00:00I just don't watch a lot of reality television.
00:08Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the most notable mistakes,
00:13breakdowns and or unexpected complications that made SNL sketches funnier.
00:20Ben, you got screwed.
00:21Oh, you think, Todd?
00:25Number 10. Chris Farley as Bennett Brower.
00:28In this moment from Weekend Update, Chris Farley comes out with ready-to-use air quotes.
00:34Well, maybe I don't look the part. I'm not svelte.
00:41His character, Bennett Brower, delivers his commentary with lots of emphasis and
00:45self-deprecation. The key moment comes when Farley prepares to lift off,
00:50but his wires get caught. Kevin Nealon then has to help his co-star out of a bind.
00:58Wee! I have a weight problem. Can't they lift me?
01:04The lead performer improvises through it all, making this even funnier. Even Nealon has to
01:10laugh as he and the crew come to the rescue. All of the mistakes make this even more memorable,
01:15with Farley's eventual flight packing even more of a punch after the build-up.
01:29Number 9. Inside the Beltway.
01:33This skit features a mishap that rarely happens on SNL. In the middle of the sketch,
01:38a stagehand walks out before her cue. This gets cast members like Aidy Bryant laughing
01:44for the rest of the sketch. Even a well-oiled machine like Saturday Night Live runs into
01:52problems, with this one being a funny glimpse at the behind-the-scenes talent.
01:57The laughter is contagious as Cecily Strong also joins in the breaking.
02:06While this mistake might not happen again, we do appreciate the fact that it prompts
02:10such a huge response. The scene probably wouldn't be remembered if not for this funny misstep.
02:21Number 8. Hollywood Dish with Scarlett Johansson.
02:25This movie star tries to survive an interview with two crazy journalists.
02:29The questions keep coming until the interviewers do a spit-take, resulting in a huge splash.
02:41Kristen Wiig ends up covered in slushy as Bill Hader tries to keep a straight face.
02:46Scarlett Johansson even breaks after watching Hader help wipe Wiig off.
02:56It's not hard to imagine why the laughs keep coming. Making the sketch even better,
03:05the three look like they're enjoying themselves the entire time.
03:09The drink definitely makes this skit even more hilarious,
03:12letting the wild physical comedy take over.
03:25Number 7. Court Show. Providing chaos to this premise,
03:29dogs don't always do what they're supposed to do. Cecily Strong's judge tries to keep order
03:35despite one unruly co-star. She holds a puppy while delivering lines, but laughs as the pet loses it.
03:42Well, let me tell you something.
03:46The dog park is a place for fun and tolerance.
03:51This enjoyable and off-script moment gives the skit the edge it needs.
03:56There's already a legion of canines here,
03:58but one in particular provides this scene with an entertaining mistake.
04:02Now, she rides around in a little football helmet, okay? Think about that.
04:09It's honestly surprising that there isn't another problem,
04:14given all of the other four-legged stars.
04:17In the final minutes, Strong breaks once more after all of the initial craziness.
04:22We kind of wish they'd bring back more animals just to try this again.
04:39Number 6. Massive Head Wound Harry.
04:43Dana Carvey's character walks into this sketch with a bad injury.
04:46He has a prosthetic on to mimic the wound, but then a pet gets a hold of it.
04:57The canine almost rips off part of the headpiece as Carvey tries to keep it.
05:02With the audience losing it, this happy accident is just plain fun to watch.
05:08We also love to see a dog there to liven things up.
05:20The lead actor also manages to work through the mistake while staying in character.
05:24Teetering between professional and unprofessional,
05:27this skit is exactly what you need to cheer yourself up.
05:38Number 5. Super Showcase Spokesmodels.
05:43When you let Maya Rudolph and Kristen Wiig do crazy accents,
05:47you open the door for skits like this one.
05:58The actresses also do some fantastic physical comedy here.
06:02Once they start to break, both performers just go with the flow.
