00:00trade with the EU now than we were doing in the EU's.
00:04Having left, having left, if you look at these figures, these national audit figures and
00:09world trade figures, you can look them up. If you look at what it's allowed us to do,
00:13from everything from package holidays to sanitary products, we've been able to take VAT off
00:17those and reducing costs for the consumer. And to be frank, it means that Labour can
00:22put VAT on private school fees, so it's about choice, about choice about what we're
00:26going to do. We've managed to slash in a £2 billion worth of red tape on small businesses
00:31from having VAT. So the reality, the reality is, the reality is there have clearly been
00:39some benefits from Brexit. But what I do agree with our people and partners is that we do
00:45need to ensure that even if we're not part of the EU, that we ensure that we have good
00:50trading relations with them, which we do, that we share resources, especially when it
00:55comes to security, especially those members of the EU who are part of NATO. Because if
01:00we don't work together on these really key things, energy, defence, security and energy,
01:05we won't be able to go forward as a country.
01:08How did you vote?
01:09I voted to leave.
01:13Thank you. And honours to Mr Hall, please.
01:17Well, obviously it comes as no surprise at all that I don't agree with rejoining the
01:22EU. The numbers that have been spouted are absolutely correct. We are doing more trade
01:29with the EU than we ever did prior to Brexit. However, one of the reasons I'm sat here
01:34is because Brexit, in my view, was not delivered properly. It didn't benefit Chalmers at all.
01:41And it's one of the reasons I'm here, because I got disillusioned that we were promised
01:46all sorts of things which never, ever happened. However, ECHR, coming out.
01:53Can I please have a little respect from the audience so we can hear the candidates' responses?
01:58Thank you very much.
01:59So, I wouldn't advocate rejoining the EU, although, of course, always have good relations
02:04and fantastic trade friends with them, which we do.
