00:00At a young age, it is a great honor for young athletes to compete in the Spartan Kids World Championships in China.
00:09Their love and passion for sports can also be used in their studies and preparation for the future.
00:16Let's meet Mark Salazar.
00:25This is how the next champions are trained.
00:31In a fun way, but very young.
00:34Because this is an exercise to measure their talent and strength in the field of obstacle course racing.
00:41Some of these kids are our students in the Spartan Kids World Championships
00:46that will be held in Chongli, China from August 10 to 18.
00:51Nicolette Celis, 7 years old, is the youngest in the delegation.
00:56Small but terrible because she already has 12 medals from the Spartan Kids Philippines.
01:02I just want to be stronger, healthier, and make friends.
01:06I run a lot, I work out a lot, and I move a lot.
01:11I think I ran since I was 2.
01:15Our next competitor is from Baguio, Logan Limbo, 10 years old.
01:20I like this more than the gadget because it's more fun.
01:23Because you're with friends and also it's like you're playing in a playground.
01:32Sometimes I need to problem solve, like in the rings.
01:37I need to figure out what technique I'm going to use in the rings.
01:44I think of it before the race.
01:53These kids' parents are also athletic.
01:56If your mother is Marites Nocquiao, a Sea Games gold medalist,
02:01and 6th place in the Spartan World Championships,
02:04then your motto in life is to race like mom.
02:08If my mom can do it, I can do it too.
02:10She has that level, she has that motivation.
02:14Sport is also a big help in the education of her children.
02:18Light was trained that if there's a problem or an obstacle,
02:22she can solve it or overcome it.
02:25Aside from studying, sports will also teach her how to live a good life.
02:30What you do is in line, like how you sleep, your lifestyle changes.
02:35Yes, she's correcting your lifestyle.
02:39You're also on a diet.
02:41For GMA Integrated News, Mark Salazar.
02:45Tune in for 24 hours.
