00:00Various colleagues of yourself and indeed your good self has called
00:06it a gimmick, a stunt and an odd question to ask. But the expression
00:12of the Senate last week didn't give you its confidence. You lost a vote
00:17of no confidence here in the Senate. Was it a serious debate or was it a
00:22gimmick as you have been calling it all week? I take very seriously the
00:27debate that took place last week and the vote that came from it. I think a
00:31lot about the institution that I've been proud to fight for, to campaign
00:36for and to vote for in not just the referenda but in subsequent elections.
00:41I regret the fact that last week we weren't able to respect the normal
00:46traditions on pairing and the conventions that allow the democracy at
00:50the ballot box to be respected. But the vote took place and the outcome is
00:55the outcome. Vaughan Gething clearly wants to move on from the vote of no
00:59confidence but has said multiple times that despite the decision he will stay
01:03in the role. He does appreciate that the vote happened, went against him and
01:06should be respected. He has said that he now wants to focus on what comes next
01:10for the Welsh Government. But Frienda Ap Iorwerth doesn't want Gething
01:13getting let off as quite so easy. I'm interested in how this government works
01:19and functions and delivers on the manifesto we have already been elected
01:22on and the promises I've made as the leader as to how we can improve the
01:26country. That's what I'm interested in doing. It's what I'm committed to doing.
01:32I wish the First Minister could see himself. I really, really do and I'll read
01:35his words back to him. I regret the way the last three months have been covered
01:40and reported. I regret the way the last three months have been covered and
01:44reported. So it's the way this has been covered? It's the way it's been reported?
01:48I'm a former journalist still, a member of the National Union of Journalists. Are
01:50you blaming journalists for this? Are you blaming opposition members for the way
01:54that we voted in that vote last week?
