00:00A lot of people were happy when PhilHealth announced their new package rate for those on dialysis.

00:12In addition to Shina's salary and her family's,

00:19Because not everyone, PhilHealth is able to afford her expenses for this.

00:25Especially now, aside from the dialysis treatment that PhilHealth is able to provide,

00:30other patients are also being paid.

00:34For example, co-pay, sometimes up to P300.

00:39Anya, the expenses are getting bigger when the dialysis patients are hospitalized.

00:46The expenses for massages and other medicines are also increasing.

00:50Confinement will also be part of PhilHealth's coverage.

00:56It will make patients' lives easier.

00:59Especially now that blood transfusions are happening more frequently

01:06This is good news for those like Shina

01:09because PhilHealth has increased the package rate of hemodialysis from P2,600

01:17to P4,000,

01:20where it covers up to 156 sessions.

01:25According to the National Kidney and Transplant Institute,

01:29every hour, one Filipino has a renal failure.

01:34This means that out of a million Filipinos,

01:38120 have kidney disease.

01:43Based on their reports,

01:45more than 5,000 Filipinos are currently under dialysis.
