00:03 There's a saying, right?
00:04 That Vegas never loses.
00:06 Vegas lost on this one.
00:08 Like, I don't understand how they've gotten played
00:11 by John Fisher.
00:12 And it started out, Mike, as,
00:14 well, it'll cost two, $300 million,
00:16 then six, $700 million.
00:19 As if, bro.
00:20 You really think you're gonna, you know what I mean?
00:22 It's gonna get upwards of over a billion dollars.
00:25 And taxpayers are paying for that more so
00:28 than they did for the Raiders, even.
00:30 (laughs)
00:31 - Yeah.
00:32 - And they wanted the Raiders, right?
00:33 The Raiders were like, yeah, yeah, this is cool.
00:35 We're getting the Raiders.
00:36 Even the Raiders, you know,
00:38 they paid for like half the stadium.
00:40 There was a, you know, there was a tourist tax,
00:42 a hotel tax.
00:43 It didn't really cost people in Vegas all that much.
00:46 They're flat out paying.
00:48 John Fisher, who was one of the richest men in America,
00:51 I might add, Carver,
00:53 they're building him a new stadium.
00:55 And they're paying for it.
00:57 And now he wants a clause in that he's allowed to play 10%.
01:02 Wasn't that the whole point of moving to Vegas?
01:04 Like, if you have the Vegas market,
01:06 why do you want to play somewhere else now?
01:09 And let me ask you another like question.
01:12 Would have it made more effing sense
01:14 to start doing this now over the last couple of years?
01:19 Say, you know what, man?
01:20 We're not really selling so many tickets here in Oakland.
01:24 So let's go play a weekend series in Sacramento
01:27 and reach out to these fans over here and get them involved.
01:31 Let's play in San Jose for a couple of games.
01:34 Fine, that would have made sense, right?
01:37 The Montreal Expos, you know,
01:39 there's a lot of similarities between this
01:40 with the Expos and the AAs.
01:41 And I was there firsthand.
01:44 It wasn't ideal,
01:46 but they came up with a solution
01:47 where Puerto Rico paid them more money,
01:51 but they knew.
01:52 We're playing 25 games in Puerto Rico.
01:54 And on top of this though, Mike,
01:55 and if you really read the fine print about this work,
01:57 it's really funny.
01:59 If you play any more than four games
02:03 away from your home stadium,
02:07 you have to redo a deal with the MLBPA.
02:10 Like players aren't just gonna say,
02:13 oh yeah, sure, oh, like I'll play 10 games here
02:16 and 20 games there.
02:18 No one wants to do that unless they get paid more.
02:20 The AAs don't pay people more, right?
02:23 They don't pay people more.
02:25 So like the whole thing's a train wreck.
02:27 And another thing is too,
02:28 from a competitive standpoint, Carver,
02:30 this thing's an effing joke.
02:31 'Cause do you think that any free agent
02:33 or do you think the AAs are gonna sign any players,
02:35 whether it's Sacramento and a minor league stadium
02:37 with 13,000 people a game?
02:39 No, they can't afford it.
02:41 So in other words,
02:42 they're never signing any players until they get to Vegas.
02:46 And you know, they won't even do that then.
02:48 They're just gonna be a bottom feeder
02:50 that road teams will go in there and beat up on.
