00:00And then we had a lack of concentration at 16 inexcusable three putt great up and down
00:08at 17 and then 18 crummy lie.
00:13Not a good lie at all.
00:14I mean, I felt like there was a chance that he could have done something with it, but
00:19it was a 50 51 whether he can get it onto the green or not.
00:22And he just, you know, it was weird how it came out to, uh, I thought it was going to
00:26like stumble into that bunker and have a similar shot that Bryson had gets up near
00:31the green.
00:32And it was an easy pitch shot, easy, easy pitch shot.
00:34And that's his only other mistake.
00:38I felt like all day was the pitch shot.
00:41I felt like he should have been playing for par and it was, it was really, really simple
00:46to keep it short of that hole.
00:48That was your only goal is keep it short of the hole there as Bryson did.
00:52Right?
00:53Well, I, I don't think Bryson was trying to keep, I think Bryson's just like,
00:57let me just get it onto the green.
00:59So I think that was a huge mistake.
01:03And even like for me reading it from behind the green, I saw a putt that like was inside
01:09left and now if he would have hit it inside left, he could have made it, but he probably
01:13would have had 20 feet coming back based on the read of seeing it.
01:18So for those of you that are watching on TV, he's like, that read was terrible.
01:22I probably would have missed it low as well.
01:24Um, that was definitely a learning experience and not even probably just laying out next
01:29time and just cause I, we kind of had some dead air.
01:32I was like, wow, the putt's just going a little to the right.
01:34I would play it left center and I probably shouldn't have given an exact spot cause it
01:37doesn't matter.
01:38I should have just said going right.
01:39But anyways, that's neither here nor there, but, um, a tricky, a tricky putt.
01:46And I'll reference to that cause I asked Justin after the round, I was like, Hey, what did
01:50the putt do?
01:51He's like, well, he aimed it left and push it.
01:54It's debatable where you needed to start it to make it.
01:57But I guess he had told me that max hit the same putt in the practice round.
02:01It said it was a really goofy putt that it was a, it was a type of putter that if you
02:05started it well outside the hole, that it just hung there.
02:09And so I thought that was really interesting that it was a difficult read and we talked
02:14about this all week.
02:15If the guys that were making putts had uphill, had uphill looks, not many guys were making
02:21downhill sliders left to right or right to left.
02:24So, uh, blame the chip shot.
02:28And uh, yeah, yeah.
02:29Let's, let's get into the comments.
02:30I just wanted to kind of get into just, well, yeah, I mean, I think just a couple of different
02:35reflections on some stuff you said there is that 15 was so, I know we just talked about
02:39a bad pitch shot that Rory hit, but he had pitched it so well all week long, the sum
02:43we talked about numerous days.
02:44And so that's why 15 was, was confusing to me.
02:48It was just that we had, um, you know, situation where if you, if you leave it short, I, that
02:55pin was kind of front ish, right?
02:57Like you, you can have an easy little pitch up there and can get up and down like you've
03:00been doing all week long.
03:01We saw him.
03:02Yeah.
03:0315 for Rory.
03:04You know, it's not easy up and now, but it's, it's nothing was, but yeah, but better than
03:08being off the back.
03:09Right.
03:10He would have had something inside of 10 feet for par, um, and not playing for bogey.
03:14And I just felt like he makes par there.
03:19I think he cruises.
03:20I think so too.
03:21And I think it was a bad club.
03:24Well, it's, it's just, and that one was, you know, that's before we get to the, to the
03:28two toughness putts 16 was, you know, you just referenced it there.
03:32I mean, 16 was like kind of above the hole, kind of like on the side of the hole, definitely
03:35wasn't an uphill, but 18 was above the hole and it's just two, two tough spots to leave
03:40yourself with those putts that are just, there's all those subtleties and small moves with
03:45the grain on those greens and the speed, which they're rolling.
03:48And those are the, those are the ones that are uncomfy.
03:50It's, you know, the little inside four footers that slide just a little bit, so you can't
03:54necessarily hit it inside the hole.
03:56You're trying to pick a spot and match it to pace.
03:58And that's how you miss those, you know, it was, it was a tricky read.
04:01It looked like he wasn't comfortable where, how far he had it out left, I was watching
04:05from the side and I noticed his, I noticed like he hit up on it and I would, and it looked
04:11like he like just did not want to pull it left from the side angle.
04:18It looked like a push to me.
04:20And I don't think you can blame, I don't think you can blame the putt on 18 because it wasn't
04:26an easy putt.
04:27You know, I, I think plenty of guys would have missed it, but the chip shot, I would
04:32have said if you'd put a lot of guys there on the chip shot, a majority of them would
04:37have left it short in that scenario, which would have been the much, much easier putt.
