00:00:00Messi Mania has come to MetLife, the home of the Jets and Giants, sold out more than 8 times in Copa America, rivalry between Chile and Argentina.
00:00:15Oh boy, this is going to be loud in here for this match, to see two great teams in action.
00:00:20Claudio Bravo, the 41 year old, you saw him having a nice moment with Lionel Messi, the two of them former teammates.
00:00:26You heard Ana telling you at Barcelona, all members of Chile in the 100 cap club, they all start tonight.
00:00:31Bravo, Isla, Sanchez, who will play underneath, Vargas up front, Davila plays on the right hand side.
00:00:37And then the 20 year old, Osorio, getting the start once again on the left hand side.
00:00:41He gets into the attack, scored his first goal against France.
00:00:44And then for Argentina, a couple of changes for them as well.
00:00:47Emiliano Martinez starting in the goal once again.
00:00:49Taliafico up and down that left hand side.
00:00:52Enzo Fernandez, the man from Chelsea, who played throughout Argentina's run to that World Cup title in 2022.
00:00:59He starts in the midfield alongside Rodrigo Gopal.
00:01:02And Gonzalez will be on the right.
00:01:04Goal scorer from the other night, Julian Alvarez, starts alongside Lionel Messi.
00:01:09It's been a very warm day here in the New York area, but it is cooled off considerably.
00:01:14Temperature in the low 80s right now.
00:01:16And it's not to be in any way disrespectful to the fine people of Georgia and Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
00:01:21But the atmosphere here is miles better for this game than it was for that opener Thursday night.
00:01:27The Chilean fans have added a lot, but this place has been rocking all through the warm-ups.
00:01:33And as ever, the roar when that man takes the field.
00:01:39Back in a building for the first time in eight years.
00:01:42That was the scene of one of the worst nights of his career.
00:01:45Might have ended his career here.
00:01:47That man has been a key part of everything Chile has accomplished in the modern era.
00:01:52And in the context of what's happening at this Copa America, Argentina can seal a spot in the next round.
00:01:58Chile under some pressure.
00:02:01Can they stay out in front of Canada coming off of their victory earlier today?
00:02:05We'll find out as we are underway.
00:02:09It is Chile La Roja wearing red.
00:02:12And I'll be Celeste of Argentina, the white and sky blue.
00:02:16Chile the nominal home team for this match.
00:02:18But as ever, the lead story is Argentina, who 46 years ago today won the World Cup for the very first time in Buenos Aires in 1978.
00:02:27They're hoping to be back in this building two years from now in the 26th World Cup final to add a fourth star.
00:02:33That's why it's so remarkable to think about this being one of the worst nights in Argentina's history in the 2016 Copa America final.
00:02:41It was one of the great nights for Chile all time.
00:02:43They went back-to-back Copas America.
00:02:45The following year, they were the runner-up at the Confederations Cup.
00:02:48We thought they were one of the best teams in the world.
00:02:50It's been all downhill since then for Chile.
00:02:52They missed the last two World Cups.
00:02:54They might miss a third in a row.
00:02:56It's been a disaster for them in the fall.
00:02:58That's led to a coaching change.
00:03:00They're coming off a scoreless draw with Peru in which they missed a number of great chances.
00:03:05And even though we think about Chile as Argentina's nemesis,
00:03:08they've never actually beaten them in the Copa America.
00:03:11They've not won any match against Argentina since 2008.
00:03:15What are you looking for tonight?
00:03:16Well, the big difference between that Chilean team and what you see now,
00:03:19the heart of that Chilean team was how they pressed and the intensity at which they played at.
00:03:23Mureka trying to play a little bit more of a mid-block.
00:03:26You're going to see them not pressing all the way up high trying to win the ball,
00:03:29but trying to limit the spaces in the middle of the field.
00:03:32And if Argentina and Scaloni, as he's been known for throughout his tenure,
00:03:36little tweaks and little changes throughout his normal system.
00:03:39We've seen Gonzalez who's on the ball.
00:03:41He's playing on the left-hand side.
00:03:43Lionel Messi a little bit tilted to the right,
00:03:45but the focus where they're trying to overload is that left.
00:03:48And then they're going to work it around when they have opportunities.
00:03:51Fascinating to see how this one plays out tonight.
00:03:59There it is once again.
00:04:00Messi just missed control there by Enzo Fernandez,
00:04:03one of the three line-up changes for Argentina tonight.
00:04:09Good touch in the end by Gabriel Suazo.
00:04:13To lead his way through, Vargas drops it off for Alexis Sanchez.
00:04:16Trying to return for Vargas.
00:04:18The two old warriors up front for Chile.
00:04:23And that's going to be whistled as the first foul of the night by our Uruguayan referee Andres Matonte.
00:04:34Ricardo Gareca, known for what he did with Peru.
00:04:37He's actually from Argentina, played for Argentina.
00:04:40Won league titles there as a player and as a coach.
00:04:46And has never actually beaten Argentina as a manager of Peru.
00:04:49And now for the first time with Chile, took the job in January
00:04:53after they won just one of their first six World Cup qualifiers.
00:05:00Enzo Fernandez wins it back in the middle.
00:05:02Messi trying to accelerate.
00:05:03Julian Alvarez running forward.
00:05:04Messi crowded off it from behind.
00:05:07Pulgar there in on the tackle.
00:05:09Good defending from Pulgar.
00:05:10Messi's able to get the ball turned behind that midfield line.
00:05:13And the way in which they so quickly smothered and converged on him there.
00:05:18Good defending from Chile.
00:05:32Antonio Osorio, the 20-year-old, put in the lineup tonight for Chile.
00:05:52That was a knocked off offensive call, but it is going to be off for a throw.
00:05:56Manuel Scaloni, so interesting how in November he was talking about
00:06:01needing to think about whether his future was still as Argentina's manager,
00:06:05how tired he was.
00:06:06In the winter he was just well off, close to Copa America at least.
00:06:09But he came into this month talking about being re-energized,
00:06:13saying I'm going to be here as long as they want me.
00:06:15He's focused so much on the happiness and the enjoyment of what Argentina can do,
00:06:21what the players can play like, and how the fans can enjoy
00:06:24whatever is left of their time with Leonel Messi.
00:06:30Such a different contrast to the heavyweight that they played with
00:06:34at that Copa America Centenario eight years ago tomorrow in this building.
00:06:43It must be going long.
00:06:46Gisela will let it bounce and settle.
00:06:47Great little cutback for Antonio Fico.
00:06:49Going to send the cross into the middle, and it got all through.
00:06:52Davila was in the area.
00:06:53He's down hurt.
00:06:54Vargas and Alexis were lurking as well.
00:06:57And now Davila is down in the box, and the play will be stopped here.
00:07:02This is what Chile, how they want to build.
00:07:03They want to get Isla high on that right-hand side, crosses into the box.
00:07:07I actually think it's Romero who gets just the slightest of touches on this with his head.
00:07:12The three Chilean players attacking the ball in the box aggressively,
00:07:17unable to clear it.
00:07:23To Davila, playing his first Copa America.
00:07:28He's down hurt now.
00:07:34There's that contact with Romero there.
00:07:37He's smart.
00:07:38He gets his right arm up.
00:07:40He got the early jump, so he's able to get contact there.
00:07:44Davila had every right to go for that one.
00:07:46He was trying to challenge it.
00:07:47The ball was too high, and Romero was able to clear.
00:07:50But clear, he took some contact there to the face.
00:07:53And Davila moving to the left tonight.
00:07:55That's where Diego Valdez was.
00:07:57Double title winner with Copa America this season, and Mexico career high for goals.
00:08:01Valdez came off at half time of the opener with Peru.
00:08:05He's not even listed on the team sheet tonight, out with an injury.
00:08:09So already a concern, and that was wide attacking positions for Chile.
00:08:15A pause to the exuberance of the Argentine fans here in New York.
00:08:29Romero, feeding his case there.
00:08:35Davila, who was a part of that Leon team in Mexico, won the Copa America Champions Cup title.
00:08:39He was the MVP of that championship.
00:08:42He was the MVP of that, as they beat LAFC in the final last June.
00:09:05DePaul steps in, and we're going to have to redo this for a third time.
00:09:10This drop ball to restart.
00:09:16So a good rhythm and a flow disrupted.
00:09:18I don't know if you noticed that, when the fans start jumping, we start vibrating a little bit here in this booth at MetLife Stadium.
00:09:25Davila allowed back out.
00:09:28Alvaro going long.
00:09:30Bounced through comfortably to Emiliano Martinez.
00:09:4830th meeting between these teams at Copa America.
00:09:5130th meeting between these teams at Copa America.
00:09:54And it is strange to say, because Chile won back-to-back finals,
00:09:58and pretended they scored a draw, so they won the penalty shootout in.
00:10:01So, Chile had never actually beaten Argentina outrun in a Copa America match,
00:10:06and the last win of any type was in the fall of 08.
00:10:12I think it's going to be really interesting, as this game goes on, to watch Argentina's left and Chile's right.
00:10:18Isla is on the ball right now, he likes to attack, he likes to get high.
00:10:21And I think what Scaloni is trying to do to counter that, is play more of a 4-4-2 defending.
00:10:28You see them in 4-3-3, it's flexible depending on how you're positioning your midfielders.
00:10:33But they're defending two blocks at four, keeping Gonzalez back a little bit deeper on the left,
00:10:38to stop him getting into the attack.
00:10:40But then the same thing, they're overloading that left attacking, trying to catch Chile out,
00:10:44if Isla is attacking wide.
