00:00Hi, my name is Sam Quine, East Lancashire reporter for the Lancashire Post and I'm
00:06here in Osselt Whistle as the search for 19-year-old Jay Slater continues. What we know so far
00:13is that the teenager, who has gone missing during a holiday in Tenerife, was last heard
00:18from on Monday morning. This was after he told a friend that he planned to walk back
00:23to his accommodation after missing the bus. This journey would have lasted him 11 hours.
00:30He had gone to an island to attend the NRG music festival with his friend Lucy and she
00:36has explained that Jay had gone out to stay out with people he had met during a night
00:41out in Tenerife. Lucy said she received a call from Mr Slater at around 8.15am on Monday
00:49after he had missed the bus and was trying to walk back. During the call, Jay said he
00:54was lost, needed a drink of water and that his phone was only on 1%. This was then when
01:01the line cut out and Jay was last heard. Jay's last location is showing us the Rural de Teno
01:09Park, which is a mountainous area popular with hikers. Lucy is now leading a search
01:15effort with Jay's mother Debbie and his brother Zach flying out to join her in Tenerife. An
01:22official Facebook group has also been set up to help find Jay which currently has around
01:27127,000 members.
