00:04 So this goes back a couple of years when Anthony Long, our group chairman, visited the orphanage and it was due to foreclose.
00:11 Capital raised the money to buy the land and buildings for the orphanage, saved it from going out of existence.
00:16 And then a group of 12 people went over to help maintain and build various aspects of the orphanage.
00:24 Those guys came back and basically told everybody what a great, uplifting experience it was, quite humbling and sort of changed their outlook on life.
00:33 And so they decided to run this project again. So we've got 12 lucky volunteers who are going again this year to support the orphanage again.
00:41 We've been tasked, each of us, with raising £1,500. So personally I'm putting on a charity gig or performance with three or four local bands, which is going to be on the 3rd of August at Mad Jack's.
00:52 I posted a bingo night, that was last Friday, very successful, so I'm not far off my goal.
00:57 I'm doing another raffle next week, raffling off a mini moto signed by TT Riders and a three mile walk every day for the month of June.
01:07 On Friday 7th June I'll actually be at TT Bushy's Village. I will have a stand there where I'm auctioning off motorcycle rider merchandise.
01:17 I am just doing the parish walk and then when I'm in Africa I'm going to climb Kilimanjaro. So that's going to be my main fundraising.
01:23 So I've set up a Just Giving page and last night I actually hit my target, so I'm all good to go now. So there's a lot to look forward to.
01:31 A good friend of mine just recently bought a tandem and I've somehow persuaded our group chairman Anthony to take part.
01:38 So we're both dressing up as Elvis, setting up from the grandstand and doing the 37 miles around the course, hopefully in about 7 hours.
