00:11The white kufa was a headscarf for men in the rural and Bedouin areas in the Arab East.
00:19In 1936, with the outbreak of the great Palestinian revolution,
00:25and because most of the revolutionaries were from the villages,
00:29the British colonist considered it a place of suspicion and a place of arrest.
00:36The leaders of the Palestinian revolution rejected the unification of the kufa and the headscarf
00:41as a headscarf for all Palestinians,
00:44so that the revolutionaries' discrimination and their arrest would not be tolerated,
00:48and it became a symbol of the struggle.
00:51In the 1940s, a kufa appeared in Palestine in a large scale,
00:55a kufa with a distinctive black and red pattern,
00:58and it bore special meanings for the Palestinian characters.
01:10In the 1960s, with the outbreak of the armed Palestinian struggle,
01:15the Palestinian sacrifice kufa became necessary,
01:18and it was associated with the individuals of the Palestinian identity and its liberation struggle,
01:23inspired by the liberation movements of colonization around the world.
