00:00We were invited to Milmhurst Prep in Eccleshall, Sheffield to try what they have described
00:05as the best school dinner in Sheffield.
00:08This term saw the school take on a new catering provider and head chef Andy Brooks, and as
00:13you can see he has brought quite a range to the school menu.
00:17Children can choose from a huge range of options every lunchtime.
00:21This includes hot foods and cold foods from the salad bar.
00:24The whole menu has also been approved by a nutritionalist so that children can keep energised
00:29throughout the day.
00:30Let's not forget the dessert, children can also choose from a number of sweet treats
00:34that have added vegetables to get them their 5 a day.
00:38Each year group is staggered into the food hall so that there is no fighting over tables.
00:43On the menu today was chicken fajitas, a very popular option for the kids.
00:48Sides included vegetables such as broccoli, sweet potato and much more.
00:54I had the vegetarian fajitas which was beans and roasted veg with a bit of guacamole.
01:00It really was tasty, dare I say better than I can cook.
01:04And for dessert there was apple crumble and custard.
01:07Chloe had the lemon and poppy seed cake with added courgette.
01:12Of course I had to find out what the real critics thought about the food.
01:22I spoke to 4 girls in year 5 called Hannah, Thea, Georgina and Paige and they gave it
01:27the thumbs up, especially for that wobbly jelly.
01:30I was so happy to hear that the kids are enjoying the new menu and trying new foods and having
01:34a bit of freedom about what they eat.
01:36And I can honestly say it was better than the lunches I cook myself.
