A lot to sort out this summer for the club.

00:00Michael, starting with Manchester United, obviously Eric Ten Hag's name was fluttering
00:06in and out of the news after the FA Cup triumph, to whether he was going to remain in charge
00:11or not. It's now been a few weeks after. I mean, time's ticking. The new season will
00:18be approaching as soon as that Euros campaign is done. It's a massive summer for the club.
00:23What's the latest you can tell us? Because it all seems a bit of a mess, really.
00:29Yeah, I think mess is the correct word. It's really not been well handled, has it? This
00:34is kind of supposed to be the new era of Manchester United. Under Ineos, it's supposed to all
00:39feel different. And truthfully, it feels very similar to the sort of saga and drama that
00:44you have associated with Manchester United under the glazers for so long. But in truth,
00:50I don't think a lot of people really know what's going on. This time two weeks ago,
00:55I was quite confident that Eric Ten Hag would have been moving on, would have been sacked.
01:02I'm not particularly confident of that now. We know that Thomas Tuchel is out of the race.
01:08We know that Kieran McKenna is out of the race, two managers that United liked. We know
01:13that Pochettino is someone that's potentially someone that they liked as well. The same
01:19with Thomas Frank, the same with De Zerbi, quite a few managers. Graham Potter was one
01:23as well. I don't think that looks likely now. And then the big one that I've heard
01:27repeatedly is Gareth Southgate is someone they really like. I was talking about this
01:32before of the complexities of potentially getting Southgate out of England, out of the
01:37England role, because the Euros, I mean, the final is on the 14th of July. Manchester United's
01:44first pre-season game of the summer is on the 15th of July. So it just shows how impossible
01:50essentially it is to get something wrapped up there with Southgate. It wouldn't surprise
01:55me that if we are getting into the season, maybe they start looking at something there.
02:00But the way it's looking more and more is potentially that Eric Ten Hag is going to
02:03remain in charge. I don't say that with any real confidence. This end of season review
02:09that has been going on, it's just a mess really. It's just, it's been going on for so long.
02:15I think a lot of people are actually questioning what are they looking at at this stage? And
02:20it's very clear that Ineos don't really have a huge amount of faith in Ten Hag, because
02:24if they did, we would have, this would have been wrapped up by now. You know, he would
02:30have, they would have given him a seal of approval. We'd be moving on, be looking at
02:33the transfer situation. Instead, you know, you've got agents and potential, potentially
02:38clubs out there who are looking at Manchester United being like, they don't even know who
02:41the manager is going to be. You know, it's so difficult to start planning these things.
02:45It will inevitably impact plans on transfers. You've also got the fact that Dan Ashworth
02:50isn't in yet, Omar Baradar isn't in yet. So this summer, it's just started absolutely
02:55terribly for Manchester United.
