A proposed strengthening of the food and grocery code of conduct will could open supermarkets to fines worth millions of dollars, if they are found to have made unreasonable demands of suppliers.

00:30We do need to change the Competition Act to implement these changes to the Food and Grocery Code.
00:36We'll do that when we can. Obviously we will need the support of the Parliament in order to do that.
00:41But as soon as we can, we want to bed down these changes so that we can ensure that the supermarkets are doing the right thing