00:10:46The message is kind of hanging out, so I think he's going to wait for the play to develop,
00:10:49and look to arrive late.
00:10:54And Alvarez pressuring there, and Bravo, by himself, off balance.
00:10:59I said, it's going to be a theme, how are these grass fields going to play?
00:11:04Well, the flag comes up, but that was off a throw-in,
00:11:07so the assistant referee has been told to put it back down, and we play on.
00:11:11Another stadium where you've laid natural grass over artificial turf.
00:11:15So Paul Alvarez, messy, picks it up, swept away, as Vargas was back defending.
00:11:39Messi picks it up swept away as Vargas was back defending
00:11:43Argentina hold it in, Caliofico knocks it wide,
00:11:46Nicole Gonzalez stabbed away at the top of the box
00:11:48and Alexis was tripped over the ball there, allowing the Calizer to take it back
00:11:51Oh it's so tight in the middle, so compact for Chile
00:11:55You can see their shape, just look how tight it is between the lines
00:11:59They do not want Messi picking the ball up centrally
00:12:02They want Argentina to go around, Argentina the way they are shaping up
00:12:05They want to get down, I'm telling you every single time down this left hand side
00:12:09Right now Enzo Fernandez has made a lot of deep runs behind the back line
00:12:13They just haven't found the timing to connect on that pass
00:12:36Pastra going long, too far for Caliofico, Islado misses it
00:12:41and that's a bad collision between those two
00:12:44Oh is that going to get it?
00:12:45It's going to come as a throw, no foul either way
00:12:52Tomas Dominguez, the president of Comdibol, he has been racking up the air miles
00:12:57so far at this tournament, getting to matches most nights
00:13:06Abuelo, Abuelo
00:13:08This is the flick, trying to get it back there from Osorio
00:13:13Osorio picks it up, that's going to be whistled here
00:13:18It's true, I thought they were going to get out on the break
00:13:20and Enzo Fernandez is a bit slow to get up
00:13:35It's true, I thought they were going to get out on the break
00:13:45Perceptive there, Maria stepped in
00:13:48Osorio, in control of bouncing ball, he's tripped up, he goes down
00:13:52No foul against Caliofico
00:13:55Gonzalez now weaving his way through, hands it off to DePaul
00:13:57as Gonzalez fouled behind the plate, DePaul's shot is blocked
00:14:01Alexis couldn't get there in time for the loose ball, Messi picks it up
00:14:05I thought he showed too much of it to Osorio, don't worry about that one
00:14:09They want a foul on the edge of the box, it's not given
00:14:13I guess Alexis couldn't hold it up for Chile
00:14:15The counter-pressing is so good from Argentina, watch when the ball turns over
00:14:18They know they've got Chile pinned back, they can't get that first ball out of pressure
00:14:22But the reaction time, Alexis McAllister especially
00:14:26The way that he just jumps the passing line, puts pressure straight away
00:14:30on the man receiving the ball, DePaul's the same way
00:14:36But the way in which they're just keeping Chile pinned back in their own half right now
00:14:40Very impressive, methodical in the way they're trying to build up
00:14:43If the ball turns over when they try to force a pass, they win it straight back
00:14:48Messi who turned 37 yesterday
00:14:52Not too willing to show that age, oh mistake by McAllister there
00:14:55Vargas stepped in, Alexis Sanchez now
00:14:58Out for Davila, has support coming around the outside
00:15:02Couldn't play the pass clearly to Suazo
00:15:06Chile get a throw out of it
00:15:21Suazo in for Alexis now, he's ducked to the turf at the edge of the box by McAllister, not a foul
00:15:27And he is twice able to intercept
00:15:31And a lay inside for Suazo
00:15:33They're letting him play tonight, aren't they?
00:15:36A couple of calls I would have thought would have been given, but
00:15:40It's interesting, he's a younger referee, about 36 years of age
00:15:43His first Copa America, has never refed either of these teams individually before
00:15:52But how does he handle the physicality of the box?
00:15:54He's been rolling with Messi, chooses not to give him a free kick on the top of the box
00:15:57Very brave
00:16:09Chile, we talked about with Canada the other night
00:16:11Those moments, if you can taunt the crowd out of it a little bit
00:16:13If you're Chile
00:16:16And again, he just turns into a giant quagmire
00:16:18Five, six bodies in there, Chile come out of there with it
00:16:22Munguar opened it up
00:16:29And there he is, one of the players in Chile who play in Argentina
00:16:35And so Sanchez comes to get it, trying to switch
00:16:37Vargas got his head to it there, but
00:16:39Misla had already made the run all the way through
00:16:49Come on, come on, come on, come on
00:16:59You can see some sand coming up when the ball is rolling
00:17:02And that's why even that misplaced pass from Depaul a couple of minutes ago
00:17:06That long ball there
00:17:08They're not running out of bounds
00:17:10So that's something to watch for
00:17:11The ball looks like it's still moving at a decent pace
00:17:13They watered it before
00:17:14But the sand is there
00:17:15So that means sometimes when it's laid, it's just going to stick
00:17:18As he gets that away, too far from Molina
00:17:21And they're forced to play it out there for a throw
00:17:26And Ana Druca was here all day
00:17:28They've been working out all day
00:17:29But it has just been battered by the hot sun all day as well
00:17:32There's no roof at MetLife Stadium
00:17:34So it was getting very, very hot and dry
00:17:38Until about an hour or so ago
00:17:40When the field became fully in shade
00:17:46They're trying to dummy it inside, but no one further in field
00:17:51Echeverria carrying forward as Ivan Atlet
00:17:54As it goes long for Alexis to chase
00:17:56As Andra Martinez running with him
00:17:58Into the control
00:18:00And that is going to be out for a throw
00:18:09Alonso Isla, his 26th Copa America appearance tonight
00:18:13He made it right back to Chile
00:18:14Only 10 players in the entire competition's history have more
00:18:20He didn't play for Chile for two whole years
00:18:22Before Copa America brought him back into the team
00:18:26In March
00:18:33Also for Vargas
00:18:34Also continues the run
00:18:36Can Davila find him?
00:18:37It's going to be too far
00:18:39It's a little bit of hesitation
00:18:40Maybe Ana Martinez is there
00:18:44Tomorrow on Fox and FS1
00:18:45Simultaneous play at the Euros
00:18:47Concludes with the finales of Groups E and F
00:18:50Group A starts with Ukraine against Belgium
00:18:52And Slovakia, Romania
00:18:53All four teams, three points each
00:18:55It's going to be a wild finish to that group
00:18:57Followed by Group F finale
00:18:59As Georgia take on Portugal
00:19:01Who have already advanced
00:19:02Turkey and Turkey each need a win to go on
00:19:05When it starts at 11 a.m. Eastern, 8 a.m. Pacific
00:19:08On Fox and FS1
00:19:11And the Republic of Georgia pull off a shock
00:19:13And advance
00:19:15Known for their cuisine more than their soccer historically
00:19:18But they have a wonderful opportunity tomorrow
00:19:21Chile's last match
00:19:2237 combined fouls with Peru
00:19:24Very physical
00:19:25And double the amount of shots that were taken in that match
00:19:27Yes
00:19:28But it leads me to a question
00:19:30What's the best way to win a match?
00:19:32What's the best way to win a match?
00:19:34What's the best way to win a match?
00:19:36What's the best way to win a match?
00:19:38What's the best way to win a match?
00:19:40What's the best way to win a match?
00:19:42What's the best way to win a match?
00:19:44What's the best way to win a match?
00:19:46What's the best way to win a match?
00:19:49It leads me to my point here
00:19:51You've already seen with Messi's on the ball
00:19:53Tackles are flying in
00:19:54Slide tackles left and right
00:19:55They're playing physical
00:19:57They feel clearly
00:19:58That's a way to disrupt the rhythm and the flow of Argentina
00:20:03To Fernandez
00:20:04That'll be a comfortable catch for Claudio Bravo
00:20:11The oldest man in the history of Copa America
00:20:14Turned 41 in April
00:20:17A hard time there as that was blocked by Suazo
00:20:20Bravo forced to just hoof it out
00:20:22He said JUST HOOF IT OUT
00:20:46That was a slugfest
00:20:48Between Chile and Peru
00:20:50scoreless draw those two rivals have played since 1989 a whole Taylor Swift
00:20:56ago and part of the story was that Chile had
00:20:59chances they couldn't convert. Let's see Sanchez had a couple of good looks
00:21:04That might be the most seamless Taylor Swift. Well if you draw attention to it.
00:21:11Well done.
00:21:13But certainly Canada's victory
00:21:16Gives Chile an opportunity they'll play Canada in the finale Saturday in Orlando
00:21:21if they can get a result out of this game. They've gone backwards since those
00:21:26back-to-back titles they got hammered by their now coach Riccardo Correca in
00:21:31Peru. In 2019 they went out to the host Brazil at the last Copa America.
00:21:39In 20 years they'd go out of the group stage if they can't advance here.
00:21:42The way we were talking about this team we talked about at the beginning about this Chilean
00:21:46team and the ascendancy that they were on and this golden generation of their
00:21:50players and what they were able to achieve relative to their historical
00:21:55success but man the story since missed two World Cups off the worst start in
00:22:00World Cup qualifying history with them in over six games.
00:22:06Look throughout the team though there's still a ton of talent but the top-end talent
00:22:10At the end of the field and that's Sanchez and Vargas and the 100 cap senior players
00:22:16you would have hoped there would have been some more players that could really push those guys
00:22:20and that those aren't the guys you're so reliant on at this stage.
