00:00 >> Good morning and thanks for being here.
00:07 Serious problems call for serious solutions.
00:10 And the current border crisis is at the worst point we've ever seen any kind of border crisis
00:15 in our country.
00:16 And listen, I'm always open to working with anyone to find the solutions that we need
00:21 for these kind of problems.
00:23 But the initial reports that we've been seeing regarding the executive order by President
00:28 Biden later today regarding the border, they don't indicate a serious approach to this
00:34 very serious issue.
00:37 There's a reason for my skepticism on what we're about to see.
00:41 On day one, this president signed dozens of executive orders that cost this border crisis.
00:49 Since then, he refused to take any kind of responsibility or ownership over this crisis.
00:56 Until since then, refused that he had any authority to actually solve or address this
01:02 crisis that we're seeing now.
01:06 So after doing that, and he's about to sign one executive order, my expectation of what
01:12 this was actually do is pretty low.
01:16 What we see today and just a little bit from this president, if it's in line with anything
01:21 else that we've seen up to this point, that is the reason of my skepticism of what's actually
01:25 going to be in it and how serious this is going to be to solve the issue.
01:28 If it's in line with the way he's acted before, it's going to be too little too late and probably
01:33 not enough and not enough seriousness to actually address this issue.
01:37 What we do know about this potential executive order regarding a 2500 person limit, that's
01:43 a problem.
01:44 If that's the case, that sets a number of how many people can actually enter the country
01:49 legally before we allow our border agents to start doing their job.
01:53 So I have an issue with 2500, 5000, or whatever the number is that we've seen before.
01:59 That number can be 2500.
02:01 Why not make it zero to allow people to break the laws of this country before entering and
02:08 then actually allow our agents to do their job?
02:12 My district, border agents, my border community, they demand serious answers for this serious
02:17 problem and it's time for us to have some meaningful solutions on this and to find and
02:22 see meaningful leadership from this White House.
02:25 So this is my message.
02:27 Let's get serious about this issue now.
02:29 You have no time to waste.
02:31 We have to do it right now.
02:33 Thank you.
02:35 And with that, I would like to yield to my friend, Majority.
