00:00You had been waiting for this moment for a long time, you had already been on the Tour de France,

00:05but you finally have a stage victory in the world's greatest race.

00:10What does it mean for you?

00:12Yeah, first of all, I would say thanks God for everything,

00:17for giving me all the strength, support, and yeah.

00:30Yeah, you know, since I started cycling,

00:40Tour de France was, yeah, I never dreamed to be part of Tour de France,

00:46but now, yeah, I can't believe it.

00:49To win in Tour de France, second year, in the big bunch sprint,

00:53yeah, for me was unbelievable.

00:56I just want to say thank you to my family, my wife, all the Eritreans and Africans.

01:01We must be proud.

01:03Now we are really part of the big races, and then we success a lot of victories,

01:09so now it's our moment, it's our time.

01:12Yeah, I just want to say congrats also to my whole team,

01:16especially Jean-Francois, because we didn't have a victory in Tour de France yet,

01:22but now it's our moment, and yeah, I'm super happy.

01:26Because this is a victory for you, it's a victory for Africa.

01:29Absolutely, yeah, this means, yeah, it's for all Africans, congrats, I would say.

01:35Yeah, I'm just super happy today.

01:38Take us through that final kilometre, beating the best sprinters in the world.

01:42Yeah, normally today our plan is to give a lead out for Gerben-Thyssen,

01:49and also if the circumstances are really difficult, I need to try for myself,

01:55so in the end our team did a really good job,

01:59but in the last 1K I lost the wheel of Gerben, and then I just tried myself,

02:04and yeah, it was unbelievable to win in front of the fastest in the world.

02:10For me it was really, yeah, it was a really big motivation.

02:15You're making history, enjoy the podium.
