En 1958 “La Tropical” era la mayor cervecería de Cuba, produciendo el 58% de la producción anual de cerveza con las marcas La Tropical, Cristal, Tropical 50 y Maltina. En 1960 La Tropical fue expropiada por el régimen castrocomunista.
