00:00So Spencer Schwellenbach is the first guy that we're going to talk about.
00:06Now this is one of those Braves prospects, right?
00:09We got a Smith Sharver who pitched, we've got Schwellenbach, we've got some tough names
00:13really.
00:14What do you think about Schwellenbach?
00:15The latest guy that, you know, has shown you that, you know, he might be an interesting
00:20guy at some point, but I just don't know if that point is now.
00:24And you've already heard rumblings that the Atlanta Braves are looking to acquire more
00:27starting pitching help.
00:28Now, does that mean they're going out and looking for a Garrett Crochet, are they going
00:31out there and looking for a starting pitcher from another team that might be able to fill
00:35that spot?
00:36You know, Charlie Morton has been up and down this year.
00:38He's showing a bit of his age.
00:39Chris Sale's been at the top of that rotation, Reynaldo Lopez has been really good, but it's
00:44hard for me to imagine that Schwellenbach is going to be the guy that's pitching in,
00:48you know, late July for the Atlanta Braves there in this rotation.
00:51So if you need to go pick up somebody else that could be more interesting, let's say
00:55maybe speculate on a David Festa of the Minnesota Twins organization, you know, Bailey Ober's
01:00got a five ERA and, you know, Simeon Woods Richardson's an okay pitcher, but Festa just
01:07dropped another 10 Ks at AAA.
01:08He's got 80 plus strikeouts and 50 innings.
01:11That guy's starting to dominate.
01:12That might be exactly what you need right now if you're the Twinkies.
01:15So guys like that, that might be on the waiver wire.
01:17I think I would drop Schwellenbach for, but I don't know, where do you stand here with
01:20Spencer Schwellenbach?
01:21Are you still holding just because right now he's kind of been in the mix in this rotation
01:24and he is an Atlanta Brave or are you dropping him for something that might have a little
01:27bit more, maybe long-term appeal?
01:29Joe, you know me so well.
01:32So let me talk to the 12 team managers that are in say sixth place.
01:38If you have Schwellenbach, you have a pitcher on an elite team.
01:44Understand that.
01:45So when you're looking at your waiver wire, you have to ask yourself the question.
01:46Yeah, this guy may give me, I'm making up nine strikeouts over five innings, but what
01:50am I chasing here?
01:51Am I chasing wins?
01:52What type of numbers do I need?
01:54So I think a guy like Schwellenbach, considering the landscape of pitching currently, is safe
01:58to hold for another couple of weeks until you see everything start to really mature.
02:05Joe, you know this game.
02:07Right around now is where the pretenders fade away and guys that play to the back of their
02:11baseball cards start to do their thing.
02:13This is where the men and the boys are separated in fantasy DFS and wagering.
02:17So I think you hold on to Schwellenbach for a couple of more weeks.
02:20Let the landscape play out.
