01:22I am the Chief Executive Officer of the Government of Punjab.
01:27I am the Chief Executive Officer of the Government of Punjab.
01:32It is important to take the Parliament into consideration for any operation.
01:35No committee can be superior to the Parliament.
01:38No operation can start without taking the Parliament into consideration.
01:43Your operation Estakam has basically become the Estakam Party.
01:50Now they are bringing out another show.
01:53We cannot tolerate any operation in any way.
01:56There have been many operations.
01:57Which operation has been successful so far?
01:59What are the results of that?
02:00We want peace in every way.
02:02But we are against oppression.
02:03No matter how big the committee is,
02:07No matter how big the committee is,
02:09it cannot supersede the Parliament.
02:12According to the law, the Parliament is the supreme.
02:15And it will remain so.
02:16The opposition has also demanded an in-camera briefing on Operation Azam Estakam.
02:21In the National Assembly meeting as well,
02:23the Hizb-e-Iffalati Jamaat and several political leaders have openly opposed the military operation.
02:29Whereas Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman is calling Azam-e-Estakam Operation as Adm-e-Estakam Operation.
02:35We have announced that we will start Azam-e-Estakam Operation.
02:39This is the Adm-e-Estakam Operation.
02:41It will weaken Pakistan even more.
02:43The Apex Committee has decided.
02:45What is the Apex Committee?
02:46Shahbaz Sharif is not the Prime Minister.
02:48He is just sitting on a chair.
02:49The Parliament has lost its case.
02:51The state has become merciless.
02:52The state has become merciless.
02:53The state has become merciless.
02:54In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, after sunset, the police are locked up in their stations.
02:58If there is an alliance, it should be with the determination to reach the destination.
03:02If they are together for the sake of the need,
03:04if they get time, then Zardari and Shahbaz Sharif can be formed.
03:07This is not appropriate.
03:09Whereas the Minister of Defence, Qajar Asif, is saying that
03:11those who are opposing Operation Azam-e-Estakam are the enemies of the country.
03:17In yesterday's meeting, the minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was present there.
03:22In front of him, it was decided that these actions will be taken against the country.
03:27Here, they are protesting with terrorists.
03:30They are protesting against the Pakistani army.
03:32Even today, they are not moving away from the stance of the United States.
03:35They are only supporting their politics.
03:39The stance of the JUI, Tehrik-e-Insaf, ANP, Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party,
03:43and most of the opposition parties is that
03:45before starting the operation, the state of Pakistan should clarify
03:49why there was no implementation of the National Action Plan.
03:52In the previous government, under the leadership of DG ISI General Faiz Hameed
03:55and with the approval of Imran Khan, the terrorists who were brought back
03:58and were resettled, was anyone punished for this action?
04:03ANP's stance is that the roots of the terrorists are in Punjab.
04:06There are strict restrictions on the decision of Operation Azam-e-Estakam.
04:09The operation is not acceptable in any way.
04:11Viewers, on one hand, the government has announced Operation Azam-e-Estakam
04:14without taking Parliament into consideration on the most important national issue.
04:18On the other hand, in the whole of Punjab, for 7 days,
04:21Operation 144 was carried out in such a time
04:24that when Tehrik-e-Insaf has announced a national protest for Imran Khan's release.
04:28After this action, on the government's side,
04:30in Khanewal, Tehrik-e-Insaf's residences were raided by illegal police.
04:35The party claimed that from PP-209 Khanewal,
04:38the police raided the residence of PTI, Hamaiyon Khan's office
04:42and demolished it.
04:43On the Punjab Police's side, the crackdown on PTI, Khan-e-Assembly's residence and office is ongoing.
04:49The police raided the residences of Secretary General Tehrik-e-Insaf, Lahore, Hafiz-e-Ishaan, Rashid.
04:54The police raided the houses of Mian, Haroon, Sheikh Imtiaz, Ticket Holder Usman Hamza,
04:58Hama Diwan, Mian Aslam Iqbal's brother, Afzal Iqbal.
05:02Tehrik-e-Insaf claims that the police raided the houses of workers and ticket holders all night.
05:07The government is terrified of the call for peaceful protest.
05:10The call for protest will not be taken back in favour of the elections and Imran Khan's release.
05:15The case of raids on the offices of Tehrik-e-Insaf and Defiance-e-Chawalis was also raised in Iwane-e-Ziri
05:20and was severely condemned.
