00:00 We have TMC 29 seats in West Bengal and BJP 13 seats in West Bengal. We have Sandeep and Professor Chambi with us. First of all I want to go to Mr. Sandeep. West Bengal, where you thought this time it will be great but now it is worse than last time.
00:23 What is going on is a state that is completely ruled by rule of TMC and by rule of law.
00:42 We have seen Sandeshikal incident where women were taken as objects of certain intent. This is the mindset of TMC government. If you ask about what is the BJP's perspective towards women, can you tell me any other government that has given more respect to women than what we have seen?
01:05 When we inaugurated the new Parliament building, the first law that we passed in the Parliament building is giving reservation to the Maharashtra Act. So in West Bengal our point is very clear. Our respect towards women is to be restored unlike what TMC has towards women.
01:26 We have a lot of Muslim attachment ingrained in TMC. We are saying that Satya Satya, Satya Vikas and our schemes have not differentiated whether you are Hindu or Muslim or other minority communities.
01:43 We are not against women. We are not in the business of attachment. We are in the business of dollar pointers. In that respect we do not like the idea of Muslim attachment. We do not like the idea of disrespecting women and that is where we have fought in West Bengal.
01:58 I am sure the women voters all across have realized this point from West Bengal. I am sure they are going to give us very good majority in the next Parliament.
02:08 Professor Chambi, your views on West Bengal.
02:13 Oh yeah, West Bengal. I think that is also a bit of a surprise for me because I do not think Mamata Banerjee is that unpopular as far as the ground realities of West Bengal are concerned.
02:26 I think the way BJP leaders there as opposition, they projected a kind of devilish kind of image of Mamata Banerjee. I do not think the Bengali pride will accept it also.
02:39 Bengal has its own identity. We all know for the last 50-60 years whatever Bengal thinks today, India will think later like the rest of India. That kind of image that Bengal has still got like the Telugu pride of Andhra Pradesh.
02:56 I think Mamata Banerjee barring Sandesh Kalinga and her high handedness in some particular constituencies where she has a soft corner for the minorities and especially the immigrants who have come there.
03:11 You know which has been manipulated definitely. Just because victory is there, you can't say that there is a moral victory for leaders. I think morally, I think Mamata Banerjee should learn that the people of Bengal still have respect for her.
03:26 Therefore, they have not accepted her totally. So that kind of humility should come in her. Then if she is willing to accept the kind of whatever progress that is there which is required to be delivered, she should not discriminate with the people of West Bengal.
