June 24 declared special non-working day in Manila; PBBM inks several laws

00:00One of the president's wide-ranging powers is to punctuate Congress's main work of creating
00:05legislation by approving them into law.
00:08And today it was on full display as he inked a number of propositions into the latest laws
00:13of the land as we hear more on each one of them from our Alan Francisco.
00:19June 24 has been declared a special non-working day in the city of Manila.
00:24As per Proclamation No. 599, the day marks and celebrates the 453rd anniversary of the
00:31city's founding.
00:32President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. signed into law Republic Act Numbers 12007 and 12008,
00:40which establish senior high and elementary schools in Bacoro City, Cavite.
00:44These are the Progressive Senior High School in Barangay Bayanan and the Progressive Elementary
00:49School in Barangay Molina II.
00:51Marcos also signed a law creating district engineering offices of the Department of Public
00:57Works and Highways in Bukidnon, Negros Occidental, Bataan, Bulacan, and Iloilo.
01:03These DPWH district engineering offices will receive funds from the annual budget of the
01:08national government.
