00:00So I'm Martin Hamilton, Director of Leeds Civic Trust and the building behind me is
00:05the Bear Pit, a structure that's been in the ownership of the Trust since the
00:0960s. We've recently renovated the building as you can see and we're going
00:14to be having a members event on Saturday and then we're hoping to open the
00:20building and the grounds that surround it to members of the public later in the
00:25summer. So we've uncovered a trough that we think the bear used to drink from.
00:30There's also the central sort of square where we think a wooden pillar would
00:38have gone in to act as a stretching post. We've uncovered a plaque that was
00:42unveiled by the Trust some years ago. So various things have been uncovered but
00:47it's really nice to see it back in you know a decent condition. We've grassed the
00:51area as you can see the grass is starting to come through and the Bear
00:54Pit's been restored and the idea is that members of the community, schools
00:58groups and you know anyone really who's interested in this will be able to visit
01:03when we open it up for the public.
