00:00Paul Skeens, early Major League Baseball career.
00:05He's been phenomenal, and that included yesterday, six and a third innings pitch, five hits,
00:09no earned runs, and ERA now below 2.5 at 2.43 exactly.
00:15Talk to us here about Paul Skeens and the expectations again for the rest of the summer.
00:19103 pitches, Craig, they let him go.
00:21Are we going to see more of this?
00:22Yeah.
00:23Look, I come on the show every week, Skeens pitches.
00:26It seems like I'm on, his time to pitch seems to be either Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
00:30because that's when I'm on the show with you guys every week, it's just lining up perfectly
00:33for me here.
00:34I mean, he's been fantastic, I mean, what are you going to say?
00:38I mean, right now you look at his Rookie of the Year odds, and all of a sudden you really
00:42have to start taking them more seriously.
00:44As long as he pitches deep into the season, I think he's got a great shot, as we've talked
00:48about.
00:49Imanaga, who is still barely the favorite to win the Rookie of the Year, is going to
00:52pitch for the Cubs all the way through until the last day of the season.
00:56In fact, if it is close, I could absolutely see Craig Council going, you know what, Imanaga,
01:02take the mound for the final game and try to win that award.
01:04So that's what Skeens has up against him, but as far as talent-wise is concerned, the
01:08next five years, Imanaga or Skeens, I mean, it's a no-brainer.
01:13I mean, Skeens is going to be one of the best pitchers in baseball, and he's just going
01:19over all of these props that he has every single day.
01:21Fading him is the wrong decision at this point.
01:23I know that they're set very high, but he has been as advertised in his first month-plus.
