00:00Doctor Who, which you got to be in that in such a fun episode with Matt Smith,
00:04I wonder, you got to be a pirate of all things, which is such a fun thing to do in Doctor Who.
00:08What was that like, especially working with Matt Smith, Stephen Moffat and Karen Gillan,
00:12who obviously are reuniting now in Douglas' cast?
00:14Yeah, it was great. I remember we had a sort of read through and it was the end of one of,
00:18they were shooting a previous episode and Matt and Karen came in looking absolutely exhausted
00:22because those days on set, particularly for Matt and the energy he had to bring to the role,
00:27was absolutely, you know, punishing. And we did a sort of rehearsal read through
00:34and he absolutely, again, his leadership and his energy was exemplary. And I realised then
00:40and there that I could never play Doctor Who because I'd never had that much energy
00:44or the capacity to retain so much, you know, fantastical dialogue as he did.
00:50But Karen and Matt were wonderfully welcoming and we went and did a few,
00:53I remember a few very cold nights filming on a ship down in Cornwall, I think probably with
00:58rain machines and certainly with a bit of brandy at the end of the night to try and keep us warm.
01:03But they were great, they were great hosts for a guest artist like me.
