ASH says that growing up she was an Emo but now she doesn't have an alternative style clothing wise, however when she turned 18 she got her first tattoo and hasn't stopped. She now has over 20+ tattoos and 18 piercings and says she has spent over $10,000 on her look. Ash recently went viral online after she posted a video addressing a rejection from a retail job, which she believes was down to her appearance. 00:55but I also like stuff with, like, skulls or satanic goats.

01:14I feel like it kind of makes people look, like, robotic.
01:16So the look we're gonna do on Ash today is gonna be, like,
01:19something you'd wear to, like, an interview.
01:21Some light face makeup.
01:23The main focus is to cover up all the tattoos.
01:26I know she's used to wearing heavier makeup,
01:28so it's definitely gonna be something totally different than what she's used to.
01:35I haven't seen what I looked like without tattoos and piercings for five years,
01:38so I'm just curious what it looks like.

01:46I'm using it to cover up the orange first,
01:49and then I'm going in with, like, a lighter shade to neutralize it.
01:52After going viral for not being able to get a job with face tattoos,
01:56I'm gonna be asking my TikTok followers if I look more employable now.
02:02So the TJ Maxx that I applied for,
02:05I thought everything went great
02:06because me and the manager were getting along super well.
02:09I got an email, like, five days later
02:12saying that they were passing up my application,
02:15and they were just saying I didn't have enough experience,
02:17but I feel like it was because of my look.
02:20It left me really frustrated
02:22because I don't think minimum wage jobs should be allowed
02:26to be picky about people's appearance.
02:28I talked to my husband about it,
02:30and he told me to make the video
02:31because he knew it was gonna spark controversy on TikTok,
02:35and I was like, I'll get a lot of views for this, so might as well.
02:39I wanted to bring awareness to tattoo discrimination in the workplace
02:43because I feel like it's a huge problem, like, all over the U.S.
02:47The comments were terrible.
02:48They're like, why are you surprised?
02:50You're unemployable.
02:52You have demonic and satanic tattoos.

02:57They'll say stuff like, I hope your husband leaves you.

03:03Most of these people are probably 40-year-old men in their mom's basement
03:07sitting in their underwear writing these comments.
03:10I'm like, you don't look that great yourself.
03:12I just think it's funny.
03:14That's just what's gonna happen on social media,
03:16either negative or positive comments.
03:19None of my tattoos have an evil meaning.
03:22So do you think we'll be able to remove all your piercings?
03:25I'll be able to take out my septum ring,
03:27but with the ones on my, like, lips and on my cheeks,
03:32you have to have, like, clamps and everything to take it out.
03:34So far on my 18 piercings and 20-plus tattoos,
03:39I've spent, like, well over 10 grand on my body modifications.
03:43I think my piercings and tattoos have definitely interfered with me getting employment
03:47because when I would go in for interviews,
03:49they would say stuff like,
03:51oh, you'll have to take out your piercings
03:54or, like, cover your tattoos with makeup.
03:57And I've spent so much money on my piercings,
03:59I didn't want to take them out
04:01because the holes can close up within, like, a matter of hours.
04:05So I just would not get the job
04:07because I'm super dedicated to my look.
04:10Well, I've just come to the realization,
04:11like, people are going to like my appearance or not,
04:14and I can't live my life based off of what other people think
04:19because I need to be authentically myself.