05:22The second important case facing the government,
05:24the Islamabad High Court has overturned the election commission's order to change the tribunal in Islamabad.
05:30The Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court, Aamir Farooq,
05:33has submitted a request for the change of the election tribunal.
05:36Anjum Aqeel, Additional Attorney General of Muslim League Noon,
05:40was presented in the court.
05:42The court asked Anjum Aqeel,
05:44whatever you have written in the statement submitted by the Halfi Election Commission, is it true?
05:48Anjum Aqeel Khan could not explain the use of the word in the request.
05:52Chief Justice Aamir Farooq said,
05:54you have to explain, what is this nepotism?
05:58Explain to me the meaning of this.
06:00Anjum Aqeel said that these are legal words.
06:02The court said, no, these are not legal words.
06:06Did you sign without reading the Halfi statement?
06:09Anjum Aqeel replied,
06:11yes, I signed without reading the Halfi statement.
06:13I apologize to the court.
06:16Chief Justice Aamir Farooq said,
06:18you have submitted a request.
06:20The judge was aware of it.
06:21So tell me, how was he aware of it?
06:23Was he not accepting your request?
06:25Was it because you wanted to change him?
06:28Anjum Aqeel replied,
06:31I apologize.
06:32I had submitted a request to transfer the case.
06:35During the hearing, the High Court of Islamabad
06:37also asked the Additional Attorney General,
06:39how will you defend this ordinance?
06:41What was the problem?
06:43The Chief Justice issued the ordinance overnight.
06:46The Parliament is terminated.
06:48And the government is run through the ordinance.
06:50The court said,
06:51you have set up a factory for the ordinance.
06:53There is a Waqf factory.
06:54And there is another ordinance factory.
06:56The court issued a show cause notice to Anjum Aqeel Khan.
06:59The court issued a show cause notice to Anjum Aqeel Khan.
07:02The court issued a show cause notice to Anjum Aqeel Khan.
07:04And the case is terminated until July 9th.
07:07The government is facing the third most important case
07:10in the history of the Muslim League.
07:13The former translator of the Muslim League,
07:15Mohammad Zubair,
07:16is covering this case.
07:18I don't know how the meeting took place.
07:22But I know,
07:23I can be very, very 100% sure about it.
07:26The vote of no confidence was filed on March 8th.
07:30And two months before that,
07:32General Bajwa met with Nawaz Sharif in January.
07:36I am not sure about that.
07:38But we heard that he met with Nawaz Sharif once or twice.
07:44Did you know that Bajwa met with Nawaz Sharif in London?
07:48Officially, no.
07:49But it was clear that he met with him.
07:53And then I found out later
07:55that I was also involved in the firing squad.
08:01The meeting is a lesson learned from the past.
08:05It is a lesson that Mr. Mian himself
08:07forgets at the right time.
08:09Many such meetings happened.
08:11In 1988, Bibi and then in 1990,
08:13Mr. Mian himself overthrew the government.
08:15Then this continued.
08:16But then after one meeting,
08:18Mr. Mian went to London.
08:19When he came back,
08:20he signed a petition to the Republic of Indonesia
08:22and repented of his past sins.
08:23But since Mr. Mian used his memory unnecessarily,
08:27he went to court wearing a black coat against one group.
08:30And a meeting was held against the other group in London.
08:33Although, today the Speaker of the Punjab Assembly
08:35has denied this meeting.
08:38I was not expecting this from Mr. Mian.
08:40He has lied about Mr. Nawaz Sharif and Mr. Bajwa.
08:44He has just lied through his teeth.
08:46Mr. Bajwa has said that these meetings
08:48took place in London.
08:49I completely deny this.
08:51His allegation is that he first
08:53carried out a conspiracy
08:55and then Imran Khan's government was overthrown.
08:57This is completely absurd.
08:59How can this meeting be so discreet
09:01that only Mohammad Zubair knows about it?
09:03I believe that Mohammad Zubair
09:05has spoken without any basis.
09:07And there can be legal consequences for this.
09:10There is information that
09:11Mr. Nawaz Sharif met with party leaders
09:13in which Rana Sanaullah Khawaja,
09:15Saad Rafiq and others have participated.
09:17Mr. Nawaz Sharif has decided to be politically active.
09:20Soon, he will meet with party leaders.
09:23Maybe Mr. Mian can become a part of IWAN
09:25and make himself more politically active and impactful.
