00:06where his presence was much awaited by the marginalized sectors in dire need of government help.
00:11Our Kenneth Paciente has the details on this latest PAFFF visit.
00:18Farming is the main livelihood of Merly's family.
00:20That's why El Nino was a huge blow to her because their harvest was affected and their income fell short.
00:30In terms of lapis, in terms of food, in terms of medicine, everything. Everything. It was really, really hard.
00:38That grief of Merly and thousands of other farmers and fishermen was heard by the government.
00:43Because even if El Nino is over, the government continues to provide help to those affected.
00:47Earlier, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. himself gave presidential assistance to farmers and fishermen.
00:53The 10,000 beneficiaries are from the province of Bohol and Cebu.
00:56Each of them received 10,000 pesos from the 50 million pesos each given to the provinces of Bohol and Cebu.
01:27The chief executive also distributed farm machinery and agricultural equipment,
01:33fertilizer, seedlings, and other fishing equipment such as fiberglass boats.
01:38Each beneficiary also received 5 kilograms of rice and other help from different government agencies
01:43such as dole and training funds from TESDA.
01:57One of the aspirations of my administration is to promote farming and fishing in your province.
02:05So that our economy will also prosper.
02:09Because of that, we will share the help that was given today to farmers and fishermen and of course to their families.
02:21The chief executive urged the LGUs to ensure all the aid handed to them really reaches the beneficiaries.
02:27The president also acknowledged again the diligence of farmers and fishermen
02:31and assured them of government's efforts to continue and develop more programs for them.
02:35I am very happy to inform you that the Mabini Kayakay Small Reservoir Irrigation Project is almost over.
02:46Nowa will benefit from this project in the near future
02:54when sufficient water will be provided for 500 hectares of rice fields in Mabini and Alicia.
03:03We will not stop and we will not stop our efforts to provide your needs.
03:15The beneficiaries in the local government are immensely thankful for this help from the government.
03:20Thank you very much, President.
03:22Because we have overcome the difficulties of farming even for a short period of time.
03:26Thank you very much.
03:28This is a very important thing, Sir.
03:30Because what we are going to use now can no longer be used.
03:37Because there is a choice.
