00:00 Yeah, I'm from a little small town called Gatlin, Mississippi, but we're currently,
00:05 we have a place in Nashville.
00:06 I don't say I live here either because I'm never here.
00:08 But everyone, every musician like has like, oh, I got a place I stay if I'm in town, but
00:13 I'm not, I don't live in Nashville.
00:14 The only time is a hotel or a bus.
00:17 I love watching out there in front of that packed, that packed room and the emotions
00:21 hit you.
00:22 It's got to be a surreal thing to sing from your heart in front of that many people.
00:25 Yeah, you know, like I said out there, you know, I have a really difficult time showing
00:29 my vulnerability and my soft side, just kind of how I was raised.
00:33 And especially when you put me up there and I like my band is like my safe spot, you know,
00:38 because we form and I just say, I just I sit back in the pocket.
00:42 And when you know, when they're not up there, it's just kind of like all me.
00:45 And every time I play that song acoustic, I break down.
00:48 They told me they wanted me to play it today, or I had to play it today.
00:51 I can't, I can't, I can't like I'll find an excuse.
00:55 I cannot do, you know.
00:56 You know, I play that song really.
01:00 I mean, it's out to the world.
01:01 I still talk to Jesus is, but I mean, I play it at home by myself.
01:04 You know, really, I love that song.
01:06 What is how's life changed post idol?
01:10 How's life changed?
01:11 Wow.
01:12 What what is I mean, what hadn't changed?
01:15 You know, anything?
01:16 Probably nothing has been left untouched.
01:18 We are, you know, man, just blessings.
01:21 You know, one thing I really love about this is, you know, the music industry has really
01:26 pushed me closer to God.
01:27 You know, I kind of before I was doing this, I kind of drifted away a little bit.
01:31 And you know, I know I might get on stage, cuss, do this, do that things you don't like.
01:36 But at the end of the day, I'm a I'm a God fearing Christian.
01:39 So I mean, you know, I love I love him to death.
01:41 And that's one thing that has mainly changed in my personal life.
01:45 And I don't know, man, just just being somebody, you know, like that's that's really another
01:52 main thing.
01:53 And it's awesome.
01:54 And I just love everything.
01:56 As you shared that, have you had fan response?
01:58 Like, what's it what's the response been from people that have heard you share that piece
02:01 of who you are and hear the music that's inspired by it?
02:04 Oh, man, do we?
02:06 Wow, I've had it's nuts.
02:08 You know, they love that, you know, and that's why I don't do it as much because they love
02:13 it.
02:14 But now they love it.
02:15 You know, it's good because, you know, come from a hometown where, you know, you don't
02:19 really do much.
02:20 You know, every guy there is a hard ass, you know, you know what I mean?
02:23 So, you know, being a little bit different and, you know, kind of showing that, you know,
02:27 people people really, really love that.
02:28 But what are you most excited about this coming up?
02:32 All right.
02:33 So a lot of things.
02:35 We got a brand new EP, Drop It In July.
02:38 I think an album at the end of the year.
02:41 We're going on the LAX US tour.
02:44 And then we're going on Chase Matthews Canadian tour.
02:48 And then we got a few dates with Midland.
02:49 So you got nothing going on?
02:50 I just got to be a little less.
02:54 But it's exciting, man.
02:55 Yeah, that's they broke the news to me a few days ago that Midland accepted us and put
03:00 them on our tour, man.
03:01 And they're not there to work.
03:02 But I think it's show a couple of days.
03:04 I don't know much about it.
03:05 You're in the mix.
03:06 I'm in the mix.
03:07 Me and Midland will be on the same stage.
03:09 Who should replace Katy Perry on the spot?
03:11 Adele.
03:12 Adele.
03:13 Adele, you heard it here.
03:15 Why Adele?
03:16 Man, I've always.
03:18 Which I will say, I've not always loved her music, but I've always respected her as a
03:22 person for her work ethic.
03:24 In this industry, you have to have a work ethic.
03:27 You know what I mean?
03:29 And to me, she has a different fame.
03:33 She has true music fame.
03:36 Not like a TV fame or a publicity fame or anything like that.
03:40 Just come from her music.
03:42 Massive star based on the artistry of that music.
03:46 Yeah.
03:47 She's just, I've never met her.
03:48 She seems amazing and she seems like she stands up for what she thinks.
03:53 And I love that about her.
03:54 That's cool.
03:55 I'd love to meet her one day if I ever got to.
03:57 You hear that Adele?
03:58 Hopefully you're watching.
03:59 We've got a range of meeting.
04:00 Got to.
04:01 Let's have a sit down conversation.
04:02 Tell me how you're that good.
04:03 And I can probably.
04:04 Negotiate your entry into American Idol judgehood.
04:06 Okay, there we go.
04:07 Hey, it's a pleasure to talk to you man.
04:08 Thank you.
04:09 Good luck with everything.
