00:05 When FMT Lifestyle last met with Kavivanan Subramaniam in 2020,
00:10 the young lad was running a humble business in Kuala Lumpur,
00:13 selling masala tea from his bicycle.
00:16 A common sight in the Brickfields area,
00:18 his story was one that moved many Malaysians.
00:22 Fast forward to 2024 and the now 27-year-old,
00:25 sometimes called T Thambi, has enjoyed success in the past few years.
00:31 Today, instead of selling tea from his bicycle,
00:34 he has six stalls throughout KL, with the seventh on the way.
00:38 And he even has a cafe to call his own.
00:42 Located on Jalan Tun Perak, T Thambi Cafe is Kavi's first brick and mortar establishment.
00:48 A small but quaint tea shop,
00:50 this is the perfect place to grab a sweet brew when you are on the go.
00:55 In addition to Kavi's classic masala tea,
00:58 several newcomers are on the menu, including ginger tea and brew coffee.
01:03 And what better way to enjoy a cup of masala tea than with a piping hot vadeh?
01:08 Or perhaps something a little sweet like kuih ketayap?
01:12 Also worth your attention are these curry puffs,
01:15 best enjoyed right out the fryer.
01:18 Kavi is now a busy man who spends most days travelling between stalls,
01:22 ensuring everything runs smoothly.
01:25 And when it comes to the quality of his tea, he spares no expense in maintaining it.
01:32 And that was the latest on T Thambi.
