00:0025-year-old Yusuf Kifah has been in love with electronic dance music since he was a boy.
00:06A DJ from age 13, the Damansara-born lad has performed at many major local music events.
00:16This year, he achieved a milestone by being the first Malaysian DJ to headline a music festival
00:21in the United Kingdom. From June 7th to 9th, Yusuf rocked the crowds at the Heart Trans Europe
00:28Weekender in Western Supermare, England. I think it was amazing. I think it was a great show.
00:34It was really great to connect with my fans in this side of the world.
00:38Many, many, many happy faces at the end of the night, so I think that's awesome.
00:43Yusuf performed a back-to-back set alongside UK Heart Trans act Lab 4. He played many of his
00:50signature tracks, including Champagne and Energy. He even managed to throw in a few Malaysian
00:56shout-outs. Well, I did tell the crowd that I've come from very far away, but I did play some
01:04Malaysian-made music, including my own, and yeah, I look forward to putting Malaysia on the map.
01:11Yusuf hopes to see more Malaysian talent shine internationally. For him, music has always been
01:18about connecting people. Well, I believe that joy is infectious. I like to spread joy to as many
01:26people as possible, and if I could be a beacon doing so in this manner, in this form, I'm all in.