00:22:24Sanchez is 35 years old now.
00:22:28I mean Isla's an interesting example they had four different starting right backs in six
00:22:32qualifiers in the fall and then what does Correca do first day on the job he
00:22:36calls Isla out of essentially retirement.
00:22:44Now Tigre has done wonders with Peru got them to the World Cup for the first time in 36 years.
00:22:50Got them to a Copa America final.
00:22:52What can he do with Chile?
00:22:54Find an open part of the field.
00:23:07Alistair steps in until Fernandez picks it up.
00:23:12Nico Gonzalez running at Isla to the byline into the middle
00:23:19Javier Alvarez couldn't really get a ton on that first save of the game for Claudio Brahma.
00:23:24Great work by them down their left-hand side and it's Fernandez gets it out early to Gonzalez.
00:23:28He finally goes 1v1 with Isla cuts it back through his legs.
00:23:33And Javier Alvarez in this moment I think he'd already made the decision I'm gonna take this first time
00:23:38but it was squared back with such pace it made it difficult for him to adjust his body
00:23:43to really get anything of substance on the goal.
00:23:48Scored for the first time in 12 games since the World Cup semi-final against Canada.
00:23:52Here's Alvarez again back for Messi.
00:23:55Leaves his way through.
00:23:56Lionel Messi trying to find the backdoor run.
00:23:59And will that come off last?
00:24:01I think he kept it in.
00:24:03Decision that feels like a goal kick.
00:24:05Yeah I think that we'll see the replay.
00:24:08I think he judging by his reaction Gonzalez of course the attacking player is going to assume
00:24:12great looking ball from Messi in behind.
00:24:14There wasn't anybody in the box so I think even if this gets through
00:24:17there wasn't going to be anybody on the end of it.
00:24:20And I thought he cut it back into Bravo.
00:24:22Went off Bravo.
00:24:24Yeah that's clearly him.
00:24:27What you would say Nicolas Tauran who was an assistant referee at the World Cup
00:24:31that's a really tough call for him to make because you've got the net
00:24:34and the post and bodies blocking your view there.
00:24:40Gonzalez who did not play in Argentina's opener.
00:24:44Cut off a career-high 16-goal season for Fiorentina.
00:24:49Thought he had done the work to win a court.
00:24:59August in a wrestling match with Lizandro Martinez.
00:25:01He loses.
00:25:02Osorio rising up to win it out of the air.
00:25:06Ugar out-jumped.
00:25:09DePaul heavy first touch got back to it but too far from Messi.
00:25:15Suazo going long.
00:25:40Maybe you saw the scenes in Times Square.
00:25:42Wonderful scenes outside the team hotels.
00:25:46The team officials brought a giant cake out for the fans
00:25:49and Messi almost like he was a member of the royal family
00:25:51waving from an upstairs window on his birthday yesterday.
00:25:55And Messi gets a little bit of a late kick there from Gabriel Suazo.
00:25:59Andres Matonta will he show a yellow card?
00:26:01Is he going to draw the line here?
00:26:04Doesn't look like he is due to talking to Argentina benchers upset.
00:26:07Look at Messi though getting a little bit of treatment on that right groin area.
00:26:13He's had a couple of little injuries throughout the year with Inter-Miami
00:26:17and has missed some matches for them.
00:26:21There was a bit of a conversation with Scaloni ahead of this tournament
00:26:24about how to potentially manage his minutes
00:26:27for a guy that you never want to take off the field in any moment.
00:26:31I mean it's the hope that if you can push him tonight and they win tonight
00:26:35you don't even need him for the program.
00:26:37Ideally, yeah.
00:26:39But again sometimes players at the level of Messi and Ronaldo
00:26:43we talk so often about the skill to be able to stay healthy
00:26:47but their bodies are so used to just playing game after game after game after game.
00:26:53And sometimes when you disrupt that rhythm and that flow
00:26:56sometimes it ends up having a detrimental effect on the body.
00:26:59But the reality is Messi is getting older, just turned 37 years old.
00:27:02He's still off to the side by the way.
00:27:04Still getting treatment.
00:27:06Still not back on the field.
00:27:08My guess would be that's one of those Tiger Bomb type of situations.
00:27:12They're trying to work him through what already might be a little bit of a niggle.
00:27:15We'll see.
00:27:19Argentina playing with 10.
00:27:21Gonzalez rides the challenge on the outside.
00:27:24Rolls in the middle for Enzo Fernandez.
00:27:26Out for De Paul as Molina on the overlap just gives him the space.
00:27:29And De Paul that looked like it from up here.
00:27:31It took a deflection.
00:27:33Might have just knuckled something good either way.
00:27:36It's given us a goal kick.
00:27:37Messi coming back out.
00:27:59Enzo for Vargas.
00:28:01He's able to hold that up and draw the foul off Alessandro Martinez.
00:28:05He's now under some pressure.
00:28:29Osorio.
00:28:32Lichnowski was alert.
00:28:37Alexis couldn't turn inside.
00:28:38Pocket pickets.
00:28:39Cristian Romero in the center back.
00:28:41Rolling it forward.
00:28:42Trying to find Messi.
00:28:43Lichnowski to block.
00:28:44De Paul's shot was blocked.
00:28:45Suazo's down in pain.
00:28:47We play on as it comes back to Enzo Fernandez.
00:28:50Fernandez through traffic.
00:28:51Bravo's second save.
00:28:53Chilean bench is all hopping up as they have a man down.
00:28:58Well, initially they tried to play the ball into Alexis Sanchez.
00:29:01And he receives it in his feet.
00:29:03But it was a great step from Romero.
00:29:05He tried to turn into him.
00:29:06Romero wins the ball.
00:29:07Breaks away towards the back line.
00:29:09Tries to play a slip pass at the end of this.
00:29:11Then it popped out.
00:29:12And he had to pull on the follow through on that shot.
00:29:16Brave block from Suazo.
00:29:18And you can see there.
00:29:19Right leg.
00:29:21Under that area.
00:29:22Exposed just above his ankle.
00:29:30Suazo's been there starting left back the last two years.
00:29:33Even though this is his first Copa America.
00:29:38They don't have a ton of depth in that position right now.
00:29:42So they're hoping he can shrug off whatever he's dealing with and continue on.
00:29:58Alright, give us your thoughts overall.
00:30:00What are Chile doing to manage this?
00:30:02But is there anything for Argentina that's making them particularly uncomfortable?
00:30:06Argentina have had the majority of the possession in the game.
00:30:11I think as expected.
00:30:12They're trying to work down different channels.
00:30:14Trying in moments to find Messi.
00:30:16That best chance there comes off of a turnover.
00:30:18So that's the challenge for Chile as well.
00:30:20I think it's always getting that first pass out of pressure.
00:30:23Maintaining the ball.
00:30:24Don't make mistakes in the middle of the field.
00:30:26That's exactly what Argentina want to capitalize on.
00:30:30But Chile have offered nothing in the final third.
00:30:32So Argentina will be pretty comfortable with the way this game is going.
00:30:35They had the one chance pretty early.
00:30:37There's Suazo.
00:30:38And that's part of what they're doing as well.
00:30:39Which is playing physical.
00:30:40I've talked about them trying to make it compact and jam the field in the middle.
00:30:44To try to force everything wide.
00:30:46They feel more comfortable with that than Messi picking it up in the pockets.
00:30:52And they're going to lay a few hits on you.
00:30:54They're going to play physical.
00:30:57But Argentina is also a team capable of doing exactly that as well.
00:31:00Wait until De Paul and Romero and Messi's bodyguards get going.
00:31:10Suazo back out there.
00:31:12Moving a little bit gingerly.
00:31:13Bravo, that's too far.
00:31:25Medina.
00:31:26Bucar stepped in.
00:31:27He was trying to knock it wide for Suazo.
00:31:29Suazo wasn't ready for it.
00:31:31Bucar gets through Messi.
00:31:33Gets through Enzo Fernandez.
00:31:34That ball bounced up back.
00:31:37Bravo, in the end, comfortable save.
00:31:39Gonzalez there thought he had him.
00:31:42Oh my goodness, did you see that?
00:31:43That ball was spinning so much.
00:31:45And it just checked right up in the grass there.
00:31:49And I don't even think Gonzalez had expected it.
00:31:51He tried to lob Bravo with the header.
00:31:58That was Bravo's third save of the game.
00:32:03And a four save shutout against Peru.
00:32:05The eighth man in Copa America history to get to double-digit career shutouts in this competition.
00:32:10As we reach the half-hour mark in front of 80,000 fans at MetLife Stadium.
00:32:15Home of the World Cup final.
00:32:17Two years and a couple of weeks from now.
00:32:22A re-match of the 2016 Copa America Centenario final in this building between these two teams.
00:32:28It really wasn't just that they lost to Chile.
00:32:33And it really wasn't even the fact that they lost for a second straight year in a penalty shootout to Chile.
00:32:38We got them in Santiago the year before.
00:32:40It was a third straight final defeat for Argentina, including the World Cup in 2014.
00:32:48Gonzalez sends that to no one.
00:32:52Messi is going to get to that one in front of Lichnowski.
00:32:55Messi is willing and Alvarez, can he get the pass away?
00:32:57No, just a hesitation there and closed down off it.
00:33:01Really important tackle there too because Messi had a wide open Julian Alvarez who continued his run
00:33:08always knowing that Messi was going to cut back on the left foot.
00:33:11The same thing goes for the Chilean defense.
00:33:13They knew he was going to cut back, anticipated it there.
