00:00Sarawak PKR has downplayed the recent spat between its strategy director, Iswardi Murni,
00:07and the party Pesaka Bumi Putra Bersatu leader, saying their disagreement was simply due to
00:11differing personal views.
00:13However, Sarawak PKR chief Roland Engen defended Iswardi's claim that the party was ready
00:18to challenge ruling coalition Gabungan Parti Sarawak at the polls if it gets the green
00:23light.
00:24Roland pointed out that PBB Vice President Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah had said before
00:29the 15th general election that any political collaboration would only be discussed or formalized
00:34after the polls.
00:35Therefore, he said, it would be a free-for-all contest at the next state elections, and Sarawakians
00:41can decide their next government.
00:43Last week, Karim said he saw ill-intentions in Sarawak PKR's insistence on fielding candidates
00:48at the next state polls.
00:50Roland dismissed this, however, saying that PKR members are only advised to help spread
00:55information on the government's initiatives and facilitate applications for government
00:59aid.