09:29Mr. Mian is an old player of politics.
09:31But he has forgotten most of the principles of politics.
09:34We will talk about this after a short break.
09:36PMLN's senior leader, Khurram Dastgir
09:38will be with us.
09:44Khurram, thank you very much for being with us.
09:47Sir, the matter of reserve seats
09:49is under discussion in the Supreme Court.
09:51Justice Tariq Jahangiri's tribunals
09:53have also been opened by the Islamabad High Court.
09:56Despite many attempts,
09:58we can see that this work is being done.
10:00Your colleagues have tried a lot
10:02to stop the matter or to transfer it.
10:04Ordinances have also been applied.
10:06The process of scrutiny of forms
10:08which has now started,
10:10has not stopped.
10:14This will be a big problem
10:16only if the court also takes
10:18political action like all of you.
10:21It is sad to say that
10:23such a thing has happened.
10:25It is clear that Pakistan
10:27will not be able to hold elections
10:29and will not be able to hold tribunals.
10:32Election Commission of Pakistan
10:34is responsible for this.
10:36I am sorry,
10:38I am sorry,
10:40there was a problem in your audio.
10:42Sir, you are saying that
10:44if the courts also look at it
10:46from a political perspective.
10:48But sir, now the debate of
10:50Form 45 and 47 has started.
10:52When they will keep the forms
10:54and will not keep anything,
10:56like your Mustafa Nawaz Thokar
10:58and PTI are keeping the forms
11:00in accordance,
11:02you are not keeping it.
11:04Even in the statement of Halfi,
11:06they had to face a lot in the court.
11:08They were asked to prove
11:10that how they are involved.
11:12There was no answer to that.
11:14They went there to do
11:16an unconditional apology tender.
11:18But sir, if this is a domino effect,
11:20then the matter can go towards destruction
11:22for PMLN if the investigation
11:24of Form 47 has started.
11:26Is there any concern in the Jamaat
11:28in this regard?
11:30No, there is no concern in the Jamaat.
11:32There are legal processes,
11:34but the majority in the National Assembly
11:36including Muslim League No.
11:38and the previous party,
11:40MQMT and some other people
11:42have no effect on these special seats.
11:44They are present in their place.
11:46Because the extra seats
11:48were not allotted to us
11:50after the formation of the PM.
11:52So whatever the court decides,
11:54it has no effect on the stability
11:56of the government.
11:58The most important thing
12:00that we have discussed from the beginning
12:02is that whether it is a matter
12:04of terrorism or extremism
12:06or other political
12:08and economic issues,
12:10Mr. Shahbaz Sharif and his cabinet
12:12face a very important challenge
12:14of political management.
12:16That they should engage
12:18their teams continuously
12:20to talk to other Jamaats,
12:22whether they are Hawari or in the opposition.
12:24Because such issues will arise again and again
12:26where a consensus will be needed.
12:28This is an ongoing exercise.
12:30This is not an additional activity.
12:32This will be an ongoing exercise
12:34in this government.
12:36That the allies and the opposition
12:38should talk to each other
12:40and discuss the issues of the public,
12:42the issues of Pakistan.
12:44A consensus should be established
12:46so that we can stay on it.
12:48But Mr. Khurram, this government
12:50seems to be failing in political management.
12:52You are also launching an operation
12:54called Azam-e-Istikam.
12:56You are saying that you have no
12:58threat to the Jamaat and the government.
13:00But in the name of Istikam,
13:02I feel that there is danger
13:04on every front.
13:06When there was an operation in Musharraf's government,
13:08there was no need to create a consensus
13:10for those operations.
13:12Musharraf made the decisions of the operation
13:14and it was okay.
13:16But after 2008,
13:18all the operations were
13:20done by political and military leadership
13:22and by mutual consensus of the public.
13:24So should we assume that
13:26you have gone to such a situation
13:28where you do not consider the
13:30political consensus of the Jamaat necessary?
13:32No, there will be a need for consensus.
13:34The Prime Minister always
13:36has the option,
13:38which was used by
13:40Mohammad Nawaz Sharif
13:42after the Peshawar APS incident,
13:44to call all parliamentary heads
13:46for a separate briefing
13:48and clarify the seriousness
13:50of the situation.
13:52Today's Pakistan,
13:54which is a very diverse and
13:56divided country,
13:58may not have been able to create
14:00consensus.