00:33:16And as they've done throughout this first half, they're getting numbers around Messi when it means the most,
00:33:21which is when they're breaking away in that final third.
00:33:23And those three straight summers, those three straight final defeats in which Argentina had chances to win all three
00:33:30took their toll on Lionel Messi.
00:33:32The image in 2014 was he just looked sad, receiving his Golden Ball Award as the player of the tournament.
00:33:38He and Argentina actually boycotted the awards ceremony in Santiago in the Copa America Final in 2015.
00:33:45By 2016, within an hour of the final defeat, he announced his international retirement.
00:33:51He announced his international retirement here at the stadium.
00:33:54He reversed it a few weeks later.
00:33:56But it gives you a sense of just how sad he was, how upset he was, and the weight,
00:34:01feeling like he and his teammates had failed their nation three years in a row.
00:34:07And how different it is now, having won the World Cup, having won a Copa America.
00:34:11McAllister knocks that away.
00:34:13It was Andre Martinez trying to play forward.
00:34:15It was Isla who stepped in.
00:34:17Now he's down in pain.
00:34:20It looked like he was going to whistle for a foul and just let Chile go in possession,
00:34:23but Isla is still down.
00:34:25Yeah, and he's trying to let them play when he feels it's a bit of a marginal tackle
00:34:30or not enough contact.
00:34:34Let's see.
00:34:36Yeah, I mean, look, he's absolutely right.
00:34:39Four rolls later, still down and waiting for the whistle to go to stop playing.
00:34:44It's the game within the game we keep talking about.
00:34:46We talked about it the other night.
00:34:49In that U.S. game against Bolivia, it's happened throughout this tournament.
00:34:52This was that bounce.
00:34:53Look how weird that ball checked back.
00:34:57And then even, I think it just had so much spin on it
00:35:00that when Nico Gonzalez goes to head it as well,
00:35:03it just kind of skims off his forehead and goes into the ground.
00:35:06Comfortable save.
00:35:07Comfortable save.
00:35:18As he is still stretching out that right leg.
00:35:23You see him now.
00:35:24He was off screen.
00:35:26He was really working through whether that's the top of his quad or his adductor.
00:35:31So that'll be something to watch.
00:35:34Julio Scoloni elects to do a halftime, perhaps.
00:35:40Not that Argentina drop off, but they've actually won the last 11 games in which Messi didn't start.
00:35:45They have a remarkably good record, even without their best player of all time.
00:35:58He's left.
00:35:59Sven Alvarez sliding through to knock it away.
00:36:03And it's in.
00:36:16Just touching on something Alexi Lalas talked about in the pregame,
00:36:19about just Argentina and the show that they have become.
00:36:24Following the Beatles or the Rolling Stones,
00:36:27and just the show that comes along with it.
00:36:30You feel it outside the stadium.
00:36:32You feel it inside the stadium.
00:36:33Every game that we have been at.
00:36:35I'm talking the World Cup, but then even just here in the United States.
00:36:38And talking to people in Atlanta like we did, John,
00:36:40and saying, look, we haven't seen a fandom like this for even the biggest stars in American sports.
00:36:47There's about 80 plus thousand here.
00:36:49I'd say there's 79,000 number 10 messengers as well.
00:36:52It's incredible.
00:36:53It truly is.
00:36:55He put on the show that they've come to see.
00:36:57De Paul.
00:36:59Back out to McAllister.
00:37:04He didn't know where to go.
00:37:0860% possession for Argentina.
00:37:10They're out shooting Chile 7-0.
00:37:14They forced three saves out of Claudio Bravo.
00:37:16And they were scoring this at the half with Canada the other night
00:37:19before they finally broke through early in the second half.
00:37:23Chile just doing a good job defensively as well, of having a plus one defender.
00:37:28So they're not getting outnumbered or overloaded in the wide areas.
00:37:32But if Argentina can move the ball quicker.
00:37:33There they are.
00:37:34Messi!
00:37:35A little kiss off the outside of the post as it goes past.
00:37:40And that's it.
00:37:41The way, if you can move, as they're shifting across,
00:37:44if you can play quicker, you can play faster.
00:37:46And that's it.
00:37:47And that's it.
00:37:48The way, if you can move, as they're shifting across,
00:37:51if you can play quicker, into the gaps, one-two touch passing.
00:37:55They find the man they want on the top of the box, Bravo.
00:37:57Watch Claudio Bravo here, stranded.
00:37:59He has no chance at it.
00:38:00And just that little kiss off that right post from Messi just drags it slightly
00:38:06to the right of Bravo.
00:38:07He's going from a good 30 yards out there.
00:38:11He always seems to do that, scratching his forehead like that,
00:38:13as if he's as confused as anyone.
00:38:15Why that didn't go in.
00:38:18Bravo!
00:38:22A scorer of 108 goals for Argentina tied with Iran Zalidayi
00:38:29for the second most goals amongst any man in international soccer history.
00:38:34Cristiano Ronaldo's number one.
00:38:37Christine Sinclair is at the top of that list overall.
00:38:42Alexis almost got in there.
00:38:44Romero had to be alert.
00:38:47with some more animated body language as his half goes along.
00:39:07Alexis, he couldn't kick that one off.
00:39:11Romero stepped in, big tackle by Luchinovsky.
00:39:16Alvarez slow to get to his feet.
00:39:19Tried to lay it off.
00:39:20Isla runs back through to get it.
00:39:21The return inside.
00:39:22That first by McAllister.
00:39:25Gonzalez for Alvarez.
00:39:27For Messi.
00:39:28Weaves his way around.
00:39:30Twice gets around Echeverria.
00:39:32De Paul, options either side.
00:39:34Hands off for Molina.
00:39:36Molina's cross into the middle.
00:39:38Almost an own goal.
00:39:39Ends up behind for a corner.
00:39:41Kuligar tracking back.
00:39:43Got away with that.
00:39:44Almost the leading goal scorer from the Euro popping up there.
00:39:46Own goal with the back post.
00:39:48I don't think he knows where this one's going, Kuligar, when he goes to clear it.
00:39:51Just comes at an awkward height and a bounce, but a great move.
00:39:54And a quick acceleration from Argentina.
00:39:56Just a reminder, when the game's slow, slow, slow, slow.
00:39:59But as soon as Messi dropped off a little bit to be facing the field,
00:40:03commits three or four defenders, and then springs that counterattack.
00:40:07Argentina coming close again.
00:40:1580,000 fans come to their feet.
00:40:17About half of them get their phones out.
00:40:19As Lionel Messi will take the first corner of the game.
00:40:26Messi driven into it.
00:40:27Takes a flip.
00:40:29And a touch off a Chilean player as well.
00:40:34Good on the other side.
00:40:40For the first touch.
00:40:45Come here, come here, come here, come here.
00:40:49And the route DePaul to take is Messi.
00:40:53Just kind of lurks around and tries to get lost at the top of the deep.
00:40:59DePaul in swinger.
00:41:00Another flick by McAllister.
00:41:02And that one loops all the way out.
00:41:05But tomorrow on FS1,
00:41:09as we take a look back at the Messi,
00:41:11we'll ring off the post.
00:41:12More Copa America action as we go back to Group B.
00:41:15Ecuador and Jamaica face off.
00:41:17Venezuela and Mexico.
00:41:18Cover starts at 5 p.m. Eastern, 2 o'clock Pacific.
00:41:21Live here on FS1.
00:41:23Mexico doing all they needed to against Jamaica.
00:41:27Venezuela, wonderful.
00:41:28Come from behind, win in their own pocket.
00:41:31Venezuela, wonderful.
00:41:32Come from behind, win in their opener.
00:41:34And Group B and this group, Group A,
00:41:37are matched up in both the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds.
00:41:40So, for Venezuela and for Mexico,
00:41:44the goal for them is to top the group and avoid a quarterfinal against Argentina.
00:41:48On the assumption that Argentina wins this group.
00:41:53The win tonight would clinch their spot in the quarterfinal of the match to go.
00:41:57Back for Gonzalez.
00:41:59In for Messi.
00:42:00Trying to find the space.
00:42:01Rolls it out wide for Julian Alvarez.
00:42:03Taddeo Fico on the overlap.
00:42:04His cutback.
00:42:05Cross is cleared away.
00:42:06And Tchaikovsky was there first.
00:42:10Nico Gonzalez really growing into this game for Argentina.
00:42:13Finding some nice spots.
00:42:15He's been the first one that transitioned pass to break the lines.
00:42:20He's getting in between.
00:42:21Making nice combination.
00:42:22You see him on the left.
00:42:23Hopping up in all different kinds of spots.
00:42:25Here he is again.
00:42:26It's going to be dubbed on.
00:42:27Can't reach Taddeo Fico.
00:42:29Easily needs some help.
00:42:30That was Osorio rather.
00:42:31Tackled off it.
00:42:32McAllister.
00:42:33Ballon with Vargas.
00:42:34And he commits a foul.
00:42:36Blowing over Taddeo Fico.
00:42:39Messi will make the long walk over to take it.
00:43:01Now a complimentary foul.
00:43:04Now a Copa America record 18 career assists in this competition.
00:43:10And then the secondary assist on the other goal.
00:43:13Argentina scored Thursday night.
00:43:21Messi swings it low.
00:43:22Vargas missed it actually.
00:43:27Reset for Messi.
00:43:34Martinez trying to play it in.
00:43:36And Bravo with the shot right at the last second to pick it up.
00:43:39Now can they get Alexis Sanchez on the run?
00:43:41Off the bounce.
