00:00So of course, Josh, the big news late on Sunday night after the first few hours of NBA free
00:10agency was relatively calm.
00:13We got our first big blockbuster, Paul George leaving Los Angeles and now a member of the
00:19Philadelphia 76ers four year deal worth $212 million.
00:24What was your immediate reaction to Paul George heading to Philly?
00:30Reaction honestly was, I can't believe the plan that they laid out in front of us for
00:35the last year is actually happening.
00:38You remember back, uh, Daryl Mori kind of laid out the path for last season started
00:43when there weren't any free agency moves, there weren't any names and everybody kind
00:48of started hitting the panic button.
00:50They kind of laid it all out and said, Hey, don't worry.
00:53We're just bringing on these one year deal.
00:57We're focused on the next off season.
00:59Obviously, Paul George was a pipe dream at that point.
01:02I never in a million years think the entire Philadelphia thought that, Hey, this is going
01:07to actually happen.
01:08So initial thought was unbelievable.
01:11This is really happening because the fit between him, Chris Maxie and Joel Embiid, when healthy,
01:17I have to very much express that when healthy is absolutely perfect.
01:23And I do agree, Josh, because you're taking a look at Paul George coming over and it's
01:26really a two pronged attack because me as a 76ers fan could say, Hey, we got the best
01:30player available.
01:31It's going to be awesome.
01:32But the odds market also reflects how good a move that was for Paul George coming over
01:37to the Philadelphia 76ers and some other parts.
01:39But can you talk to us here on where Paul George actually fits in with the Sixers in
01:43the rotation?
01:44What are the expectations for Paul George and the Sixers next year?
01:49Absolutely.
01:50I think he fits in perfectly on both ends of the floor.
01:53I think people are forgetting that he is a good defensive player.
01:57Now look, he's not going to go out there and win the player, but Philadelphia has not had
02:02a wing stopper.
02:03They traded for one last year and Robert Covington, who led the league in deflections over several
02:07centuries, took him out.
02:10Being able to plug Paul George in there into that spot, again, alongside Tyrese Maxey and
02:15the anchor of that defense, Joel Embiid, is going to change everything.