06:06Bill Hader also laughs at the many fumbles throughout this skit.
06:21Rudolph and Wiig crack each other up as they show off prizes,
06:25making every second that much better.
06:28These all-stars steer the scene to a close with golf cart crashes and hilarious surprises.
06:33Regardless of the mistakes, this still ranks among the performers' finest sketches.
06:48Number 4. Lisa from Temecula.
06:51Some people really love their steak well done.
06:53The character Lisa orders one and cuts into it,
07:03shaking the table throughout this wild sketch.
07:06Talk about a bold move for a scene on live television.
07:09Thankfully for us, the destruction prompts some hilarious breaks.
07:13Pedro Pascal looks to be having the time of his life.
07:24As the table settings shake, the ensemble leans into the absurd premise.
07:29Bowen Yang also loses it in a funny outburst near the end.
07:44Everything that goes wrong helps to make this yet another
07:47shining example of a beautiful disaster.
07:50Number 3. Close Encounter.
07:52This sketch features Ryan Gosling doing what he does best on SNL.
07:56He loves to laugh, and Close Encounter puts him to the test.
08:00The actor listens to Kate McKinnon's character give absurd speeches, eventually losing it.
08:10You can see the other cast members all distracted by their fellow performer.
08:14It makes the script more difficult to get through,
08:17but it also gives the skit massive replay value.
08:22And how did the aliens return you all to Earth?
08:28Oh, I was carried down gently.
08:34He's crying.
08:36McKinnon's dialogue is so crazy that it's surprising nobody fell over laughing.
08:41By the end, Gosling can barely get his lines out as he tries to stop giggling.
08:46Ben, you got screwed.
08:49Oh, you think, Todd?
08:50Number 2. Girlfriend's Game Night.
08:53Bill Hader enters this scene funny and leaves it in shambles.
08:58We couldn't ask for anything more, gasping for breath after laughing so hard at his character.
09:03Oh, yeah.
09:04Oh, my cards are terrible.
09:06Oh, yeah.
09:07Oh, yeah.
09:08Oh, I'm so sorry.
09:09Oh, I'm so sorry.
09:10Oh, I'm so sorry.
09:11Oh, I'm so sorry.
09:12Oh, I'm so sorry.
09:12Oh, I'm so sorry.
09:13Oh, I'm so sorry.
09:14Oh, I'm so sorry.
09:15I'm sorry. You know what? I just, I can't do this.
09:19Hader also has to laugh after running into the set and his co-stars.
09:23The actor even has to hide his face behind Cecily Strong,
09:26having shifted the furniture with his motorized scooter.
09:29You used to be ashamed of yourselves.
09:37This woman is your friend. She always dreamed of being a mom.
09:40It's a ridiculous premise to begin with,
09:42but the result couldn't have been more hilarious.
09:45You couldn't have written a better way to throw this scene a curveball.
09:48Luckily for the audience, standards and practices didn't shut this down before it got to air.

10:19Debbie Downer is a recurring skit, but most people remember this particular version.
10:24It's easy to see why because this is a straight up catastrophe.
10:28You couldn't ask for more of a chaotic fail than this one,
10:31prompting some of the most laughter by an ensemble ever.
10:36We may never know how many people perished.
10:41Rachel Dratch can barely say her lines at one point,
10:51giggling through a historical breakdown in SNL history.
11:00By the way, it's official.
11:11It's so much fun that you can never watch it too many times.
11:19This whole sketch feels like lightning in a bottle,
11:22making it unlikely that it could ever be duplicated.
11:25I didn't say a word during It's a Small World when you talked about low birth weight,
11:28or during the fireworks when you went about about feline AIDS.
11:34It's the number one killer of domestic cats.
11:40Did we forget another amusing disaster? Let us know in the comments.
11:45Well, that's all the time we have here.
11:47Oh my god! Shonda got decapitated,
11:49but she's still walking around showing things from the convex stage!
11:53Come on Debra, let's go check this out!