00:43:43Martinez there tracking back to Perez.
00:43:45Enzo Fernandez in fact all the way back to make the play.
00:44:03Let's take goose eggs from a Chilean attacking perspective.
00:44:13He was going to blow for a foul.
00:44:14But Argentina played through it.
00:44:16And then DePaul has tackled off it.
00:44:18So they might have preferred the free kick.
00:44:20Pulgar.
00:44:21Alexis.
00:44:22Tackled away.
00:44:23Right to the feet of Messi.
00:44:24Rides the challenge.
00:44:25Messi.
00:44:26Tangle of legs.
00:44:27Alvarez picks it up.
00:44:28We still play on.
00:44:29Alvarez comes out of there with it.
00:44:31Julian Alvarez giving the space.
00:44:33Hands it off to Enzo Fernandez.
00:44:35DePaul will cycle it around.
00:44:38Fernandez in for Messi.
00:44:40Missed control.
00:44:41There's a collector's item.
00:44:44Still nowhere for Chile to go.
00:44:46Vargas felt the contact from Isandro Martinez.
00:44:49You can feel.
00:44:51And that's the challenge for the referee as well.
00:44:53I know in moments he's trying to play advantage and let the play develop.
00:44:57And if there's an attacking chance, of course.
00:45:00But if you don't make those calls.
00:45:02And it just starts to snowball.
00:45:05The next tackle comes in harder.
00:45:07The next one too.
00:45:08Isandro Martinez.
00:45:09If he wasn't going to get that ball in that last tackle in the middle of the field.
00:45:12He was going to punt the man about 16 rows up as well.
00:45:16It's turning into a bit of a bar fight.
00:45:20Bar fight.
00:45:21Rock fight.
00:45:22Choose your metaphor.
00:45:23There's a beauty to it as well, to be sure.
00:45:30And the dying state is up this first half.
00:45:39Sanchez chases him down.
00:45:41And that's why I also brought up that conversation about Romero and DePaul.
00:45:48And guys like that.
00:45:49Because look, this is an Argentine team.
00:45:51While they've got the flair and they've got Messi.
00:45:54And they've got these skilled players.
00:45:56He's going to come over the top.
00:45:57Isla trying to recover.
00:45:59Gonzalez brought it down.
00:46:01Now needs some support.
00:46:03That's for Enzo Fernandez.
00:46:05Spun around on the outside by Davila.
00:46:08Davila setting up now on the right.
00:46:09Able to play for Isla.
00:46:12Trying to survive that immediate moment.
00:46:14Vargas outdueled by McAllister.
00:46:15Weaves it around.
00:46:16McAllister.
00:46:17It's a block shot.
00:46:18Lago comes to collect.
00:46:20Just to finish that point.
00:46:22This is a team that will mix it up too.
00:46:24They're just as happy.
00:46:26If you want to play the tiki-taka and let's play transition and let's play beautiful attacking soccer.
00:46:31Or if you want to mix it up and you want to play physical, we can do that too.
00:46:40You kind of have to if you're going to have success in South America.
00:46:43The grueling World Cup qualifying format.
00:46:45Or Copa America it is.
00:46:47When the Dutch tried to make it a fist fight in the World Cup, they were equal to that in the quarterfinal.
00:46:52They got their backs against the wall.
00:46:55They knew how to handle it.
00:46:59This might be a fairly large number because of the entry stoppages that we've had in the first half.
00:47:07Just three.
00:47:18There's one.
00:47:19Inside for Julian Alvarez.
00:47:21Alvarez!
00:47:22Blasts it over.
00:47:25Natalia Fico.
00:47:26The left back had made a great run off the ball here.
00:47:29To drag two defenders with him.
00:47:31Lichnowski gets caught out of position.
00:47:33And that's where that lane opened up.
00:47:35For Julian Alvarez to get that pass.
00:47:37Nice pass.
00:47:38Into his path.
00:47:39Takes a good touch across his body.
00:47:40Just that shot was always rising.
00:47:42Lean back a touch on the left foot.
00:47:47I believe Bravo won his 150th appearance for Chile.
00:47:51Made his debut July 11, 2004.
00:47:55And very likely one of the last times we're going to see him.
00:47:57He's out of contract.
00:47:58Doesn't have a club.
00:47:59Has said if it's not a great offer coming, we'll just hang him up.
00:48:03A remarkable career that he has had.
00:48:05Including two years as a teammate with Lionel Messi.
00:48:07And you saw as they walked out.
00:48:08A wonderful chat between those two.
00:48:11Messi's also put 15 goals past Bravo in 20 prior meetings.
00:48:18And a wonderful free kick at the last Copa America.
00:48:211-1 draw between these two.
00:48:23Lichnowski.
00:48:24Is there enough on that as Julian Alvarez is chasing?
00:48:27Bravo able to get rid of it?
00:48:31Romero nods it wide for Lisandro Martinez.
00:48:33Under some pressure from Alexis.
00:48:35Alvarez knows he's offside.
00:48:39We're halfway through the stoppage time.
00:48:48He slipped.
00:48:49Lost it.
00:48:50Went down.
00:48:51In for Alvarez.
00:48:52A touch by Lichnowski.
00:48:53Not enough.
00:48:55Into the middle for De Paul.
00:48:56De Paul couldn't hit the target.
00:48:5913th shot of the night for Argentina.
00:49:02He settles for the harder shot.
00:49:05And the harder option here.
00:49:06Watch as you have a run from Lionel Messi.
00:49:08The way that ball turns over.
00:49:10Argentina now in the good opportunity.
00:49:13Look, that little slip pass.
00:49:14I think there was a window there to get it going.
00:49:16Instead for the second time tonight.
00:49:18Not the cleanest of strikes from De Paul.
00:49:21In frustration.
00:49:22But look.
00:49:23It's been dominated by Argentina.
00:49:25This first half.
00:49:26With the ball.
00:49:27Most of the games have been played in Chile's half of the field.
00:49:30They've had the odd moment where they've gotten into the attack.
00:49:33They're just trying to kill the game.
00:49:35They're trying to disrupt the rhythm.
00:49:37They're hoping for a mistake in the back from Argentina.
00:49:39I don't think Scaloni will be panicked.
00:49:41Of course you're going to assess Messi's injury status.
00:49:45Injury status at halftime.
00:49:46He seems to be playing and moving along just fine.
00:49:49But that's something we'll certainly evaluate.
00:49:53It's not can you play with Argentina for 45 minutes.
00:49:55It's can you play with them for 90.
00:49:57And can you keep this attack.
00:49:59And can you suffer this way for another 45.
00:50:02We found out Canada couldn't.
00:50:04And the bigger question is.
00:50:06Are we going to have a giant game of chicken.
00:50:08Whether teams come out of the locker room on time or not.
00:50:10That's become in vogue here at this Copa America.
00:50:12Another scoreless first half for the reigning champions.
00:50:15In this rematch of the 2016 final.
00:50:18Let's send you back to Rob Stone in Los Angeles.
00:50:2045 minutes down.
00:50:2245 to go here in New York, New Jersey.
00:50:25No score between Chile and Argentina.
00:50:33Messi with plenty to say at the halftime whistle.
00:50:35The Copa America 20.
00:50:37Well in their first game.
00:50:39The Argentina team was late back on the pitch.
00:50:43In Atlanta.
00:50:45They kept the Canadians waiting.
00:50:47Last Thursday night.
00:50:50You can see there.
00:50:51Right now there's only one team, East Rutherford.
00:50:59But both teams have lots of sport.
00:51:01Here tonight.
00:51:03Young fans who.
00:51:05Will be told I'm sure when they're older.
00:51:07You saw Messi play.
00:51:11He does make you drool.
00:51:16As.
00:51:17In their first game.
00:51:18Argentina are a little tardy.
00:51:20Here re-emerging the second half.
00:51:29And here they come.
00:51:36Their 15th title.
00:51:38In Brazil.
00:51:39Three years ago.
00:51:40To.
00:51:41Level with Uruguay.
00:51:42The most successful nation.
00:51:44In Copa America history.
00:51:47Neither Pelé nor Maradona won this trophy by the way.
00:51:56It appeared for a long time he wouldn't either.
00:52:06So both teams are now back and we are ready for the second half.
00:52:11In MetLife Stadium.
00:52:36It's been a containing game played by Chile so far.
00:52:40Not really shown too much.
00:52:42Attacking ambition of their own.
00:52:44They've.
00:52:45Been content to sit back and soak up and.
00:52:47Stifle Argentina.
00:52:48Here is a swastika.
00:52:51In Alexis Sanchez.
00:52:52Not Davila.
00:52:55Davila.
00:52:56Alexis Sanchez here.
00:52:58That big switch of play for Osorio.
00:53:00Who had a very quiet first half.
00:53:02Osorio.
00:53:05And he gives away a free kick.
00:53:07Key figure in Mitula's winning of the Danish league.
00:53:10The season just gone.
00:53:11By a single point.
00:53:13In Denmark.
00:53:16Got his first goal for Chile in.
00:53:18Marches friendly with France in Marseille.
00:53:23On screen the two teams for you.
00:53:25Both unchanged from kickoff.
00:53:31Chile's big ball today in midfield.
00:53:33No Nunez.
00:53:34With Echevarria.
00:53:35In his place.
00:53:39Here is Enzo Fernandez for Argentina.
00:53:43Tagliafico.
00:53:46Nicolás González.
00:53:49On a mission.
00:53:51Still.
00:53:52Nicolás González.
00:53:54But he's gone down.
00:53:55No real appeals from.
