00:00I didn't think that one song would take me to another, and when the pandemic ended, I had a collection of demos and songs that I said,
00:09I want to go into the studio, record a new album and tell this and go on tour and return to music.
00:15I have always been very proud of my career as an actor, I still am to this day.
00:19The telenovelas were a beautiful stage, but they already fulfilled their cycle and they fulfilled it ten years ago.
00:25I made 20 telenovelas, and if I had to choose one, I would probably choose this one.
00:32When everything stopped in 2020 and we all saw ourselves confined in our homes,
00:41surely, like everyone else, our essence began to flourish and organically,
00:49I started writing music after a long time that I didn't do, I started writing songs.
00:54Curiously, the first song I wrote was Deja Vu, because, of course, when I saw myself writing songs again, I said,
01:00let's see, I've done this before, I'm enjoying it, it's not unknown to me,
01:06but I didn't think that one song would take me to another, and when the pandemic ended,
01:11I had a collection of demos and songs that I said,
01:16I want to go into the studio, record a new album and tell this and go on tour and return to music.
01:24I think Deja Vu, I think the first song I wrote, I think it was the one that somehow marked the tone of what would come next.
01:34Releasing new music almost 20 years later is an experience, it's an atypical event,
01:46but I think the reception has been quite good because, beyond the people who have always been with me
01:57during all these years, a new audience has appeared that has been adding up in some way,
02:06and the fact that, I don't know, the first single, when my version came out, the original version of Deja Vu,
02:12that has so many millions of streamings, both on music platforms and on YouTube,
02:21gives you an index of the impact that this return has had.
02:26Then having obviously resumed the live performances, which was what I did at the end and beginning of this year,
02:34I did a tour of four months, the first in my country, of performances where everything was sold out
02:41and where, in addition, I think it can be appreciated in one of the videos, which is the video of Nada Igual,
02:47which is one of the songs that has been recorded in this live tour, and you see a bit of the response of everyone.
02:53So I think it has been very positive, very positive. I am very happy with the reception and with everything that is coming now.
03:02I thought of Mikkel because what better than a feeling of Deja Vu, to do it with someone with whom you already had an experience,
03:15and to make a song again with Mikkel, for me, the fact that it is precisely in Deja Vu has a double meaning,
03:22not only what the lyrics are about, but also about us as colleagues, as collaborators,
03:31as artists, that we had had this experience more than 20 years ago, with a lot of success and with a lot of pleasure.
03:39Mikkel is someone I love very much, he is someone I adore, he has been a friend of mine for almost 25 years,
03:46but he has also been one of the people who inspired me to enter the world of music when I was a teenager.
03:56Mikkel is only a few years older than me, but he was one of those figures whom I admired when I was 15 years old.
04:07I have always been very proud of my career as an actor, I still am to this day.
04:11I think I'm still an actor, I keep working every time time allows me, but I never lost my musical essence.
04:22I have done some projects that are done without premiering, which should be premiered in this second semester.
04:28I receive offers for acting, proposals, I read scripts, but I have put a couple of conditions to be able to do them.
04:37The first is that I have to like it a lot, and the other is that it must fit my musical agenda,
04:42both as a promotion and as a live concert tour.
04:47So, I'm still an actor, but yes, I've become a musician again after a while.
04:56In 2014 it was the last time I did a telenovela, and in that I have been quite firm, and it is something that will not return.
05:09The last time I did a telenovela was a beautiful stage, but they already fulfilled their cycle, and they did it 10 years ago.
05:16Since then I have dedicated myself to making series and movies, but not anymore, in that genre they will not see me anymore.
05:26Again La Tormenta, I think it was the work that I have enjoyed the most in the world of telenovelas, that was the one I enjoyed the most.
05:33For me everything was new, it was probably the first great success that I had internationally, in a global way.
05:45But also the character, the character was fun, the group of people with whom I worked was also a very nice group.
05:53I think I enjoyed the story a lot, and I think that if I took one of all the telenovelas, I would probably take that one.
