00:00It's a rare day when the NFL loses a court battle, and they've been beaten here in this
00:11antitrust suit with the Sunday ticket.
00:14It is unbelievable.
00:15It's staggering.
00:16Now, when I heard 4.8 billion that they have to pay out, and then you were in the break
00:23telling me it could have been well over 12 billion.
00:26So, are they happy that it's 4.8 billion, or are they mad and appealing the whole thing?
00:33No, they're appealing the whole thing.
00:35Now, understanding with, and I've dealt with this stuff with other legal issues in the
00:40National Football League and other businesses.
00:42So, when you appeal, this could take months or years to follow through here.
00:47So, look, they're doing it.
00:49There's no question.
00:50They're not agreeing with it in their statement.
00:52The judgment which took place in Los Angeles last Thursday was 4.7 billion.
00:59If it gets their antitrust, you're looking at between 12 and 14 billion.
01:04So, obviously, they're not going to put up with this.
01:06They don't agree with it.
01:08Now, this is what it comes down to, just to boil it down and make it easy for people.
01:12So, I was one of the first customers for DirecTV in the 90s, right, because as an avid fantasy
01:17player, you couldn't get any games, right?
01:20So, we had this DirecTV, but you had to have a satellite dish.
01:23But the real problem was, even when you didn't have to have a satellite dish, you still had
01:26to get the service.
01:27So, if there's somebody like you, a Steelers fan, out of market, who doesn't live in Pittsburgh,
01:34you can't just do it a la carte like other sports do.
01:37You have to buy the whole package.
01:39Depending on the package, whatever they charge per year, it's either $300 to $400.
01:43This year for YouTube, it's $349.99.
01:47You as a Steelers fan may only want one game.
01:49Or let's say you're a better, or you're a fantasy player.
01:54Maybe you want two or three games.
01:55You can't do that.
01:56So, this has been the problem.
01:58And by the way, the class action suit came back in 2015.
02:03That's when it started.
02:04It took nine years to get it done.
02:06But thankfully, this has come to a resolution.
02:08Yes, the NFL is going to appeal.
02:09But I always found that disappointing, because I was all in on that package.
02:15I was like, wow, you mean I could actually get all the games?
02:17That's great for fantasy.
02:18But there's some ways I didn't want all the games.
02:20Or if you're a better, if you got two games you only care about,
02:24why do you have to pay for the whole package?
02:26That's really how this, this is what it really came down to,
02:28and why there was this class action suit.
