00:00The game industry, I'm not really used to it, so, you know, it is a long process, which is good.
00:04So the game is actually transformed. It's a lot better, it's creating a lot of excitement,
00:09which is really good. So yeah, I'm really excited.
00:11Patricia Jones has been developing her Windrush-based board game since last year.
00:16Aiming to educate and entertain while celebrating Windrush pioneers,
00:21the game has since been revamped and supported by Quizmaster Sean Wallace from The Chase,
00:26who was at the launch event.
00:27I came up to do an event in Leeds, I think it was in the summer of 2023,
00:32and she approached me after I was leaving and was telling me about her board game.
00:36So she sent me a sort of prototype of the game, and it was interesting.
00:40It was a good idea, but it needed much more work on it.
00:42So a business partner of mine called Max Parts,
00:46and this is a brilliant games inventor, I introduced to Patricia,
00:49and, you know, they discussed it, and we now have a game which isn't
00:54removed from the idea what Patricia said, but it's a brilliant,
00:57brilliant, potentially exciting board game.
01:00It's about Windrush and the journey as well. It's got quiz, it's got cards as well.
01:05Sean is a Quizmaster on the cards, which is good because he is a brain box.
01:08So there's a lot of questions and answers.
01:11So it's a learning and educational project as well.
01:14So it is for the young and old, people can, you know,
01:16with the grandkids and everything, you know, they can learn so much.
01:18We want it to be a crossover board game, not simply
01:22a pigeonhole in relation to our own community.
01:24We should always celebrate the contribution that we as black people and the ethnic minority
01:30as well have made a significant contribution to Britain, and we'll continue to do so.
01:36I've learned so much because it was before it was just a basic board game,
01:40and now there's so many tweaks to it.
01:42It's actually, you can actually have a game and you can have three games in one.
01:45That's something I didn't know.
01:46And like I said, I didn't know the process would be so long,
01:49but I can see now why the process is so long.
01:52So yeah, we've definitely conquered something really good.
01:56She's realised that Rome wasn't built in a day.
01:57That's right.
