00:00 With just a few days to go before the European Parliament elections, the leaders of Greece's
00:05 main parties are making their final pitches to voters. They hope to secure solid results
00:10 for their parties as well as bolster election turnouts by attracting young voters.
00:15 "Do you remember where we were in 2019, when you first trusted us? We made a great effort
00:22 to first of all, to restore the image of Europe. Because it was not an honor for us, my friends,
00:28 to go to Europe and everyone to see us then, remember, as the black sheep, the problematic
00:34 country of the Eurozone. That has changed. Greece today is a country whose opinion and
00:40 voice counts in Europe. It is a pleasant surprise, as far as the pace of development, as far as
00:47 the reforms that we have succeeded in."
00:50 Stephanos Kasselakis, leader of Greece's far-left opposition party Syriza, has also been out
00:55 campaigning. Syriza is polling far behind the ruling right-wing New Democracy Party
01:01 with just over 15% of voting intentions.
01:04 Socialist Party Passos leader Nikos Androulakis has questioned the election's legitimacy,
01:10 claiming millions of voters either abstain or make extreme choices due to economic and
01:15 social insecurity.
01:16 The elections will take place on the 9th of June in Greece.