14:02But it is the duty of the Prime Minister
14:04to make a serious effort.
14:06And if there is still criticism,
14:08then he should do the same
14:10for the benefit of the people of Pakistan,
14:12which is the security of all of us
14:14and the security of the people.
14:16And not just in one province,
14:18but in all four provinces.
14:20Yes, sir.
14:22But is Azam-e-Pakistan a
14:24proper ground operation?
14:26Or is it a strategy
14:28under which terrorists
14:30and their facilitators
14:32will be pursued?
14:36Yes, it is a comprehensive
14:38strategy,
14:40in which we say that
14:42we cannot remove kinetic operations.
14:44But kinetic operations are not
14:46the first choice.
14:48There are small operations,
14:50but there are also large
14:52kinetic operations.
14:54And if needed,
14:56we may not be able to do
14:58large-scale kinetic operations
15:00as Azam-e-Pakistan did.
15:02So this is a comprehensive
15:04scheme to enable the government,
15:06through which we have
15:08freed Africa,
15:10which we thought we had
15:12freed a few years ago,
15:14in 2015-16,
15:16and we have liberated it.
15:18It was a huge mistake
15:20of the military and political
15:22leadership at that time
15:24to bring back Taliban fighters
15:26from Pakistan,
15:28to appease them.
15:30And if there is any lesson
15:32for all of us,
15:34regardless of which
15:36Jamaat we belong to or
15:38which province we are from,
15:40that cowardly co-operation
15:42with terrorists is harmful
15:44for Pakistan and
15:46for all of us.
16:17Pakistan's peace is
16:19very important for
16:21Pakistan's economic
16:23and political development.
16:25And this is a question
16:27for all of us,
16:29for your viewers as well,
16:31that who kills the Chinese
16:33workers who work in Pakistan?
16:35And of course,
16:37it is the enemies of Pakistan
16:39who kill them,
16:41whether it is other countries
16:43that are using the land
16:45of Pakistan,
16:47the terrorists and
16:49extremists in Pakistan
16:51become the enemies
16:53of Pakistan.
16:55But anyway,
16:57this matter is very serious
16:59because now we are not
17:01just a project-based CPEC,
17:03now we have a permanent
17:05footprint in which
17:07Chinese companies
17:09will come to Pakistan
17:11to invest.
17:13So this is a permanent
17:15need that the protection
17:17of Pakistan's future
17:19investment and
17:21the security of Pakistan
17:23should be maintained.
17:25So this is a
17:27strategic operation
17:29under which we have to
17:31do all these things.
17:33But if anyone has any
17:35misunderstanding,
17:37then the incident of Madian
17:39and the incident of Gujarat
17:41is something that we have
17:43to do as a nation
17:45and understand that
17:47even if it is used
17:49in the wrong name of religion,
17:51but the extremism
17:53by non-state
17:55organizations is not
17:57acceptable. And as
17:59Max Weber said many years ago,
18:01the state's monopoly
18:03on violence has to be
18:05established, and
18:07other militias and
18:09groups will not
18:11operate and take the lives
18:13of the citizens of Pakistan.
18:15So this determination,
18:17this thought, has nothing
18:19to do with politics.
18:21This is the thought of
18:23protecting Pakistan's future.
18:25But Khurram, you talk about
18:27investments and economic
18:29improvement, but
18:31there is no political
18:33momentum for that.
18:35And we are not showing
18:37the state's violence,
18:39but there are questions
18:41raised about the state
18:43and your opponents.
18:45What is Nawaz Sharif's
18:47role in all this?
18:49Because he has decided to
18:51take a political stand.
18:53And soon he is going to
18:55meet the party workers and
18:57residents. But the government
18:59has completed 100 days.
19:01In these 100 days,
19:03he went to the assembly
19:05only 11 times.
19:07So does he feel
19:09himself more impactful
19:11outside the assembly?
19:13The assembly, we struggled
19:15so much to get him there.
19:17The first thing is that
19:19when the finance bill
19:21will be passed,
19:23and it will be the final
19:25passage of the budget,
19:27he will be present in
19:29the assembly and
19:31he will be the
19:33part of the budget.
19:35And his expectation
19:37is that
19:39Mr. Shahbaz Sharif
19:41and his cabinet
19:43will take care of all these
19:45issues. Because they are very
19:47serious about security,
19:49economy, and political
19:51management. They will
19:53manage it in a better way.
