00:00On a balmy British evening, Nigel Farage has brought politics to the pub.
00:07There's too many people. That's where it comes down to.
00:12The leader of the right-wing Reform UK party and friend of Donald Trump
00:16believes freezing non-essential immigration will help solve the UK's problems.
00:21We literally can't cope. We have a shortage of housing, healthcare.
00:25You know, we have a real problem.
00:27Your party says that Britain is broken. Why?
00:30Nothing works. Nothing works.
00:32We pay more and more tax and we get lower and lower returns.
00:37The election on July 4th will be Nigel Farage's eighth attempt to win a seat in Parliament.
00:43And he's tipped to get it.
00:45I think he's a very good man. I like the way he speaks. He's a straight shooter.
00:50Farage is running in Clacton-on-Sea, where many locals want to stop the boats.
00:56We was known as Great Britain. You can forget about the great now.
01:02Clacton has high unemployment and small businesses are struggling.
01:06People here hoped Brexit would fix things, but it didn't.
01:10If the polls are right, the Labor Party's on track to win a majority on July 4th,
01:15ending 14 years of Conservative government.
01:18But the Reform Party is hoping to be a dominant force in opposition.
01:22And that has the Conservatives worried.
01:25Reform poses a very significant threat to the Conservatives.
01:28But this is the Conservatives' fault.
01:30If they'd concentrated on decent, sensible, moderate centre-ground policies,
01:34they would have had a better chance of stopping these catastrophic losses that they're facing.
01:39It's far from a done deal for Nigel Farage, though.
01:42This week, a Reform volunteer was secretly filmed making racist comments about migrants.
01:47Even before this, there were plenty of Farage critics in Clacton.
01:51I think he's a bit of a clown.
01:54He's all talk and no action.
01:57He's got all sorts of funny ideas, very extreme ideas,
02:00and I think realistically he just doesn't represent people around here.
02:05In a country where voting isn't compulsory,
02:08Farage must not only convince them to vote for him, but to bother voting at all.
