Anglicare staff and volunteers discuss the role of op shops in Canberra.
Transcript
00:00 So I think that OpChops are really important to our community because it's a place where
00:09 community comes, has a chat, can find something special.
00:13 We also have so many volunteering roles available and our volunteers, you know, once they're
00:20 here, they're here for 20 years and they really value the social aspect of that as well.
00:26 So it's just about really allowing everyone to come in and enjoy our shops.
00:43 We love it.
00:44 The days we're on together, it's really great fun.
00:47 We do it because we want to give back to the community and because we think there's so
00:55 much stuff that comes through that needs re-selling at a proper price.
01:01 That's one aspect of it.
01:04 The other thing is that there's so much waste in today's world that needs to be recycled.
01:10 And there are lots of people who come in this shop, from the very, very needy people to
01:14 the people who are looking for a special bargain, to the people who are looking for something
01:18 special.