19:55But the Muslim League
19:57will secure it.
19:59And they will focus on
20:01Mr. Shahbaz Sharif
20:03and his cabinet.
20:05So what do you think?
20:07Will they remain active
20:09outside the assembly
20:11and there is no interest
20:13coming and participating
20:15in the assembly?
20:17No, as and when
20:19the need arises,
20:21they will come and
20:23talk to Mr. Shahbaz Sharif.
20:25They will understand that
20:27where Mr. Shahbaz Sharif
20:29is concerned,
20:31they will come and
20:33talk to Mr. Shahbaz Sharif.
20:35They will come and
20:37talk to Mr. Shahbaz Sharif.
20:39They will come and
20:41talk to Mr. Shahbaz Sharif.
20:43They will come and
20:45talk to Mr. Shahbaz Sharif.
20:47They will come and
20:49talk to Mr. Shahbaz Sharif.
20:51They will come and
20:53talk to Mr. Shahbaz Sharif.

38:43As far as
38:45not filing an appeal is concerned,
38:47it is a fact that
38:49the appeal was not filed.
38:51I think this is the reason
38:53why the appeal was not filed.
38:55I do not know why it was not filed.
38:57The reason is that
38:59by that time,
39:01everyone had joined
39:03the Sunni union.
39:05So, there was no point in
39:07continuing that appeal.
39:09Because it could not be reversed.
39:11the party, so maybe that is why that appeal was not filed further, but I do not know what
39:20is the actual reason for that.
39:22Barista, recently you saw that the judges have openly criticized the Supreme Court's
39:27decision on 13th January along with the Election Commission's decision, which we were calling
39:32the original sin, in which Mr. Tariq Khan was refused to give the election badge, but
39:36the Chief Justice has spent most of the hearing, which we have seen in the past few weeks,
39:42on justifying this, on which his colleagues have criticized, it is clear on record that
39:47due to the Supreme Court's decision, Mr. Tariq Khan lost his election badge, and due
39:51to this, the Election Commission made a number of mistakes, a cascade of errors so to say,
39:56but today again during the hearing, the Chief Justice of Pakistan gave remarks that who
40:00was supposed to conduct the elections, Mr. Tariq Khan tried to stop the elections, and
40:04then Imran Khan as the Prime Minister was also having an effect on the Election Commission,
40:08the Chief Justice said.
40:09See, if you look at the history, then the first thing is that the criticism that is
40:16being done on that judgment from the fellow judges, that in my opinion is correct, and
40:21I have also written articles on it and have also discussed that what is the reason that
40:26this judgment was wrong, but anyway, that happened in its place, what was to happen,
40:31and after that, whatever we are seeing, due to that judgment, all the issues have arisen.
40:36Do you think the Chief Justice realizes that?
40:38Yes, now he is defending his judgment, obviously, since he is an author judge, he has to defend it,
40:47but whenever judgments come, it is seen that the judge defends his judgment, and it is his right.
40:58Do you think this is a golden opportunity to correct the historic wrongs?
41:04See, if a very good suggestion had come today, if the review that we have put up of the symbol,
41:10if it is put up with this case, because we have filed a review against this judgment,
41:17if it is put up with this case and heard, then maybe the mistake that you are saying
41:25can be corrected, the full bench can be corrected, that is a chance, a date,
41:34that can be corrected and the mistakes can be rectified, but I do not see that it will be fixed.
41:42Although, the observation that a judge had made today, that why should we not listen to the review?
41:48Even now, the way this operation has been announced and all the matters are going on,
41:54is this not a sign that maybe the time is going to change?
41:59They need this government on board.
42:02In any military operation, whether it is against an enemy, whether it is against internal terrorism,
42:08whether it is any military operation for law and order, it is important that the public is with you
42:14and according to our constitution, the public sends their representatives to the parliament.
42:19So, actually, the representatives of the public, which you can call the public, are the parliaments.
42:24So, thirdly, it is very important that whoever wants to do the operation,
42:28the parliament should get confidence.
42:30And I am not saying that you should tell all the details, what to do and what not to do,
42:35but in camera, you can show an overall picture that we have to do this.
42:40So that even if someone fears that this is not a political operation,
42:47or an operation for political victimization,
42:50this fear should end and all the nations should stand behind this operation.
42:56Thank you very much.
