00:07 I've been running pubs for a long time and this came up and it was an opportunity we

00:15 We've got some extended family here.

00:17 We really loved St Leonard's, we went around that having a look and we went for it and

00:23 Our plans are to make it a proper pub really, an extension of people's living rooms and
00:26 places that someone can come and have a coffee with Paulina and like I said a letter or a
00:30 moan about England being knocked out with penalties in the quarter finals or Euros.
00:35 We want to have a good simple food offer.
00:37 We have a few pizzas on and a special pizza of the month regularly, a good burger, a regular
00:42 salad that's seasonal and some good sandwiches.
00:46 A couple of offers there so when you order a sandwich or a main during the week at lunch
00:50 time you get a free soft drink.
00:52 We want to do a weekly quiz with good prizes and once a month dedicate that to a local
00:56 charity who we're still looking for suggestions for.
01:00 We're going to get a little dart board so it's a proper pub game in here.
01:03 We're not going to turn it into a sports bar but we want to have it a place where people
01:06 want to come, have a beer, have a chat or just sit quietly on their own in a corner
01:11 really and be here.
01:13 One thing I want to do is make sure we're open when we said we're open and not close
01:16 early and you know so you can come if you think we're open until 10, come in, we'll
01:20 still be here at 10 o'clock.
01:21 We're open 12 to 9 on Monday and Tuesday currently.
01:26 If business picks up we'll definitely be open until 11 and 10 on Wednesday it's the same
01:30 thing but I find it very important that we can open 7 days a week for the local community
01:38 really because that's what a pub is in my opinion.
01:42 Some days we will close at 6, it might change a little bit over the summer holidays if there's
01:45 a lot of people around but just so I can actually spend a little bit of time with my wife and
01:48 my dog if she wants and yeah that's it really but we want to be open when we say we're open.
01:55 Dogs are welcome throughout and we don't tell them they have to stay on the lead unless
01:59 you know if they're not the best behaved dogs but Jarvis wherever he's gone he's probably
02:03 with his ball somewhere, he's the chairman of the marina fountain, he welcomes other
02:06 dogs too but yeah absolutely if you're walking your dog down the promenade come have a beer,
02:12 get your dog a pint of water, chill out in the garden or just in here, dog friendly throughout
02:17 absolutely.
02:18 We're going to be doing the Euros and the Six Nations and three to wear things, we want
02:23 to do a big thing over Glastonbury and have it on TV so people can watch the headline
02:28 acts in here and make a bit of a party of it.
02:30 We won't be doing much live music, we'll do it occasionally, we're just trying to move
02:35 it to an area where it is a boozer, where people can come and have a chat and not have
02:40 to pay for ticket prices etc but that's just the way we want to move it.
02:44 We will have an open mic night once a month so watch this space for details on that.
02:49 Well with real ales we're going to try and keep it as local as possible all the time
02:53 so we've got Longman on at the moment from the Longman brewery, it's Long Blonde so we're
02:59 going to have them as our regular haunt if you like on the taps and then other Sussex
03:04 or Kentish breweries on the other tap rotational.
03:08 Our aim is probably September/October we'll get a third ale tap in and have three going
03:12 at one time.
03:15 So Mondays and Tuesdays we're doing not happy ale but happy days, ÂŁ3.50 for selected real
03:22 ale and ÂŁ3.50 for fosters.
03:25 After the Euros we'll be introducing the Conqueror card where pensioners get a 10% discount off
03:29 everything and so do NHS workers and teachers.
