00:00It's time now for Line Movement, and the reason I say it is so important.
00:07We keep our nose to the grindstone, Joe.
00:09Each and every week, we seem to revisit Major League Baseball Line Movement when it comes
00:13to Futures Awards, and each and every week, we're having these good conversations and
00:17finding this good value while everyone else is posing for pictures that aren't even being
00:22taken.
00:23So I thank you for that.
00:24Let's do some work now.
00:25Let's go.
00:26AL MVP Line Movement.
00:28Nobody churns butter like Matt Stryker, let me tell you.
00:32He is out there in the fields, he's plowing, he's churning the butter, he's out there at
00:37the same farmer's market that he doesn't want to go to, he's selling the eggs, he's doing
00:40all the things out there.
00:41You got to love it.
00:42It's a simple man, Matt Stryker.
00:44He likes money, and so do I.
00:46And Matt, we're talking about the American League MVP race, and it's changed overnight
00:52because this graphic we had built is now a little out of date.
00:56If you looked at what happened yesterday, I'm going to update you what's going on today.
00:59So Aaron Judge plus 155, Juan Soto obviously took a little bit of a dip, plus 350 with
01:04the forearm injury, Gunnar Henderson plus 500.
01:06Now that board looks like Aaron Judge at plus 125, Bobby Witt at plus 450, which I love
01:12Bobby Witt, but I just can't get there.
01:15Juan Soto at plus 460, Gunnar Henderson at plus 480, so the Soto share is starting to
01:19tick back.
01:20Now, it's a really intriguing period of time to buy on Juan Soto if you do believe that
01:25this injury is not a big deal because you're not going to see five-to-one-on-one Soto again.
01:30But perhaps the most interesting piece is this.
01:32My favorite long shot that I don't think is getting enough credit that is really a one-man
01:38offense in Cleveland.
01:39I mean, Josh Naylor's pretty good.
01:41I know Fry's been good.
01:42There's been some contributors.
01:43Steven Kwan's a nice player, but let's be honest, it's Jose Ramirez and everybody else
01:47on that team.
01:48And he might not be Barry Bonds, but he might be an MVP this year, and he's been a guy who's
01:52flirted with this before.
01:54Plus 2,400 was the number going into this weekend.
01:58Now that number is plus 1,800.
02:01So Matt, I think people are starting to catch up a little bit to a few things.
02:06Number one, the Cleveland ballpark adjustments have made the Guardians one of the best home
02:11run hitting teams in the league, a third right now to be specific.
02:18That's a big thing because if Ramirez can continue to put up some monumental numbers,
02:22let's say Soto comes back, Judge is back.
02:24Judge and Soto cannibalize each other a little bit.
02:26They're both in New York.
02:27Who to vote for?
02:28You know, a lot of people in the media, spoiler, don't really like New York teams that much.
02:34Don't really love just giving awards out to guys who play in New York and all that comes
02:39with it.
02:40Now it's a big media market.
02:41They're very famous players.
02:42I get all that.
02:43But how do you separate Judge from Soto this year?
02:44They've both been great.
02:46You could vote for both of them, or you could look to the Cleveland Guardians instead, Matt,
02:50and say, hey, look at this guy who's got the weight of his shoulders as one guy.
02:54Maybe he's the MVP.
02:55What do you think about Jose Ramirez at now plus 1,800?
02:58Maybe you can get it at 24 somewhere else, but not at some other market.