00:53:57Him or his teammates for a penalty.
00:53:59Argentina's team tonight with no.
00:54:02Di Maria from the start.
00:54:04He's taken by the man grounded there.
00:54:07Fiorentina's Nicolás González.
00:54:10Who has lost the last two.
00:54:12At UEFA Conference League finals.
00:54:14Fiorentina.
00:54:15To West Ham and Olympiacos.
00:54:17The season just gone.
00:54:19Was with Stuttgart in Bundesliga for a while.
00:54:25Always off balance wasn't he there with Nicolás González.
00:54:29There was a hint of a nudge.
00:54:31By Isla.
00:54:36The mother was outside the box for sure.
00:54:54Paulo Dias.
00:54:58Father Italo.
00:54:59Two caps as a centre-back for Chile.
00:55:03Nicolás González.
00:55:05Enzo Fernandez.
00:55:07Now it's Romero.
00:55:11Lisandro Martínez.
00:55:14Into De Pau.
00:55:16Liverpool's Alexis McAllister.
00:55:22De Pau.
00:55:24In there to Messi.
00:55:26All given away here.
00:55:27Enzo Fernandez.
00:55:28And Chile can push away themselves here.
00:55:31All the way through there for Osorio.
00:55:35McAllister a key figure now in the Argentina team.
00:55:42Had a good first year with Liverpool as well in Premier League.
00:55:44After his stint at Brighton.
00:55:49A Bravo.
00:55:55Bravo in the last game was facing Peru's Paulo Guerrero.
00:55:58He's 40.
00:55:59Bravo's 41.
00:56:01Certainly maybe an older competition than we've seen in the Euros.
00:56:05The squads here at the Copa América in some regards.
00:56:09I know Costa Rica had the youngest squad at the competition last night.
00:56:12In the game with Brazil.
00:56:17Molina.
00:56:19And we're here at Argentina become the first team to qualify for the quarterfinals.
00:56:27Enzo Fernandez.
00:56:30Plus Gonzalez.
00:56:32Alvarez.
00:56:33On here for Lionel Messi.
00:56:35It's Messi.
00:56:37Neatly done.
00:56:38Oh good save by Bravo.
00:56:41Molina's shot.
00:56:43And Bravo at the age of 41.
00:56:46And Bravo at the age of 41.
00:56:48Shows he has lost none of his sharpness in goal for Chile.
00:56:54Molina's shot.
00:56:55Beaten clear.
00:56:56By Claudio Bravo.
00:56:59The oldest Copa América player this century.
00:57:02Excelling.
00:57:03For Moroja.
00:57:07But what personal damage.
00:57:16Bravo's okay.
00:57:19Messi on the corner.
00:57:29Messi said the corner in.
00:57:30Bravo chose to punch the ball clear.
00:57:34Deflection.
00:57:35And a shot there from Lisandro Martinez.
00:57:41A corner given.
00:57:42And Bravo once again.
00:57:43Is not.
00:57:44In the best shape.
00:57:49He came in that crowd scene got clattered.
00:57:52When he came for the cross.
00:57:59Did come off the arm there of Isla.
00:58:00But I think.
00:58:01The arms were not in an unnatural position.
00:58:05Or were they?
00:58:07Didn't they move towards the ball.
00:58:08Not making himself a bigger silhouette there.
00:58:10Is he really?
00:58:11Maurice Isla.
00:58:14No signs of a VAR check going on.
00:58:22Corner Argentina.
00:58:23De Pau comes as a short option.
00:58:26Here is De Pau.
00:58:29De Pau.
00:58:30And still.
00:58:31De Pau.
00:58:33Moving on.
00:58:35Unable to come in there with Alexis McAllister.
00:58:37Unable to come in there with Alexis McAllister.
00:58:42Came with a similar shape the first half.
00:58:44It's the Argentina team.
00:58:45Who are on the front foot.
00:58:46The ones who ask the questions.
00:58:47But.
00:58:48Chile can tend to sit back and.
00:58:50Keep their shape and.
00:58:51Soak it up.
00:58:54Maybe play for the point.
00:58:55And then hope they can.
00:58:57Beat the current bottom team.
00:58:59Already Canada.
00:59:01On the last matchday on Saturday.
00:59:03He beat.
00:59:04Peru 1-0 earlier on today.
00:59:05With that goal.
00:59:06Jonathan Day.
00:59:07He did their first ever goal.
00:59:08And first ever win in the Copa America.
00:59:12Paulo Dias.
00:59:13Back with Bravo.
00:59:17Bravo clear for Chile.
00:59:19Heading on now towards.
00:59:21Eduardo Vargas.
00:59:22Who's been very quiet so far.
00:59:23Been starved of any.
00:59:24Get a service Vargas.
00:59:26May get some here.
00:59:29Thrown by Osorio.
00:59:37Ball turned over here.
00:59:39McAllister.
00:59:41Alvarez.
00:59:43Now De Pau.
00:59:45Couldn't find Lina.
00:59:46Here's Vargas for Chile.
00:59:47For Eric Pulgar.
00:59:51The pugnacious Pulgar again.
00:59:58Lichnowski.
01:00:01Osorio.
01:00:03A little space to work in as well.
01:00:04Here for.
01:00:05Gabriel Suazo.
01:00:08Suazo.
01:00:09Alexis Sanchez.
01:00:12Davila.
01:00:14Alexis Sanchez.
01:00:15Looks to ride the tackles.
01:00:17And the free kick is Chile's.
01:00:21Victor Davila.
01:00:23I think who.
01:00:25Was involved as well as Sanchez here.
01:00:28Was Davila who.
01:00:29Was the player.
01:00:30Tripped there by Tagliafico.
01:00:32Well Chile have not.
01:00:33Threatened.
01:00:34All so far.
01:00:36In the games for.
01:00:3753 minutes.
01:00:39Amy Martinez.
01:00:40Yet to make a save.
01:00:42In the Argentina goal.
01:00:43That might change here.
01:00:45Victor Davila.
01:00:47Is one of those on this dead ball with.
01:00:50Alexis Sanchez.
01:00:51I'm sure will pull rank on him here.
01:00:52And take this set piece Chile.
01:00:56And.
01:00:57And.
01:00:59And.
01:01:01And.
01:01:03Alexis Sanchez.
01:01:04Tipped in.
01:01:05But far too near to.
01:01:06Amy Martinez.
01:01:12Take this quick release.
01:01:14Now a Nicolas Gonzalez.
01:01:15For Argentina.
01:01:17And still.
01:01:18Into traffic.
01:01:20And then there's two I think.
01:01:21Hands on.
01:01:22The covering defender.
01:01:23Osorio.
01:01:25Nine goals.
01:01:26All competitions for.
01:01:27Mitchell Land in Denmark.
01:01:28Last season for Osorio.
01:01:31As I say.
01:01:32They won the Danish league in.
01:01:34Dramatic fashion.
01:01:35By a single point.
01:01:38Guess who his lens is trained on.
01:01:43Lichnowski.
01:01:46High ball for Vargas.
01:01:49Here now for.
01:01:50Davila.
01:01:52Victor Davila.
01:01:54Nick Dunne here.
01:01:55It's into Vargas.
01:02:00Good block out route there.
01:02:01For De Pau.
01:02:02Was blocked off.
01:02:03Yellow card.
01:02:05Shot to.
01:02:06Gabriel Suasso.
01:02:09This Suasso's.
01:02:10First card of competition.
01:02:11So.
01:02:12No ban as yet.
01:02:13Coming for the.
01:02:14Loose fullback.
01:02:16Also.
01:02:17A fairly.
01:02:18Strong tackle from Suasso.
01:02:27Today winning cap number.
01:02:28Twenty seven Chile.
01:02:30As I say.
01:02:31He's made that.
01:02:32Back roll his own really.
01:02:33The last couple of years.
01:02:35For.
01:02:36La Roja.
01:02:38Callister.
01:02:40This is.
01:02:41Julia Alvarez.
01:02:48Waiting then for that.

01:02:51It's scored by.
01:02:52Now in the game.
01:02:53With Canada.
01:02:54Messi.
01:02:55With the free kick.

01:03:27Work this.
01:03:28Piece for Argentina.
01:03:29Sanchez must.
01:03:30Retreat.
01:03:32Eventually.
01:03:45Clipped in by Messi.
01:03:46There's McCallister.
01:03:51Big dance.
01:03:53And now a big breakaway for Chile potentially.
01:03:58Retrieved here by Ezo Fernandez for Argentina but
01:04:02that ball in from Messi for Calista almost bang on the knee.
01:04:11Lissandra Martinez
01:04:14chase on for Nicolas Gonzalez but alert to the Dana was Bravo.
01:04:24Suazo
01:04:32Davila
01:04:37Pass will reach here Mauricio Isla
01:04:40Turned 36 a fortnight ago.
01:04:46Vargas for Echevarria
01:04:47Suazo here with space to go into but covered by Molina does really well here for Argentina.
01:04:56Molina on to Depauw.
01:04:58Depauw for Messi.
01:05:03Patrick Pulgar
01:05:06Sanchez pulled off him.
01:05:13Romero on the turf here for Argentina.
01:05:17Again it's his team who are the ones who are knocking on door but
01:05:21Chile keeping that door relatively tightly shut.
01:05:33That bruising challenge on Romero.
01:05:39Well Messi's free kick here in McAlister.
01:05:42That close to a tele-touch on that.
01:05:47Best second half chance so far for Argentina.
01:05:56Mishnovsky back to goalkeeper Claudio Bravo again.
