and a 415 weighted
02:08on base percentage. Hunter Renfro, one of those guys you
02:11never hear from. How about this, Ben? 44 at-bats against
02:13right-handed pitchers over the past 30 days, a 395 ISO and a
02:17494 weighted on base percentage. The Royals with a
02:21better play tonight. We'll probably get some runs and RBI
02:23opportunities aplenty from those Kansas City Royals. Pretty
02:26good-looking squad tonight.
