00:00Artificalia Naturalia Exotica in Arsenale Miejskim
00:02We meet here because of the presentation of an unusual relic,
00:06which we have been showing since today at the exhibition
00:10Artificalia Naturalia Exotica in Arsenale Miejskim.
00:13It is about the so-called capsule of time.
00:16The capsule contained a newspaper, Breslauer Zeitung,
00:20from September 15, 1865,
00:23probably to confirm the date of what happened,
00:27and a document prepared by the two owners of the tenement houses,
00:33Karl Miller and Robert Kramer.
00:37In this document they described their actions.
00:41They decided to build a mansion,
00:45which was to serve the inhabitants of these two adjoining houses.
00:50The capsule will be presented at the time exhibition,
00:54which will be shown in Arsenale until the end of September this year.
00:59The capsule contained a newspaper, Breslauer Zeitung,
01:03from 1865,
01:06and a handwritten document confirming the moment of hiding,
01:10who hid this document and for what purpose,
01:14why this event took place.
01:17So they hid three neighbors living right next to this street
01:21in connection with the repair of the water network.
01:24So we have this precise date, 1865,
01:27and their signature, their signatures.
01:30We managed to determine where the gentlemen lived,
01:33what they did,
01:35so some traces of former Wrocław and former Wrocław.
01:38And this discovery, of course, is also a reason to discuss
01:41the supply of water to Wrocław,
01:44how the water systems looked like in the Old Town in Wrocław
01:47in the second half of the 19th century,
01:50but they were still basically medieval, right?
01:53So the moment of this repair,
01:56as it is professionally called,
01:59was probably related to some kind of accident that had to happen there.
02:02And for this reason, the gentlemen commemorated the repair
02:05by putting a newspaper into this leaden tube.
02:08Breslauer Zeitung is the most common newspaper
02:11published in the years 1820-1937 in Wrocław.
02:14published in the years 1820-1937 in Wrocław.
02:17There is no sensational content in this newspaper,
02:20it describes everyday life in Wrocław,
02:23what happened, the theatrical performances,
02:26what the political situation was like at the time,
02:29but the curiosity is this manuscript,
02:32which is an ink,
02:35we have a description of who hid, for what purpose,
02:38and we have the names of the gentlemen,
02:41and we managed to carry out such a small investigation.