01:06:01Chile have won just one of their six World Cup qualifiers so far.
01:06:04Home against Peru in San Diego.
01:06:07Only two teams below them in that qualifying group.
01:06:09The ten team qualifying group.
01:06:11They play 18 games to qualify in South America.
01:06:17With the World Cup now expanded the top six qualify automatically so only four miss out.
01:06:23Well this will have a playoff so in theory some teams can qualify for the
01:06:27CONMEBOL zone for the World Cup in two years time.
01:06:32Argentina the team who lead the way. Brazil are in sixth by the way.
01:06:36Here again that McAlister chance.
01:06:39Brazil have taken one point from their last four World Cup qualifiers.
01:06:48Osorio.
01:06:50Just ran out of room there to work in for the Chileans.
01:06:55Here the hour mark which is when coaches tend to rotate their pack.
01:07:00Certainly in Chile's first game Ben Britt-Diaz came on and did a good job as a target man.
01:07:09That's Enzo Hernandez for Argentina.
01:07:12That's Enzo Hernandez for Argentina.
01:07:22Echevarria.
01:07:24Another chase on for Alexis Sanchez will get very well here.
01:07:30Only a goal kick.
01:07:42Enzo Hernandez.
01:07:45Rodrigo Dupauw.
01:07:48An hour played.
01:07:51Lees Rutherford we still await the night's first goal.
01:07:58Dupauw.
01:08:04Dupauw.
01:08:07Dupauw.
01:08:11Messi.
01:08:13Messi's arse now.
01:08:14Nicolás González.
01:08:15González!
01:08:16Off the bar!
01:08:19Here's Dupauw.
01:08:20Fernández.
01:08:23González again for Argentina.
01:08:26Well Bravo's bar I think is still working.
01:08:29That was a venomous and fearsome hit.
01:08:33Messi's pass wide.
01:08:35Nicolás González here took it on.
01:08:38And this was hit with real force.
01:08:41Maybe I think touched too off the fingertips of Bravo was that
01:08:44if so this is a super save.
01:08:47Yeah what a save that is by Bravo.
01:09:02So nil-nil.
01:09:03So nil-nil.
01:09:04Nicolás González by far the closest now for Argentina.
01:09:07So in the first half Messi off the post.
01:09:10Now González too hit the frame.
01:09:13Here's Pulgar for Chile.
01:09:16One by Álvarez.
01:09:18This though is Osorio for Chile.
01:09:21Osorio.
01:09:22It's Isla.
01:09:25Almost like Nicolás González the man who shot.
01:09:28Has come very close to the game's opener.
01:09:34Tagliafico.
01:09:36On the throw in.
01:09:38It's André Martínez for Emi Martínez.
01:09:45McAllister.
01:09:47Now Depauw.
01:09:48Depauw.
01:09:49Messi.
01:09:51Messi again for Argentina.
01:09:54Messi, Enzo Fernández.
01:09:57Nicolás González.
01:10:04Nicolás González here is held up short.
01:10:06Back now to Enzo Fernández.
01:10:10Nicolás Tagliafico.
01:10:12There'll be a corner.
01:10:17Well Chile are certainly dug in here.
01:10:20Making life very tough for Argentina.
01:10:23Certainly can't fault the shape structure of Guereca's team.
01:10:28Content to sit back in there and soak up what they can.
01:10:34It's worked so far for an hour and three minutes.
01:10:40On the corner here Depauw.
01:10:43Steps away from it.
01:10:47Depauw takes the corner for Argentina.
01:10:50Here is Messi.
01:10:53Messi.
01:10:55Here is Messi.
01:10:58Molina.
01:11:03Now they move the ball on to Luis André Martínez.
01:11:08And the centre Tagliafico is waiting for this.
01:11:10And then Nicolás González runs out of road.
01:11:14The change for Argentina.
01:11:17It'll be Giovani Lo Celso coming on.
01:11:20And the player they will take off.
01:11:22Is going to be Enzo Fernández.
01:11:26Lo Celso came on, did well in the game against Canada.
01:11:30Also picked up a yellow card in that first game on Thursday night.
01:11:33So Lo Celso on.
01:11:35Enzo Fernández off.
01:11:37First change for Argentina on 64 minutes.
01:11:44Lo Celso on today to win cap 54.
01:11:48Three goals for the Albiceleste.
01:11:52Chile will make a change too.
01:12:04They will bring on Marcos Bolado, left winger.
01:12:07Very shortly.
01:12:09Depauw.
01:12:11Depauw into Messi.
01:12:13Diaz tenacious.
01:12:15Too much so in that challenge.
01:12:17Paulo Dias.
01:12:19As I say the River Plate player is thought of as the best defender in Argentina.
01:12:23Number five for Chile.
01:12:28Bolados came on in their first game and was great.
01:12:33They'll take off Alexis Sánchez.
01:12:36Which the Chilean fans in here do not approve of.
01:12:44So the talisman departs.
01:12:46On here is Marcos Bolados to win cap number nine.
01:12:49The Colo-Colo player from Chilean League.
01:12:53Two goals in eight caps before tonight.
01:12:58Callister.
01:13:03Romero.
01:13:06Molina.
01:13:10Lisandro Martínez.
01:13:15And the pass from Alvarez a little heavy.
01:13:27Frustration so far for Argentina tonight.
01:13:31Will it take nothing away from Chile in what has been thus far a defensive masterclass.
01:13:37Davila.
01:13:39McAllister.
01:13:45Bravo strikes through the ball and clears for Chile.
01:13:52In goes Depauw.
01:13:53Bolados.
01:13:56A run through here for Argentina's possession.
01:13:58It's come to Tagliafico now.
01:14:01Nearing the game so three quarters mark.
01:14:04At MetLife Stadium.
01:14:06Nicolás González.
01:14:07For Alexis McAllister.
01:14:10Now Molina on his bike.
01:14:15McAllister.
01:14:19This is Cristian Romero.
01:14:22Lisandro Martínez.
01:14:28González.
01:14:32Lo Celso.
01:14:37Lo Celso for Molina here for Argentina.
01:14:41Again every Chilean player back his defensive station.
01:14:45All know their job since formation for Chile.
01:14:49That there was a super ball in here.
01:14:51And over the bar for Messi.
01:14:54There was a flag anyway here for an offside.
01:14:56Wouldn't have counted.
01:14:59There just for a moment it appeared Chile had perhaps switched off a fraction.
01:15:05Messi went a little too soon anyway.
01:15:07This wouldn't have been allowed.
01:15:08This wouldn't have been allowed to stand for the game's first goal.
01:15:24It's a conundrum to break down this Chilean team for Argentina.
01:15:33Suazo.
01:15:34Suazo.
01:15:37Suazo Davila towards Vargas running on behind.
01:15:40Here comes Emi Martínez.
01:15:50Tagliafico.
01:15:54Romero.
01:15:56To Rodrigo de Pau.
01:15:58Into Messi.
01:16:00Messi's pass. De Pau in business.
01:16:03De Pau still here. The cross.
01:16:05Beyond Lo Celso.
01:16:07And behind it off Isla for an Argentina corner.
01:16:16And they have denied Argentina any number of clear chances.
01:16:20This cross too deep and Isla.
01:16:23They're able to affect the clearance.
01:16:26This corner taken by Giovani Lo Celso.
01:16:29His first set piece of the night.
01:16:32In by Lo Celso.
01:16:35It falls for Messi.
01:16:37Isandra Martínez.
01:16:41Now Lo Celso.
01:16:43Lo Celso's cross deflections in there.
01:16:45Which favour Chile.
01:16:47Davila with the clearance.
01:16:51The mid-control though.
01:16:52Retains.
01:16:54Possession here for Chile.
01:16:56Echeverria breaks away.
01:16:59New wave on De Pau.
01:17:03Ingo Pulga. Now Vargas for Chile.
01:17:11Almost two finals.
01:17:13In the last decade. 15 and 16.
01:17:15Both 0-0 when the sides met.
01:17:17In the showpiece.
01:17:19Again here the two nations not producing a single goal.
01:17:24Not yet anyway.
01:17:29Eduardo Vargas.
01:17:31Way through for Chile.
01:17:33Lo Celso.
01:17:41Messi does well.
01:17:42One away from two.
01:17:44The third.
01:17:45Denies him.
01:17:50And it's a player thing for an Argentina throw-in.
01:17:52So to play 20 minutes.
01:17:55Argentina yet to make a chance count.
01:18:01Chile yet to make a chance.
01:18:09Romero.
01:18:17Isandra Martínez.
01:18:21González.
01:18:23Now Lo Celso.
01:18:27McAllister.
01:18:33The Chile door is bolted pretty firmly shut at the moment for Argentina.
01:18:39What can they do here?
01:18:40It's Tagliafico.
01:18:44Alvarez.
01:18:48Lo Celso.
01:18:53Nicolas González again.
01:18:56Well time is ticking away here for Argentina to break down Chile.
01:19:01Here is Romero now to push forward.
01:19:03It's a giveaway they're hearing now.
01:19:05Davi can break it if they play this right.
01:19:07They could be in.
01:19:09Eduardo Vargas.
01:19:11Has support as well here.
01:19:13It's on to Isla.
01:19:15And Isla-Chile.
01:19:17Deflections.
01:19:19And the shot.
01:19:20Turned away by the legs of Martínez.
01:19:27Well Chile's first chance of the game.
01:19:31And A. Martínez here from Echeverria.
01:19:35Yet to turn it away.
01:19:36Didn't see much of this until late through the bodies.
