Three drug-trafficking syndicates were busted following the seizure of drugs worth almost RM2mil.

A married couple, in their 40s, was among four people detained in raids conducted in Selangor from June 27 to July 1.

00:12Police Chief Commissioner Datuk Hussein Omar Khan told a press conference on Tuesday that
00:18in the first case, a married couple was detained following a raid in Puchong Jaya on June 27.
00:26Some 57 kilograms of shabu stored in seven plastic sacks were also seized. In the second
00:32case, a 48-year-old was detained at a parking lot in Jalan Sulai Man, Ampang at 4.45pm on
00:40June 29. A bag filled with 4.4 kilograms of heroin was seized from the suspect's car.
00:47The suspect tested negative for drugs but has three priors on his criminal record. In
00:52the third case, police seized 26.2 kilograms of ganja and detained a 34-year-old man at
00:58the Sungai Bulo rest stop at about 4.30am on July 1. The drugs were stored in the bonnet
01:05of the suspect's car. The suspect, who works as a cook, tested positive for THC.
01:22The suspect was detained for seven days under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Act and was investigated under Section 39B of the Criminal Procedure Act of 1952.
01:33If he is proven guilty, he can be sentenced to life imprisonment or up to 12 years in prison.
01:43Commissioner Hussein added that the drugs seized could have been supplied to over 150,500 users.
01:50He also urged the public to supply the police with information on drug-related activities.
