00:00No more options for the Gaza Strip US now opts to pressure Hamas
00:17Palestinian resistance makes a startling claim against Biden
00:23Osama Hamdan, Hamass representative in Lebanon has made a significant statement regarding
00:28the current state of negotiations and the movements position.
00:33Hamdan has asserted that the American administrations statements are aimed at pressuring Hamas to
00:38accept Israels truce proposal without modifications.
00:42He characterizes this as an attempt to improve the image of US administration, which he describes
00:48as ugly.
00:49Despite this criticism, Hamdan emphasizes that Hamas remains open to consider any proposal
00:54that includes a permanent ceasefire and a complete Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, and
01:00a comprehensive prisoner exchange deal.
01:03The war that started on 7 October following a surprise operation by Gazas resistance
01:08group against Israeli-occupied territories has resulted in devastating toll on Palestinian
01:13lives.
01:14Reports indicate that nearly 38,000 Palestinians, primarily women and children, have lost their
01:20lives, according to Gazas health ministry.
01:24And so, Hamas maintains that any acceptable truce deal must encompass these key elements
01:29 an end to the war, full withdrawal of the Israeli forces, and a genuine captive
01:34exchange deal.
01:35In contrast, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu insists on only temporary pause in fighting
01:40while the stated goal of eradicating Hamas remains constant.
01:45The movement, however, remains steadfast in its commitment to defend Gaza and assert that
01:50elimination from the territorys government is impossible.
01:54Now, recent reports are also suggesting that Biden is working on a new ceasefire proposal
02:00hoping to overcome Hamass opposition to the previously backed Israeli offer.
02:04The US has reportedly offered Hamas the opportunity to propose amendment to the deal announced
02:09by President Biden last month, though no significant breakthrough has been reported thus far.
02:15The international community, including UN Security Council and Arab powers, have also
02:20endorsed a three-stage plan that includes a six-week ceasefire, a hostage-prisoner exchange
02:25and internationally supported reconstruction effort in Gaza.
02:28US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan has also commented that many of Hamass
02:33demands are minor and not unanticipated, but others differ more substantially from the
02:38outline provided by the UNSC resolution.
02:41And so, the negotiations continue.
02:43The situation remains fluid, with both sides maintaining their core position while international
02:48mediators work to find a common ground that can lead to a cessation of hostilities and
02:53an end to the tragic misery of Palestine.
