00:00hold or drop. It's essentially the same thing. So we're going to run through some players
00:06here and talk about if we're going to hold or drop them. Where would you like to start Joe?
00:12Well, I want to start with Luis Matos of the San Francisco Giants, because there was a player that
00:17with the Jung Hooli injury, all of a sudden a spot opened up. Matos had a good spring,
00:22got sent down, seemed to be pouting a little bit there about it. And then got another opportunity,
00:28came out of the gates red hot, hit a home run. That first game he was up there. All of a sudden
00:32people ran to the waiver wire. And unfortunately, just really hasn't been good ever since. Just to
00:36point out how bad it's been over the last 14 days. He has a buck 29 batting average, a 281 OPS. That
00:43is not good. That's not what you want out of a player. And everyday playing time is now going
00:48away from Matos. And I think this is a player that although young enough and interesting enough from
00:53the numbers at AAA, remember those are PCL numbers at the same time. So we always take them with a
00:57grain of salt anyway. So it's tough sometimes to transfer those numbers over. I think with Matos,
01:02this is a player that the giant system in general, if you look at what they've not done recently,
01:08you know, Joey Bart was supposed to be that guy, right? He was going to be that catching prospect
01:12is going to be the guy forever. He's not on the team anymore. Now we got DFA and he was on the
01:15pirates. He hit a grand slam against him a couple of weeks ago. Matos and otherwise guys, Helio
01:20Ramos, like there's these players that they haven't really hit on quite yet in their system.
01:24And it's been a problem because for the giants to regain that competitiveness that they had when
01:30they had those world series runs, it was because of the buster poses of the world's kind of players
01:34that they built internally. And then that was helping to entice some free agents to come here
01:39to San Francisco. And I don't think that's really been the case for them. So that's been a tough
01:44problem for this organization in the last, I would say five, 10 years, even to deal with.
01:48And Matos feels like another symptom of that. So unfortunately Matos, I know you picked him up.
01:52I know you had high expectations, but at this point I think it's okay to drop him. And I think
01:56he has been one of the most dropped guys out there in major league baseball, according to CBS right
02:00now, which is a good place because that's a place where people were paying for leagues.
02:04So look at those ad drop numbers and situations like that, as opposed to some other spots,
02:08like the ESPN is where everything's basically free.
