00:00There is a serious dearth in the nation's existing number of health care professionals
00:04and per the president's directive the private sector advisory council and ched have stepped
00:08up with programs to help board non-passers and underboards find jobs and review classes.
00:14Our Alan Francisco has more.
00:19One of the priorities of President Ferdinand R. Marquez Jr.'s administration is strengthening the
00:24country's health care system. Hence, the government is focusing on the need for additional nurses in
00:29the country by hiring more Filipino health care professionals. This was discussed in a meeting
00:34between President Marquez and the private sector advisory council health care sector group and
00:39other government agencies. According to PISA, the ongoing clinical care associates program
00:45helps nursing graduates who did not pass the exam find employment. The commission on higher
00:49education has also developed a program that encourages the public and private sectors
00:54to find nursing underboards and enroll them in a review program so they can take the test.
00:59For a nurse like Rances, the government's review program is a great help for those who
01:03want to pursue nursing.
01:29Meanwhile, records show an increase in nursing board passers since 2022 compared to pre-COVID
01:38years due to recalibrated curriculum. There is also the Balik Nurse Program and the Test That
01:43Ched Credit Transfer Program. The Department of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Migrant
01:48Workers are also in talks with other countries for bilateral agreements wherein Filipino nursing
01:53students can be hired eventually. Local governments are also in the Adapt-a-Hospital
01:59Program. Alan Francisco from the National TV Network for a new and better Philippines.