01:19:38Saved by the Aston Villa goalkeeper Martínez.
01:19:42Richens here with a ball.
01:19:43Coming through that phalanx of legs.
01:19:51So Alvarez off for Lautaro Martínez.
01:19:56And also coming on the man who's goal won the final.
01:19:59The American are.
01:20:01Angel Di Maria on for Nicolas González.
01:20:08Di Maria 36 now.
01:20:11With Benfica in Portugal.
01:20:14But still last season had a hand in 70 goals and 15 assists.
01:20:20For Benfica goal competitions.
01:20:23Pulgar.
01:20:26Now Osorio.
01:20:28Osorio still for Chile.
01:20:30But he's on down.
01:20:32On field call he no penalty.
01:20:45Whitey here.
01:20:46The flag is up though on Sneerside from the referee's assistant.
01:20:50So Lautaro Martínez is on.
01:20:54In place of Alvarez in the front line.
01:20:57Near that Osorio stumble.
01:20:59It was only a stumble I think.
01:21:02Just met Bataglia Fico.
01:21:09Chile will bring on Marcelino Nunez.
01:21:11The player left out midfield very shortly.
01:21:21Here is Eni Martínez for Argentina.
01:21:29Cristiano Romero.
01:21:35Macasta.
01:21:37Lo Celso.
01:21:45Bataglia Fico.
01:21:50Game where surely one goal wins it.
01:21:57Has been in the last maybe 10 minutes more ambition shown by the team in red.
01:22:04They've ridden the storm.
01:22:05They've ridden their luck at times.
01:22:08Stay in the game.
01:22:12Their first game goalless with Peru.
01:22:14Peru.
01:22:19It's a very different performance than that Peru game.
01:22:21Clearly.
01:22:24In a system near a ship to
01:22:27stifle and
01:22:29stymie Argentina.
01:22:37This is Gulashnowski.
01:22:40Isla.
01:22:42Davila for Osorio.
01:22:44The backheel pass here gets Isla in business.
01:22:48Isla's cross.
01:22:49In for Vargas.
01:22:51They can't clear.
01:22:52Martínez again with a super save.
01:22:58Once more Echevarría's shot.
01:23:00And Eni Martínez shows exactly why he's worth his weight in gold to Argentina.
01:23:11So often their hero.
01:23:15Can see why in 40 caps has 29 clean sheets for Argentina.
01:23:21It non shall pass mood again for the Albiceleste.
01:23:29So Eric Pulga off.
01:23:31Replaced here by Norwich City's Marcelino Núñez.
01:23:37Much criticised in the wake of Friday's draw with Peru.
01:23:42By
01:23:44Sassu.
01:23:45Here is Núñez.
01:23:46Give away.
01:23:48Lautaro Martínez.
01:23:52Mauricio Isla.
01:23:55That's a useful turn.
01:23:57And the shot from long range is straight down the throat
01:24:00of Martínez this time.
01:24:02From Núñez.
01:24:03And the shot from long range is straight down the throat
01:24:06of Martínez this time.
01:24:08From Núñez.
01:24:12Did score the winner in an East Anglian derby back in April.
01:24:14Zip switch town for Norwich.
01:24:19Thought himself of
01:24:21legend in never buy a drink status
01:24:23in Norfolk.
01:24:29This is Romero for Argentina.
01:24:33For Molina.
01:24:35Into Lautaro Martínez.
01:24:37The Bortons over here.
01:24:38Up to Davila for Chile.
01:24:42Who suddenly
01:24:43in the game's closing moments have begun to
01:24:46really find attacking ambition.
01:24:49They can sense there's a win on here for them.
01:24:54A couple of very good saves from Martínez to
01:24:56deny Chivarria twice.
01:25:04And Sandra Martínez.
01:25:08Martaglia Fico for Argentina.
01:25:10Will be a free kick.
01:25:13To play just over 12 minutes of the 90.
01:25:19This is De Pau.
01:25:22De Pau's pass was very casual.
01:25:25Will be a free kick and De Pau.
01:25:29Touch the free kick.
01:25:31Here come Argentina.
01:25:3212 to play.
01:25:33De Pau.
01:25:35And the shot blocked here for corner.
01:25:37Effort by Lautaro Martínez.
01:25:40Lisnovski there.
01:25:41In the way.
01:25:42For Chile.
01:25:57Still waiting for the first goal sight.
01:25:59On the corner here Di Maria.
01:26:02Di Maria deflection in.
01:26:04On that piece.
01:26:09Only a goal kick.
01:26:16The point here sees Argentina lead the group
01:26:18by a single point in Canada.
01:26:21Chile would have two points.
01:26:23Peru the bottom team just won.
01:26:26To the last games on Saturday.
01:26:28In group A.
01:26:30Namely in Orlando, Chile, Canada.
01:26:33And in Miami, Argentina, Peru.
01:26:36Echeverria.
01:26:37Here's Davila.
01:26:40No.
01:26:41Di Maria.
01:26:42And it could be here.
01:26:43Argentina.
01:26:44Lautaro Martínez would sit down for him.
01:26:47Here's Lodelso.
01:26:55Di Maria.
01:26:56And still take down on the edge was there
01:26:58by Núñez.
01:27:01Well Di Maria feels he was caught.
01:27:05Where was the contact first of all here?
01:27:08Núñez on him.
01:27:10It is outside the box.
01:27:18Diaz.
01:27:21Here come Chile again.
01:27:26Davila.
01:27:29Oh and ball in here.
01:27:30And a tangle of legs.
01:27:31And they appeal for a penalty.
01:27:33So here Chile.
01:27:34Núñez who has gone to ground in the box.
01:27:43Full keeper's long ball looking there for
01:27:47one of Di Maria.
01:27:48Di Maria.
01:27:56We hear that tackle.
01:27:57You can see there is outside the penalty area.
01:28:00Another one to get a potential spot.
01:28:02Hit this as well.
01:28:04Núñez in the challenge there with
01:28:07Lodelso.
01:28:11Here is Lodelso.
01:28:15Last ten minutes then.
01:28:18At MetLife Stadium.
01:28:200-0.
01:28:22In stadium when these sides make a familiar look
01:28:25to those who know their Copa America history.
01:28:30And their Messi history.
01:28:34That's a Messi fan with the
01:28:37Miami shirt on.
01:28:40Yellow card here.
01:28:41And Isla.
01:28:43Has his name taken.
01:28:49Isla's first card of this edition of Copa America.
01:28:58So does the game have
01:29:00a winner for Somdi?
01:29:03Now in the 82nd minute.
01:29:06We're going to see
01:29:07Marcos Cunha imminent.
01:29:10It'll be for Tagliafico.
01:29:188 to play.
01:29:20On the free kick.
01:29:21Ángel Di Maria for Argentina.
01:29:25In by Di Maria.
01:29:27With the header looping high.
01:29:29Widen up over the bar for Margentine this time.
01:29:32Met by Tagliafico.
01:29:42Another one totally concerned.
01:29:43Bravo.
01:29:45So the change we'll see actually.
01:29:49Both fullbacks take off.
01:29:50That was the change that made as well in the first game though.
01:29:54Molina.
01:29:55Replaced.
01:29:56By Montiel.
01:29:58And might as well yes.
01:29:59A Cunha come on.
01:30:01Tagliafico.
01:30:02So.
01:30:03It has certainly in this squad.
01:30:05A real asset they have of having.
01:30:07Two sets of fullbacks.
01:30:08Both as good as.
01:30:09The previous one.
01:30:11We'll see.
01:30:12The previous one.
01:30:14We can look to rest and give.
01:30:16Players.
01:30:17Less minutes and.
01:30:18A Bruda.
01:30:19When necessary.
01:30:20So.
01:30:21The two fullbacks switched here by.
01:30:22Argentina for the game's last eight minutes.
01:30:37Isla on the throw here then.
01:30:38Chile.
01:30:40Does the game have.
01:30:41A late winner for Sambor.
01:30:46Isla.
01:30:48This is Eduardo Vargas.
01:30:52Away by Isandra Martinez.
01:30:55Lautaro Martinez.
01:30:57And now.
01:30:58The chaser for Argentina.
01:31:00Great cover by Suaso.
01:31:04Di Maria stopped his tracks there by Gabriel Suaso's.
01:31:07Alernas.
01:31:09You can see here.
01:31:10The check.
01:31:11Was for.
01:31:12A potential penalty.
01:31:13Was never anything of the sort.
01:31:21Di Maria.
01:31:22On Argentina's corner here.
01:31:23In swing.
01:31:24Away.
01:31:25By Isla.
01:31:27Now Depauw.
01:31:31Now recycled back to.
01:31:32Emi Martinez.

01:34:28Messi takes the call and Messi's gone for goal there.
01:34:31And just flicked away there by the cautious Bravo, couldn't take a risk here the goalkeeper.
01:34:36To where we can see the so-called Olympico.

01:36:01Crust fallen, heart broken.
01:36:03Undone by Argentina.
01:36:06And Lautaro Martinez.
01:36:16There is of course as always a check.

01:36:40In the Cup of America quarter finals.
01:36:45Brazil denied a goal by VAR last night.

01:36:51Their bitter rivals.
01:37:01Well the length of the check is often revealing.

01:37:37Decision pending.
01:37:39Is a long one.
01:37:41It is an Ecuadorian VAR booth.
01:37:44Carlos Orbea and Cristian Lescano in charge of monitors tonight.
01:37:48Fingers crossed from Chile this one doesn't count.

01:40:55But there were two Chileans between.
01:40:58Ball and goal.
